Bodies Bodies Bodies Film Review

 

Horror fans every so often the slasher genre needs a film to change the game just to keep things from going stale. Well while the film that im about to review for you all today certainly isn't that film it does try it's best to change the game for the slasher genre and in this day and age with so few slasher films being made and released that right now is the best that can do and so then join me as I review the film that might very well be first meh film for A24 Pictures with the film in question being called simply just "Bodies Bodies Bodies" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a group of spoilt rich teenagers arrive at a house for a party all of the teens starts getting killed of and it's up to the teens to find out which one among them s the killer. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this film being self-aware enough to pull of a plot as cliched as what this one is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Starring in this film is former The Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg as Sophie and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm breakout star Maria Bakalova as Bee. Also starring in this film is Myha'la Herrold as Jordan , Chase Sui Wonders as Emma , Rachel Sennott as Alice , The Hobbit and Captain Marvel and Guardians Of The Galaxy star Lee Pace as Greg , Pete Davidson as David and Conner O'Malley as Max.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With actress Rachel Sennott getting alot of praise from the critics and rightfully so as she is a joy to watch in this film with both her and this films cast turning in some really good performances in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Unlike They/Them this film really does take full advantage of the fact that it's parodying this generation. Which does make this film pretty funny however alot of this films jokes just aren't that funny and where as They/Them wasn't trying to be funny but ended up being unintentionally funny this film is trying to be funny and while it does succeed some of time it fails alot of the time as well with alot of this films jokes just being painfully unfunny and just straight up bad jokes in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Even if your meant to be making fun of a group of people you still need to make those people that your making fun of actually likable. Which is something that this film fails to do at all since alot of this films main cast of characters are really unlikable characters which resulted in my openly cheering when they died which is something that you should never want to be the case as you should always want to see the characters survive and so then when your cheering when they die then you've done something really wrong in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

I can't say why this is the case but Amandla Stenberg's character in this film does something that makes her rather unlikable and what she does she also make her rather unforgivable. However the filmmakers expect us to like this character and to root for this character which given what she does to another character makes that next to impossible to do and this is just one example of why making all of your characters seem rather unlikable only serves to hurt your film and not help your film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

To me this film tries to be alot like both Tucker & Dale vs. Evil and any of the Scream films for reasons that I cannot say without going into spoilers. However this film doesn't understand what made those elements work in the first place and so then it just comes as being a half baked which is a shame because those elements are really good ideas and in the case of Tucker & Dale vs. Evil can lead to some really good laughs but you have understand what made those elements work in the first place and like I just said that's something that the makers of this film just didn't bother to do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty eight minuets and twenty one seconds. Which is kind of exactly how long I expected this film to last since alot of slasher films don't typically last that long and those that do usually have a good reason to last as long as they do in the first place and it really does help that this film really doesn't have alot there in terms of either freaking plot or story to cover a really long time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this is meant to be a slasher film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However alot of this films kills do feel rather tame which for a slasher film is something that you never want to be the case since the kills are always meant to be the selling point of your slasher film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is such a huge let down which is such a shame because it could have worked and on paper it's a film that could or perhaps even should have worked in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street 2007 Film Review

 

Horror fans for some unknown reason the horror genre isn't that well respected in main stream hollywood. However every so often we do get one or two horror films that main stream hollywood seems to like and respect and i'm going to be reviewing on of those films for you all right now and so then join me as I review the film that is to date Johnny Depp's only horror ad musical film with the freaking film in question being called simply just "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street" enjoy.

The plot of this film is fifteen years after being exiled to Australia a barber by the name of Benjamin Barker goes home to London looking for revenge on the corrupt judge who sent him there. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being genuinely quite engaging and at times at rather shocking and heartbreaking as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.  

Starring in this film is Johnny Depp as Benjamin Barker / Sweeney Todd and Helena Bonham Carter as Nellie Lovett. Also starring in this film is of the course the late and the most certainly great Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin , Timothy Spall as Beadle Bamford , Jayne Wisener as Johanna Barker , Sacha Baron Cohen as Adolfo Pirelli , Laura Michelle Kelly as Lucy Barker / The Beggar Woman , Jamie Campbell Bower as Anthony Hope and Ed Sanders as Tobias 'Toby' Ragg.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to su in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors and actress that you expect great performances from really delivering but the films quality of acting is every so slightly let down by it's more younger cast members tho in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the CGI for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Moving Picture Company and I think Cinesite. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films CGI mainly being used to enhance what was already there n the day o filming which is always how CGI should be used in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Incase you don't know this film actually isn't the first film to be called Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street with that honor going to the 1936 film of the exact same name. In fact the only thing that is really different between the two films is the fact that this one is a musical where as the 1936 film isn't a musical but it just goes to show you just how iconic this story is as it's been told time and time again since 1846 and the story is still very popular to this very day in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

To me this film is a tragedy since we see Sweeney Todd lose everything that he ever loved all in the name of revenge. Since we see how much Sweeney has before he's exiled we see that he has a wife that he loves and that loves him and he has a baby girl whom he thinks the world of but tho due to Judge Turpin Sweeney Todd comes back to London looking for revenge and because of that he loses everything that he ever held dear to him because of the fact that he becomes blinded by his need for revenge in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The songs and the music for this film where all written by the late and the most certainly great Stephen Sondheim and I have to say that this films songs are well and truly phenomenal. With each of this films songs either being fairly creepy and scary , romantic or just very darkly funny with there being absolutely no inbetween with my personal favourite song being "Epiphany" just because it's such a good song in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then I cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films exact grand total running time even was but I do know that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and fifty one minuets. Which is a tad bit on the long side for this film since this film really doesn't need to be that long at all since this film really doesn't have enough story there to cover that large amount of running time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now since this film is a slasher film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film are in all honesty not that bad. However that's also the issue because of the fact that alot of this films are just the same kill done over and over again in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is just so freaking good that it really does need to be seen to believed is it a perfect nope absolutely not but it's a damned near perfect freaking film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 9 out of 10 from me.

Prey 2022 Film Review

 

Horror fans it's rare that we get to see a Predator movie being made these days and it's even rarer to see a new Predator movie that's actually decent. Well now then we can finally say that we not only have a brand spanking new Predator movie but that this is an actually good Predator movie and so then join me as I review the film that aims to bring back a dead franchise with the film in question being called simply just "Prey" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a young girl has to track and hunt a mysterious Alien creator and kill it before it kills her. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in then all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot actually being something new and refreshing and not just seeing the titular Predator hunting down a group of people in a new and bigger location which is always a very good thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is actress and director Amber Midthunder as Naru , Dakota Beavers as Taabe and Michelle Thrush as Aruka. Also starring in this film is Stormee Kipp as Wasape , Julian Black Antelope as Chief Kehetu , Bennett Taylor as Raphael Adolini , Mike Paterson as Big Beard , Nelson Leis as Waxed Mustache , Tymon Carter as Huupi , Skye Pelletier as Tabu , Harlan Blayne Kytwayhat as Itsee and Dane DiLiegro as The Predator.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very  film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films doing a good job of making this films script not only work for them but also turn in a really good performance as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the CGI for this film is Industrial Light & Magic , Moving Picture Company , Pixel Light Effects and Track VFX. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad altho there where one or two bad looking CGI shots which did bring down the overall quality of the CGI in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

I have to admit that I really do like the new look for the Predator since it's a look that really does make sense for this film. Since this film is a prequel film it does make sense to me that The Predator in this film would have a more stripped back and a more streamlined look and it is something that really does look well enough in this film altho  I would have liked it if The Predator had a little bit more armour since he is still from a hunting race of aliens and so he would still have alot of armour on him in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Like I said this film is a prequel with this film taking us to the second earliest point in the Predator timeline. With the earliest point being the comic book short story Predator: 1718 and so then within the space of two years earth saw not one but two Predator attacks which I do kind of have an issue since even you remove you fact that it would be hard as heck for news to travel around the world there still would have been one or two people in this film that would have heard of the attack from just one year earlier in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact gran total running time of exactly one hour and thirty nine minuets and thirty four seconds. Which is a tad bit long for a film that has a story that's this wafer thin to last and as such this film does feel a tad bit boring which is a shame because when this film really does want to get exciting it can be really exciting but it would have been alot more exciting if this film was at the very least ten minuets shorter in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

So now then since this is a horror film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film are in all honesty really good. With this films being the best and the most entertaining part of this film plus I find it hilarious that a gory as heck horror film is being made an then thus released by Disney in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Overall this film wasn't that good of a film but then again i'm not nor have a ever been a Predator fans and so then i'm sure that this film will be bound to please the Predator fans in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. They/Them Film Review

 

Horror fans every so often we get a film that just from the title and premise alone tells you exactly what kind of a film that it is and who this film is meant to be for. Well we now have yet another film to add to that lost and it's a film that i've been dieing to see simply because of how bad it looks and so then join me as I review the film that is quite possibly worse then the 2021 film Karen with the film in question being called simply just "They/Them" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a group of teenagers are sent to a conversion camp and while there a killer starts to kill of not only them but the people that work at the camp as well. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual  plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad since it really doesn't have much of a plot to speak to of and so this film just comes across as being pretty aimless in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is this films executive producer Kevin Bacon as Owen Whistler , Theo Germaine as Jordan Lewis and Anna Chlumsky as Molly Erickson. Also starring in this film is Carrie Preston as Cora Knox , Quei Tann as Alexandra Traven , Austin Crute as Toby O'Neal , Anna Lore as Kim Hartman , Monique Kim as Veronica Lim , Cooper Koch as Stuart Smith Williams , Darwin Del Fabro as Gabriel Hernandez , Hayley Griffith as Sarah Kahan , Boone Platt as Zane Maximoff and Mark Ashworth as Balthazar Riggs.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. With alot of this films cast turning in some very bad performances and not even trying to make this films script work at all in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film does feature the return of Kevin Bacon to the horror genre since 2000's Hollow Man and I have to say that he's the best actor in this film. He really does look like that he's enjoying himself in this film which really caught me of guard since as far as i'm a where he very rarely plays the villain in a film and so to see him quite clearly having a blast in this film was a great thing to see in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

If this film was a horror comedy then I think that it would have been a much better film however this film plays it all straight. Which is a shame because the very set up for this film allows you to tell some good jokes and make fun of it's self but for one reason or another the makers of this film chose to play it straight and so then instead of being a fun film it ends up being a very boring film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Unlike Karen this film really isn't self-aware which makes it alot less fun of a film to watch and it makes a film that's just straight up bad. Which is a shame because even tho Karen is a bad film it's at least so bad it's good and you can at least laugh at how bad it is but here tho because of the fact that this film isn't self-aware at all it strips this film of being fun to watch which is what every single horror film should be and yes that even goes for all of the bad horror films as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.  

What really bugged me about this film is the fact that this films tries it's best to make the kids come across as being the heroes and yet it also shows them willfully killing a defenceless animal. As well as having one of them almost kill a person and so when you do that you can't make these characters be the heroes because you've just shown our main character willfully kill an animal yes the film does give an in story reason as to why he had to do it but when you give a character that choice and then not have the character show any kind of remorse then you've made that character look like an evil person in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this film has / had an exact total running time of exactly one hour and forty four minuets and six seconds. Which is a very long time for a film that's this lacking in story to last and as such this film does feel a lot longer then what it actually is and as such I really do think that this film should  have at the very least have been one hour and fifteen minuets since that's all the running time that this film has story for in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So then apparently this is a slasher film and so then that means that I have to actually talk abut the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film are in all honesty OK at best. I say this because this film commits the one biggest sin that all slasher films should never commit and that's the fact that it barely shows us any of the kills on screen and what little kills we do get to see are fairly freaking tame kills in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. 

Overall this film had the potential to at the very least be so bad it's good but it doesn't even reach that with a cast that can barely be bothered to act and the fact that it plays it straight just rips out any fun that could have been had with this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 3 out of 10 from me.
