Mouseboat Massacre Film Review

Why is it now a thing to make horror films where Mickey Mouse is the main villain as while yes granted he is the public domain but there's only so long that you can keep making movies with him as the main horror villain before the novelty starts to wear off. Which is something that's happening alot more sooner then later as every indie filmmaker under the sun are making horror movies with Disney icon being the main villain with the latest one having dropped about a few days ago now and since i've reviewed quite literally all of the others that have been released and shall continue to do so it makes sense that I review this film as well and so then join me as I review the film tries to blend in elements from The Ring and the Evil Dead remake for no apparent reason whatsoever with the film in question being called simply just "Mouseboat Massacre" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a family head to a lake house to help with getting one member of their family off of drugs they find themselves being targeted by killer known only as The Mouse. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad as it not only rip off plot elements from The Ring with the killer only being unleashed after one of them watches a video tape but the whole escaping to a cabin inn the woods idea to get someone off of drugs is ripped right off of the 2013 Evil Dead remake and for extra measure they also rip off elements from Friday The 13th: The New Blood only this film doesn't understand what it was that made those elements work for well in those films with this films plot coming across as being generic and by the numbers as you can tell right away how this films plot is going to go and really it goes the exact same way that you think that it will go as that's just how predictable that this films plot is as it had nothing new or even the slightest bit original to it that makes this films plot standout from all of the other Mickey Mouse themed horror films that are out there right now with it hitting all of the plot beats that you think that's going to it and because of that it comes across as being dull boring and predictable as well with the plot of this film not even being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kathi DeCouto as Connie , Joseph Emms as Nigel Jackson and Keith Eyles as Stu Jackson. Also starring in this film is Lauren Leppard as Mimi Jackson , Atlanta Moreno as Phoenix , Shayli Reagan as Sarah ,Victor Rios as Simon , Sam Rowlands as A Policeman , Mouse Of Horrors and Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey star Natasha Tosini as Blaire Jackson , Iveta Drulyte as Helen Jackson and Jay Robertson as The Mouse.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not as bad as it could have been. As by all rights this films acting should have stunk to the high heavens as not only do these kinds of films typically have bad acting in them anyway but all of this films actors are a bunch of really unknown actors and therefor it could have been foolish to expect good performances from the in the first place and that's exactly what we get as all of this films actors turn in some decent performances in this film and while this films acting will never win any kind of awards it was never going to do due to how bad that this film was in the first place with this films best actor being Lauren Leppard as Mimi Jackson as she has to play a character who constantly on edge all throughout the film and then switch it up when she starts getting these visions of her family members and her therapist being brutally murdered which only adds to the stress that the character is already going through in the first place and to be Lauren Leppard does play the character really well with her scene with her father Keith Eyles being the best acted scene in the whole movie and while Jay Robertson does look rather impressive as The Mouse as he is quite a tall person which does make the character look physically imposing he just doesn't have the acting skills needed to pull the character off with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Even tho this this film has pretty much the exact grand total running time that you'd expect a film like this one to have. The makers of this film thought that it would be a very good idea to have the films opening prolog be a whopping seven minuets long which if this film was alot more nearer two hours wouldn't be an issue as you still have a good chunk of film in which you can still fully develop all of your character and the plot of the film however this film isn't even one hour and thirty minuets long and so those seven minuets is time that could have been better used in fully developing the films plot and characters except now it's being spent on a prolog that has very little to know impact on the plot of the main film as all it is is showing us three characters getting killed and that's really it and while there deaths are referenced later on in the film as well that still doesn't justify the prolog being that long as you still could have gotten across all of the information that you needed to in about three to four minuets just by having one character be killed with the others killed off screen as the only real reason for these films to have a prolog is to get to the killer alot more quicker so it wouldn't really matter if we had a few off screen deaths at the start of the movie regardless and yet for some odd reason the makers of this film thought that it was a good idea to devote that long time to characters that we are never going to see again in the main body of the film when that's time that should have been spent in developing the plot of the film and the films characters as those are two most important things that you need in order to make an actually good film.

It doesn't really need saying who the main villain of this film as you can tell right from the films poster just who it is. As yes it's one again Mickey Mouse and to be frank it's getting dull seeing all of these Mickey Mouse themed horror movie come out in such a short space of time and what makes this worse is the fact that the indie filmmakers are going to keeping on making them because of the fact that there cheap and easy to make and while every once in a while you get a Screamboat where that the films version of Mickey Mouse still acts like his cartoon counterpart only now it's done with a more sinister edge to it you nine times out of ten get films like this where the only reason for the film being made is the fact that they have a beloved cartoon character killing people with it once again being made clear as day that that's where all of the effort goes when films as bad as this one come out as there's very little redeeming qualities about this film as even there version of Mickey Mouse acts nothing like him outside of the fact that he's wearing a mouse mask and lives on a boat and that's really it and while the idea of him living on a boat is a good idea that the film does use near the end it's really only there because of the fact that the only Mickey Mouse cartoon to enter the public domain is Steamboat Willie and that's really it as the boat adds nothing to the film so much so that you could remove the idea of him living on a boat from the film entirely and nothing that's actually important to the plot of the film would be lost as it has no impact on the film as a whole but credit where it's due this films version of the Mickey Mouse character does look good grated he's just wearing a mouse mask and some overalls but it is still a good look and one that does suit this version of the character.

As was mention at the start of this review this film borrows elements from other and quite frankly better horror films. Which does make the makers of this film seem quite lazy which is something that does make alot of sense as the writer of this film is also the same person that co-wrote the so bad that it's good Mikey Mouse horror themed movie Mouse Of Horrors Harry Boxley with him even writing the pretty average Popeye's Revenge as well so it's safe to say that his guy has really found his niche in writing bad horror movies where the sole selling point is the fact that the killer is a beloved kids cartoon character and yet even tho there still needs to be something original in the film as even Mouse Of Horrors had an original setting to it so this writer can come up with original elements but for one reason or another he just chooses not to which is something that does make him seem like a lazy writer but to be fair tho he is working on alot of movies as the main writer for them and so there are going to be times where we get nothing new or original followed by one maybe two films where the premise is an original idea with this film being one of the few times where he just couldn't come up with an original idea and so he just went with what he knew worked in the past but in doing so he's quite clearly showing that he has no idea what it was that made those ideas work so well in the first place as the idea of having a killer video tape be linked to the killer worked in The Ring because it meant that no matter how far you ran the killer will still get you thus making the killer this unstoppable force of nature and the idea of having someone have these visions worked in Friday The 13th: The New Blood worked because it gave Jason a unique hero to up against and the idea of going to a cabin in the woods to help someone get off of something worked in Evil Dead 2013 worked because those characters were actually likable characters who were just trying to do their best for Mia and all of those things are missing from this film thus meaning that while the ideas are solid there lacking what it was that made them work so well in the first place.

To say that this films characters are bad would be a huge understatement as all of this films are badly written characters. With absolutely none of them having anything interesting about them whatsoever and while this films characters aren't the typical kind of characters that you'd usually find in a slasher film there also characters have nothing to them as none of them have any personality trait and all of them are just forgettable characters heck it would have a huge improvement if this film just copied and pasted characters tropes from and better horror films as that would at least sow that some effort went into this films characters but they didn't even do that with all of this films characters coming across as being very note with the parents coming across as only caring about Mimi as they just straight up ignore what there other kids are up to even when there eldest son Nigel is missing for hours they just don't do anything and assume that he's on a date with a girl that he met on the way up to the lake and they don't even bother talking to Blaire other then just to tell her not to let Mimi out of her room and that's it with even the dad just straight up yelling at the top of his lungs to Mimi the very kid that he's there to help get off of drugs with none of the kids fearing any better as both Blaire and Nigel have about as much personality as a blank wood and contribute nothing to the film other then being victims for The Mouse and that's really it with the only somewhat decently written character being our final girl Mimi as she has to try to convince her parents that there son is in serious danger which even tho they know that he's been missing for quite a while now still ignore her warnings for no good reason and even Mimi isn't that well written as she has no personality to her whatsoever and is only somewhat interesting noy because of the fact that she's written well or anything like that rather it's just because of the fact that she's the main character and that's really it.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets and fifty one seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time that you'd expect one of these films to have with this film having more then enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time however tho this film really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as it doesn't develop the plot at all and the same thing is also true for the films characters as none of them get any sort of character developed whatsoever with the plot of the film remaining as bare bones as it was every going to be and the characters basically just being there for the sake of being there and while we do get some backstory for The Mouse character it's oddly confusing as he was a mouse that wanted to be human after a scientist did some research on it to make it as tall as the average human being which they never explain why he's as tall as he is and nor do they explain why he seems to summoned whenever someone watches this one creepy and very badly done animated video either both of which are things that should have been explained as they would have added to the characters backstory but because the makers of this film thought that having a seven minuet long prolog in a film that's just over one hour and twenty minuets was a good idea we are now left characters that can't be that well developed as the film has to get to the next plot point quickly and the plot can't be that well developed because of the fact that there's a huge seven minuet long prolog at the start of the film with those seven minuet being time that could have been spent on either developing the plot of film or the films characters but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this films kills being some of the best aspects of this film as alot of this films kills are some really creative kills that show alot of this films practical effects which is quite clearly where alot of this films budget went as the rest of the film looks bland and average but the films gore and practical effects actually look pretty decent with the best kill in the whole film being the kill when The Mouse uses a chainsaw to kill off Nigel as not only do we get a really impressive and creative kill out of it but we also get alot of gore out of it as well something that is also true for all of this films kills as well as there does seem to be alot of gore used in all of this films kills and while having some really impressive kills is indeed a step in the right direction for this film none of it means anything because of the fact that this film really doesn't give us the audience a chance to like any of it's characters and therefor we don't feel anything when they die and heck even the killer goes out in a weak way as well as he gets bludgeoned to death by Mimi and that's it which is a rather underwhelming death for this character to have and it's alot of the same thing for alot of this films kills as even tho the kills are decent and really creative because of the fact that the film doesn't give us a reason to care for any of it's characters us the audience don't feel anything when one of them does die in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of all of the Mickey Mouse based horror films that are out there this one is one of the worst ones but it's not the worst one tho as that honor goes to The Mouse Trap with this film still trying to be a decent film as there are some decent ideas in this film the issue is tho is that this film doesn't develop anything that it sets up which makes them feel rather undercooked and wasted in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now the  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does earn that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Now hen as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Screamboat Film Review

Much like Popeye it's shockingly been really popular to adapt Mickey Mouse into a slasher villain which in this case does make alot of sense as he is the more popular character of the two. With the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today actually being one of the better ones out there simply due to the fact that this film actually has alot of effort put into it and so then join me as I review the film that quite literally brings Mickey Mouse into the world of live action with the film in question being called simply just "Screamboat" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a group of passengers aboard a ferry start to get killed off one by one it's up to a few of them to work who or better yet what is killing them and for what reason. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as it was a really fun filled plot as it not only mimics the plot of Steamboat Willie but it also takes it in a fresh a new direction something that alot of these Mickey Mouse based horror films haven't done as they all just rely on the fact that Mickey Mouse is the main villain and that's really it where as here the makers of this film actually but in effort into crafting a plot that whilst it won't ever win any kind of awards is still a plot that knows that's not that good and there for just allows itself to be a fun and dumb plot but one that's also dumb in all of the right ways as well with this films plot being as fully developed as it was ever likely to be but at the same time tho it would have been nice if the plot of this film was a bit more developed then what it ended up being as that would have helped out this film in the long run as it would have made this films plot alot more better then what it is as right now while yes this films plot is alot more better then what it really had any right to be it's also not as good as it really could have been either with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Allison Pittel as Selena , Jesse Posey as Pete and Amy Schumacher as EMT Amber. Also starring in this film is Jesse Kove as Lieutenant Diaz , Kailey Hyman as Cindi , Rumi C. Jean-Louis as Matteo , Jarod Lindsey as Moses , Sarah Kopkin as Ilsa Arindel , Savannah Whitten as Ariana , Stephanie Bates as Bella , Poonam Basu as Jazzy , Allyson Sereboff as Aubrey , Jarlath Conroy as Barry , Jared Johnston as Neil and David Howard Thornton as Steamboat Willie.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in al honesty not that bad. With all of this films actors really trying their best to make this films script work for them and given that alot of this films actors aren't that well known it would also be a really foolish to expect good or even great acting from them in this film film and yet that's exactly what we get as all of this films actors turn in some really good performances in this very film and because of that they really do own there characters and make the best use of all of their screen time in this film with the best actor in this film quite easily being David Howard Thornton as Steamboat Willie as he is so quite clearly having the time of his life playing this character and it is something that really does shine through in his performance as well as with the character being mostly silent throughout the whole film David Howard Thornton has to get across just what the character is thinking and feeling with just his body language and that is something that he does with ease so much so that alot of the best scenes in the movie involve his character as his performance as the character is just that good with the acting that's in this very film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

This film has the one thing that both The Mouse Trap and Mouse of Horrors didn't have and that's actual thought and effort put into it. As you can tell right from the first shot of the movie that the makers of this film knew what they were doing and actually took the time needed to make this film the best that it could possibly be as the other two films where in production within days of the rights to Steamboat Willie being free where as with this film while yes it was announced the very next after Steamboat Willie went into public domain it took a while for them to get the film made as they were just trying to perfect the film and make it as could as it could have been and that is something that really does shine through in the final cut of the film as everything feels like that's in there for a reason and the fact that alot of the film actually had extra's and high production value only serves to make this film look alot more better then the other two films where as they look and feel cheap and while all three of these films are very cheaply made here with this film you really can't tell with it looking like a decently budgeted horror film instead of being a small budgeted horror film and while that production value doesn't extend to how they portray Mickey Mouse in certain scenes as it looks like that they quite literally use a toy version of the character as it looks that bad the overall production value for this film was really high with it being quite clear as day that the makers of this film prioritized making a good film first and the fact that Mickey Mouse is the main villain is secondary as they know that without the first part it won't matter who the main villain is because your audience will already be checked out.

If you thought that Mickey Mouse would be the only Disney character to get featured in this film you were wrong. As a shockingly high amount of the Disney Princess's all appear in this movie with Cindi , Ariana , Jazzy , Bella , Ilsa  and Rory all being named after classic Disney Princess's but there not only ones tho as even characters from Sofia The First get featured in this film with the character of Amber being a main character in tis film and even Selena dresses up as the version of Minnie Mouse from Steamboat Willie with even the character of Pete being named after the character of the same name which does go to show you that the makers of this film knew full well what type of film that they were making and instead just hiding away from the fact that there making something that's based off of a Disney character they fully embraced so much so that even one of the films trailers not only had the classic Disney font but also that old school Disney vibe to it as well with this being the right approach t take when your making a film like this as while yes making something serious like Blood And Honey works just as well it works even better if you have a good understanding that what your making isn't going to be that good and that sometimes embracing the silliness that does come with these characters works even better then playing it straight does and because of that this film is allowed to be alot more fun and have alot more goofy moments in it and the film does work really well because of the fact that it's fully embracing the silliness that does come with the fact that these characters were originally cartoon characters and heck the film even has Minnie Mouse appear right at the very end of the movie as that's just how corny and goofy that this film really is.

While this film does have quite alot of things going for it sadly it does have some things that do work against it. Like the fact that the films characters aren't developed with all of them just feeling like cardboard cutouts of much more better characters this is especially true for the characters that are meant to be the Disney Princess's as outside of having either the same name or a slightly altered name none of them have that much of personality outside of copying what there Disney character did which is a shame as those were some of the more entertaining parts of the movie with those characters even getting some of the best jokes in the film but because the fact that there not that well developed as characters it means that us the audience do feel nothing when they do die and are left just waiting for them to die as well and it's sadly like that with alot of the films other characters as well as due to there being quite alot of main characters and such a short amount of running time the film can't really give them all the screen time that they need to be fully developed characters so much so that the only thing that is memorable about alot of them is the fact that there spoofing Disney characters and that's really it and while this film is a comedy the comedy can at times be annoying as the Princess stand ins have this annoying accent to them that is really hard to describe but while it is something that works for there characters and makes the comedy from them funny it also makes them really annoying to have to listen to as well and even the film's main character of Selena isn't that well developed of a character as the only thing that we get to find out about her character is that she wants to leave New York City and that's it.

With this film being a horror comedy the film does actually have alot of really funny jokes in it with almost all of this films jokes working and landing really hard. Like the fact that when Cindi thinks that she's gotten away from Steamboat Willie she hides behind exactly where he can kill her and the film just cuts to him pointing this put before going on to kill her which was just such a darkly funny joke and it's one that really did work in this film as does the fact that at the start of the movie Selena reveals that she's trying to get away from Princess type characters which might not be funny on it's own but preceding that big reveal the film shoots , edits and scores her big introductory scene like she's being chased by the killer thus making that big reveal a pretty funny joke but that's not the best joke in the film as that honor goes to something that Steamboat Willie does as after he's killed the captain of the boat he just straight up recreates the famous whistling scene from Steamboat Willie complete with the whistle which just such a funny joke with that joke being the one the sold me on this movie as it was made clear by that point that this film is firmly tongue in cheek and that the makers of this film knew what kind of film that they were making and so they just decided to go all in and make this film the must fun film that could have done and while the Disney Princess jokes at the start were pretty fun as heck Ariana straight up says that she wants to be where the people are and a another character says to Belle to be our guest they did get quite annoying as it was getting to the point where all they did was start to remind you that you could be watching a much more better movie thus taking you out of this one but when this film tells a really joke it is a really good and painfully funny joke.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty two minuets and thirteen seconds. Which is a bit on the long side for one these horror films to last with this film having just about the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this film really doesn't use its running time all that wisely either as neither the plot nor it's characters are that well developed which is pretty much par the course for one of these horror films as none of them have that well developed plots or characters but it is something that is still an issue as the film could have been alot more better and still be this dumb film with this dumb plot if the plot was a bit more developed as there are large portions of the film very early on where nothing is happening to advance the plot of the film and it's in those scenes where things could have been added that do develop the the films plot a bit more with the same thing also being true for the films characters as well as on paper they could have been some really good characters but because of the fact that alot of the film is spent with this bad mystery of who is doing these kills when it really doesn't need to do that thanks to the films poster and because of that it does meant that the films characters can't be that well developed and so we are left with a bunch of characters that we can't form a connection with as the film doesn't give us a reason to care for them and instead leaves us cheering for the films villain which even then is mostly just due to how entertaining that actor David Howard Thornton in in the role but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With it being this films kills that are actually one of the more entertaining parts of the film as we get to see just how creative Steamboat Willie is even given the fact that he's quite literally the size of a mouse which given the character that he's meant to be was a nice touch as it now means that he does have to get really creative with his kills something that he does put to great use all throughout this film as we do get some really cool and unique kills from this character from his just straight up using some wire to cut the captain's head off to impaling two of the girls there are alot of kills to be found in this film so much so that it's hard to say just what the best kill of this film is as realistically anyone of this films kills could make that claim but for the shear entertainment factor alone it would have to go do to the death of boat's captain as while being strangled with wire so tight that your head gets cut off because isn't that new of a kill it's the fact that they do the famous whistling scene from Steamboat Willie directly after it that does make it the best kill in the movie as it was a very entertaining scene to watch in this movie and was the perfect blend between horror and comedy as there was plenty of more comedic moments spread out all throughout that kill like the fact that due to the captain's large neck Willie does get frustrated and starts to whistle all other again which was a darkly funny thing to see in this film and something that made that kill standout from all of the others in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the three Mickey Mouse based horror movies that have been released thus far this is quite easily the best of the bunch as this film still stays true to the spirit of the original Steamboat Willie but still puts it's own horror spin on the story but with that being said it's still not all that good of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score old exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the mages that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because the official Scream fandom wiki page actually has images from this film really are up and on the Google Image and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Mouse Of Horrors Film Review

For some strange reason indy horror makers have this fascination of turning Mickey Mouse into a slasher villain. As this film is the first of at least FOUR maybe even more then that Mickey Mouse based slasher films that are due to come out this year as we also have the very recently announced I Heart Willie , Screamboat and The Mouse Trap: Welcome To The Mickeyverse all of which feature the mouse as a slasher villain and that does seem like over kill as it can kill the novelty of having a beloved childrens characters be the villain in the a slasher movie and so then join me as I review the review the film that features not one but TWO Disney characters as the villains with the film in question being called simply just "Mouse Of Horrors" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a bunch of teenager go to the fair where they stalked by a man dressed as a mouse and one dressed as a bear both of which are trying to kill them for there body parts and both of which the teens must avoid if they want to survive the night. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad as it just seems like a carbon copy of the plot of The Mouse Trap only done a little bit better with this films plot not really being all that interesting either as it's clear that this films plot was a n afterthought once the idea of the making Mickey Mouse the main villain came into the minds of the people that made this film and as such this films plot is one that on paper should have worked but due to the fact that nothing about this films plot feels all that well thought out and developed it instead comes across as being good idea that was wasted on a good film and even if this film did copy The Mouse Trap with it's setting and killer they still should have learned from the mistakes of that films plot and at least put in some effort into crafting a good story which is something that the makers of this film sadly don't do with the plot of this film not really being really rather entertaining nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Lewis Santer as The Killer , Stephen Staley as The Bear and Chris Lines as Dr. Rupert. Also starring in this film is Natasha Tosini as Chloe , Allie Moreno as Kim , Erin Sanderson as Meg , Rosie Edwards as Lucy , Harry Giubileo as Charlie , Nichaela Farrell as Brandy , Jake Watkins as Jake , Danielle Scott as Taylor , Thomas K. Murphy as Michael , Tessa Wood as Janet , Eve Vice as Dana , Misti Taylor as Molly , Johnny Vivash as Paul Chamberland , Nicholas Soden as Ryan The Runner , Michelle Bauer as Silvia Sand and Geretta Geretta as Sinthia Sharp.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just as bad as you'd really want it to be. As let's be honest here these types of slasher movies don't really command good acting in them and while some of them do have some decent acting in them like Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 for example this film is not that film as the acting in this film whilst it's not as bad as the acting in The Mouse Trap was it's still pretty bad but at the same time tho you can tell that all of the films actors are at least trying to make the films script work for them the issue is tho is that this films director and producer Brendan Petrizzo really has no idea of how to get a good performance out of his actors and as such all of this films actors just feel lost and unsure of what kind of performance to give in this film as there just so unsure of what to do in this film from a performance perspective with this films acting not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities is even meant to be in the first place which s something that really does help to lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

As was mentioned at the start of this review this film does technically have two Disney characters as it's main villains. With the other one being oddly enough Winnie The Pooh with the makers of this film even using the original design from the first Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey film even down to the cheap looking mask and while this film is NOT set within the confides of the Twisted Childhood Universe it does feel weird seeing that version of Winnie The Pooh show up in this movie and it's not like he's a just a cameo character either he plays a slightly big role in the film and is in it quite alot and this is something that does make you wonder why the makers of this film even watched the first Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey film because if they did then they'd know that people hated that look for the character so much so that the makers of the sequel actually took the time to improve upon the characters design which just makes the makers of this film look lazy as they use the design that nobody liked all for no reason and while yes the character is in the public domain it still doesn't change the fact that the makers of this film didn't bother to change anything about the look of the character to make it fit there world and instead chose to go with the design and mask that alot of people who would watch this film would straight away pick up on as this is something that does also make there film look even more cheaper then what it already is.

In case it's not made clear by both the name of the movie nor who the main villain's mask and name is meant to be but one of this films main villains is quite clearly Mickey Mouse. While having Mickey Mouse as the main villain does indeed have it's novelty it's one that thanks to low budget indie horror film makers it's one that's sadly starting to loose it's novelty as there's only so many times that you can see this character turned into a horror film villain before it's not only starts to get old but also really boring as well say what you will about the Winnie The Pooh horror films but at least there was only two of them so far thus meaning that the novelty of seeing that character in a horror film setting is still there and yet with Mickey Mouse we are due to get dozens of them all within the next five years alone and that is something that is ultimately going to do more harm then good as by the time the last one comes out whenever that is no matter how good that film might look nobodies going to want to see as they've already seen a horror film where Mickey Mouse is the main villain some times waiting and seeing is the best thing and if your not going to do anything new with the character then what's the point as this film doesn't do anything new or interesting with the character as it's just a man dressed up in a Mickey Mouse mask and that's it and yet the film does nothing interesting with the fact that it has someone who is blatantly meant to be Mickey Mouse as it's main villain something that it very easily could have done with just a few lines of dialog and that in the end would help the film standout more from all of the other Mickey Mouse based horror films both out there and that are yet to come as well.

While it is hard to say just how big this films budget was exactly it's clear as day that this film didn't have a very big budget. As the films has a passable Mickey Mouse mask and it straight up reuses the Winnie The Pooh design from Blood And Honey 1 but this film also has some really painfully laughable CGI which makes the effects in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania look good by comparison with all of this films CGI effect being the best part of the film just due to how bad that they are and no joke one of them near the end of the movie is so bad and so laughable that I had to actually stop and rewind the movie just so I could see it again as it's just that bad granted this film would have a very small budget but you have to work within your limitations or find creative solutions something that the makers of this film quite clearly didn't do as they didn't work within there limitations at all and they didn't find creative solutions to all of the bad looking CGI look say what you will about The Mouse Trap but at least that film worked within it's small budget and found creative solutions that came up because of it's small budget here the bad CGI and the bad sound effects whilst they do make the film really painfully to watch to watch they also emphasise just how cheap that this movie was to maker with that quality really dragging the film down even further as at least with the first Blood And Honey film for the most part barring the bad costumes for both Piglet and Winnie The Pooh you couldn't tell that that film had a really mall budget where as here you can tell right from the first shot that this has a really small budget.

To give this film some very small amount of credit it does know exactly what kind of film that it is and because of that the film does become more of a horror comedy then a straight up slasher film. With some of this films jokes working and others just not working all together which is exactly the route that indie horror film makers should take when there making a beloved kids animated TV show character in a horror villain as then they can lean into the campiness of the original character and lean into the cheesiness that films like this do more often then not have and it's when this film leans into those elements that it does become more fun to watch and actually watchable but the film doesn't lean into those very elements all that often and even when it does it's usually for a scene or two and that's really it with the rest of the film completely playing it straight which means that the concept of having Mickey Mouse as the main villain doesn't really work as the film can't have any fun with that idea and when the whole film banks on that idea working then everything else surrounding the film just straight up doesn't work as we the audience aren't here to watch this films dreadful attempt at compelling or even good character we want to see Mickey Mouse act as a villain for a change and part of that does mean leaning into the more campy and more cartoonish aspects of the character instead of only going half way which makes the film alot less fun to watch when a film like this just due to it's concept alone really should be the most fun to watch.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty three minuets and twenty six. Which is pretty much the bogstandard for all of these Mickey Mouse based horror films and while the film does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time this film really didn't need to be this long as you very easily could have cut this film down to about one hour hour and fifteen minuets and you wouldn't loose anything that's actually important to the plot of the film as the plot isn't that well developed in the first place. With this film not even taking that full advantage of it's running time by developing it's characters as all of this films characters both hero and villain are just very one dimensional and bland characters with it being obvious that the makers of this film don't care about making us the audience actually care for it's characters as they thought that having Mickey Mouse be the main villain would be more then enough to get people to watch the film and while that might be the case if you want your film to actually be good then you need to have good characters and a good plot to go with them otherwise what's the point in even trying to make a film a first place as your audience just won't care about your characters and if our audience doesn't care about your characters the you've already lost the battle but I really will admit that this film really does have some really bad pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As this film does have some really good looking gore and kills in it but what lets this film is the one thing that lets alot of this film down and that's the fact that it's a cheap film that in this case also has alot of really cheap sounding sound effects and while that might sound like a nit pick but a good sound effect can make or break a kill as every kill in every slasher movie ha to sound like it hurt to watch and in this case they just don't as they sound like alot of sound effects that you can use for free which is great if your making a home movie with your friends but for a low budget indie horror movie there really should have been more effort into creating actually good hearing sound effects as those will make the kills alot better with this film not having a standout kill as the sound effects just kill every little bit of tension that the film does at least try to build up and while all of the kills in this very do have some decent gore effects in them those aren't enough to make up for the poor sounding sound effects as all they do is remind you that your watching a very bad movie which is something that just isn't the case for either of the Blood And Honey films as they at least have decent sounds effects that make the kills in those movie actually sound like that they actually really do indeed hurt in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while The Mouse Trap was the worst movie that I watched last year this one is very serious contender for my worst movie of this year as it's just a flat out bad movie that can at times be a chore to sit through and watch but when this film does get entertaining it can also be a really entertaining film to watch as well you just have to sit through alot of the bad stuff to get to a few moments of the good stuff in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images hat I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and a well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , Tenor and Google Images.
