Pinocchio: Unstrung Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

Whilst alot of indie horror film studios are jumping on the band wagon of making cheaply made horror films out of beloved kids cartoon characters the one studio that started it all was Jagged Edge Productions. Well there've just released the latest entry in there Twisted Childhood Universe with this even boasting a couple of legendary horror actors in it and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that is quite easily better then Bambi: The Reckoning with the film in film in question being called simply just "Pinocchio: Unstrung" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a grandfather makes his grandson a puppet to keep him company the puppets naive nature leads to him getting the urge to kill something which the boy and his group of friends must stop before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. To be frank this films plot really does have no right being as good as it isas by all rights this films plot should have been a very paint by numbers slasher plot where you can predict all of the plot points coming a mile away. Yet with this film you really do have no idea of where the plot is going with this being something that does make you want to keep on watching the film and heck speaking purely from a plot point of view this might be the best Twisted Childhood Universe film as alot of them do have these predictable plots to them and yet here with this film you no idea of where the plot is taking you or where it's going to go next and while yes the films plot could have been alot more stronger in some aspects it's alot alot more better then the plots of films like for example Popeye Returns of Betty's Revenge as with this plot there is alot effort put into making good and out into making you care about the plot in the first place granted it's not as good as say the plot of Scream VI but for the type of horror film that this is it is a good plot in it's own way the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Jude-Evan Lloyd as the voice of Pinocchio and Robert Englund as the voice of the Cricket. Also starring in this film is Batman Begins star Richard Brake as Geppetto , Cameron Bell as James , Karolina Knight , Amanda , Mya Brown as Georgia , Jack Art Gray as Dudley , Luca Marandola as Logan , Toni Olabanji as Trey , Elliott Spilling as Zach , William Turnbull as Daniel and Jessica Balmer as Mia.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. The fact that this films acting is about as it is is something that you do expect not only from the Twisted Childhood Universe films but also from other films like this as well with the main difference here being the fact that this films writer , producer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is actually trying to get a good performance out of his actors and while some of the kid actors are really bad as it usually the case with kid actors the acting from the adults especially Richard Brake and Robert Englund is top notch with of them showing of why they are in there own rights horror acting legends. However neither of them are the films best actor as the best actor in this film is Cameron Bell as James as even tho he is a kid actor in this film he is just so good in this film and heck even tho this is only his first ever feature film the kid does have a really great future ahead of him in acting should this be a path that he chooses to go down further, with him being shockingly good in this film as his performance really does anchor the entire film with Cameron brining his own likable charm to the character which is something that really does shine through in his performance in this film. With the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film. 

This films characters are where the film does somewhat start to dip in quality as alot of them just aren't that good in the first place. As alot of the side characters are very note characters who are just there to be killed of and really nothing more then that with the best example of this being the character of Dudley who adds quite literally nothing to the films plot and it just there to tell us how amazing Pinocchio as a toy puppet is and that's not enough to to fully justify him being a character in the film as alot of his lines could have been given to any one else in the film and it would have made just as much sense and the character of Mia is just there to be the token girl character as outside of the fact that she's the only one of the there group of friends who can drive she adds nothing to the film. However tho where the films characters do pick is both in the side characters and with Pinocchio's side characters as we all know The Cricket from all of the various adaptations of the book with him here not really acting as Pinocchio's conscience as here he is one of two characters that are actively trying to get Pinocchio t commit these crimes in the first film with the other being a wood creature, Pinocchio himself was about as well handled as he always is with the film not really doing any thing all that knew with him as a character which is fair enough as there is only so much that you could do with him as a character. The films main two human character Geppetto and James where actually quite good with Geppetto being a grandfather that does genuinely love his grandson James so much so that he does create Pinocchio just to keep James company and James is a sweet and innocent kid who is just lovable.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you've been following these films from the very beginning then you will spot some easter eggs and some cameos from other characters like for example we either have Peter DeSouza-Feighoney as Michael Darling or one of this films producers Scott Chambers as Christopher Robin. As it could be either character that we see in a hospital scene talking to James but either way it was fun to see either character as it does hit home the point that these films are meant to be set in the same fictional world with the cameo being done tastefully as they do appear in a scene where there character would naturally appear and aren't just forced into the film as a way for us fans of these films to get mildly excited like they very easily could have been. Heck even the cover to one of the songs that a character is listening to is one of the posters for the first Blood And Honey film with Winnie The Pooh being plastered front and centre which is a nice little tip of the hat to where these films began as opposed to where they are now and again much like with the cameos the film doesn't really linger on it all that much as it's just a quick shot and then the film moves on but it is still nice to see the makers of this film not only giving us glimpses as to where the characters are now but are also tipping there hat to where they began these films and the very rough state that they were in and yet due to the fact that they were more then willing to listen to the fans and fix the issues that people had with the first film in the second film it does mean that there is alot more effort put into these film as opposed to any of the other film where the main villain is a classic kids character, while it the film would work without these cameos and easter eggs as they don't really add anything to the plot of the film they were still fun things to put in and The Twisted Childhood Universe is now at that point where they have build up enough good will where they can afford to put in things like this and not have it be distracting from the main film.

While there are alot of things that this film does indeed get right it sadly does get alot of things wrong like for example the fact that they do a surprise reveal with Geppetto actually being the main villain of the film which does feel a little bit cliche. With the other thing being the fact that the film does go over board with making sure to give James this overly dramatic and depressing back story where his parents are killed and then one of his best friends are killed none of which was needed as they add nothing to the film other then being a way to explain why he is is staying with Geppetto in the first first place which even then you could change to him staying with because of the fact that he lives closer to James's school or his parents are away on holiday either one would have made sense. Speaking of James's school the makers of the film can't decide on if he goes to a private boarding school or not as the film does go out of it's way to say that Geppetto is insanely rich therefor it would make sense that he would send his apparently only grandchild to a boarding school with the school itself even looking like a boarding school and yet for some odd reason the school allows the students to go home every day which defeats the entire purpose of it being a boarding school in the first place and whilst yes this is a only a very minor issue in the grand scheme of things it is something that did drive me crazy watching the film as it really does look a boarding school and while the plot of the film isn't effected by this it is something that the makers of this film could have addressed with a line of dialog from one of the characters with them saying that it used to be a boarding school but is now just a regular school that right there would addressed this minor issue head on.

Let's talk about the twist with Geppetto as while it does make sense that the film would have him be a surprise villain. Given everything that we've seen with the character it really doesn't add up as everything that we've seen with him does make him out to be this kind old man that is genuinely trying to do what's best for his grandson with the two of them even having some sweet and fun scenes together and yet we are still supposed to buy into the fact that at the end of the film he is this cold blooded killer that right there just doesn't add up it would have worked if we got to see hints of him turning evil all throughout the film like maybe he does start to mistreat first Pinocchio and then James which granted wouldn't have been much but it would have been something. To be frank here that whole part with Geppetto being evil does feel like more of an excuse to have Richard Brake play another villain which is fine as if you've got someone who is known for playing horror villain then why not cast him to play another one but it is still something that could have been done alot more better with the only thing of good coming from it being the fact that we get to see Pinocchio be the one to kill him as while it would have made sense from an emotional stand point for it to be James to be the one to kill let's be real here the only person that we would want to see Geppetto is Pinocchio as he is meant to be the main villain of the film in the first place, with the fact that Geppetto does end up dying also kind of being tragic in it's own right as now James doesn't have any family left whatsoever which is also true for Pinocchio and while the film of course doesn't address this given the fact that Pinocchio is meant to be appearing in Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble it is something that could be getting addressed in that film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and sixteen minuets and twenty seven seconds. This is quite a short running time for one of these films to have and this is something that is a bit of an issue in it's own right as it does mean that things like the films plot can't be fully set up as by the time that the plot of the film is fully set up then the film over half way done whereas if this film was about fifteen minuets longer then it would have had more then enough time to set up the films plot and it's characters as while the films world won't for obvious reason need setting up its characters and there relationships to each other with the film having more then enough plot there to cover that amount of running time in the first place. With the film not even using its running time all that wisely as due to it having a shorter running time it really can't take the time to fully develop it's already thin plot as it does have to set up first and it can't do that when t's taking it's time to get properly started and when a film is this short every single scene needs to be about advancing the plot of the film and it can't do that when it has to spend so much screen time in first setting up the films plot with the makers of this film being more focused on showing of the Pinocchio puppet then they are in giving us a well developed plot. This is also something that does affect the films character development as well as the films characters can't have the time that they desperately needed in th first place to be well thought as they are now fighting for time with the films plot and yet if this film was just fifteen minuets longer both the plot and the characters would be able to get the development that they both so desperately needed with the makers of this film being more focused of making sure that we cared about James then they are in giving ant of its characters some character development but I really will admi that this film really does have some really good pacing to it ho.

So now then as this is a slasher film tat really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us un this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With the films kills actually being one of the best things about the film in the first place as while this film didn't have a big budget it as spent wisely as you can tell that alot of it went into making the Pinocchio puppet and to the films gore effects as the gore effects in this film are what really sell you on the films kills that they all look good and that was something that they really didn't need to do as the idea of having Pinocchio killing people and taking bit of them is a creepy enough idea that the film could have coasted on just having lame kills. With the best kill in the whole film being the scene where Pinocchio innocently entertaining the schools teachers gym with him just standing there doing nothing when all of the teachers get killed of in really brutal ways with each teachers death being the cause of another death with it all coming coming together when about two maybe three weights crush the face and skull in of a teacher, that whole entire scene is clearly where alot of the films effects budget went as every death in that scene looked like it hurt and while there deaths aren't caused by Pinocchio as he is literally just standing there watching them it is still fun to picture him there in the first place with the rest of the films kills being just as good as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall whilst the last two films in this universe haven't been the best this film is a return to form as it is a really good film that much like with the other films in this series does show that the makers of this film are willing to listen to the fans and give them exactly what they want which in this case does result in a really good film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad ttings that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6,5 out of 10 from me.

Bambi: The Reckoning Film Review

When you think of Cinematic Universes you usually think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and rightfully so as that has been going on for almost twenty years now. However for lovers of horror there is another cinematic universe that is oddly doing quit well for itself with that being The Twisted Childhood Universe as those universe of films started as nothing more then a quick and easy way to make some money with Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey and yet it is still going strong with alot of the films in this universe very slowly but very surely getting better with each passing installment and well they've just released the latest entry into this universe and so then join me as I review the film that features the very first use of CGI in this universe with the film in question being called simply just "Bambi: The Reckoning" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a mother and son have to find a way to survive the forest when they find themselves being hunted down by a deer that's out for revenge for the death of it's own mother. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that' actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us inn this very film was in all honest at best lackluster. Which is something that's to be expected from these types of films but even so there plots are usually pretty decent best and yet here with this film the plot of the film was so weak that it was hard to tell just what the plot of the film was even meant to be at times as the film does make it appear as if it doesn't have one and yet when the film does focus on it's plot it's oddly enough not as fun as a plot like this could have been as by all rights this should have been a really fun plot for a movie that's so bad that it's good and yet for one reason or another it just wasn't as good as it could have been with it feeling like that it was trying to hard to to incorporate the more traditional Bambi elements but without adding anything new to them to make them interesting again and heck it could even be argued that the films subplot is more interesting then this as the Grandma called Mary does technically have a subplot which even then isn't that interesting and could be seen as being quite tasteless for anyone who knows someone that ha the illness that she has and that's really it with the plot of this film not even being really rather entertaining and as well as not even being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Game Of Thrones star Roxanne McKee as Xana , Tom Mulheron as Benji and Nicola Wright as Mary. Also starring in this film is Samira Mighty as Harriet , Alex Cooke as Simon , Russell Geoffrey Banks as Andrew , Joseph Greenwood as Harrison , Catherine Adams as Jo , Ewan Borthwick as Eddie , David Ambler as Rob , Luke Cavendish as Joshua , Adrian Relph as Michael and Big Tobz as Tyler.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As let's be real here nobody expects good or even passable acting from these types of films and while the acting is passable for the most part there are a few instances where the acting takes a nose dive interms of quality like for instance the acting from the actor that's playing the taxi driver is horrendously bad that it borderlines on being laughably bad and the acting from Alex Cooke who is trying to turn in a good performance but just feels like he's holding himself back from going on all out which is the kind of performance that a film like this one really does deserve with the best actor in this whole entire film being Roxanne McKee who seems to be the only one who is actually capable of turning in a good performance as while it's understandable that actor Tom Mulheron won't turn in a good performance as he's just a kid afterall none of this films other actors have that excuse outside of the fact that alot of them have barely acted in anything with even actors like Alex Cooke feeling more miscast then being a straight up bad actor with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does hurt the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film

For once I actually can't say who did the CGI for this film as there no effects company listed anywhere either on the films IMDB page or online. Now hen interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as even tho The Twisted Childhood Universe of films have never really used CGI before they do make the best of use of it here with them keeping the character of Bambi mostly in the shadows which does mask any of the imperfections that there might be with the effect on the character and really this is a character that could only be done in CGI as there would be no way to Bambi as a man in a suit like they did with Winnie The Pooh as it would just look to odd and with them going the full CGI route with the character it does show that the makers of these films are indeed willing to try new things and part of that does include adding in computer effects and while the makers of this film don't always do a good job of making it look like that Bambi was there alot of the time as there are times where you can straight up tell that the films actors where just looking at a ball on a stick or just straight up nothing alot of the time the times that they do make it look like that he was actually there on set the effects on the character do look really good for a low budget film as this films effects will of course not look as good as the effects that are in say Superman 2025 or Deadpool & Wolverine for example as those films had huge effects budgets but for a film that had a really small budget and therefor had a really small effects budget as well this films effects look a damn sight better then what they really had any right to be.

To give these films some credit there has been an attempt to get somewhat better with the likes of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 being a prime example of this. With even the makers of these films being more then willing to listen to what the fans and what they are saying in order to make the next film better then the one that came before here and while Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare did somewhat continue that trend as there was more of an effort to make Peter Pan seem like an actually creepy villain here it felt like it was a case of one step forward two steps back as alot of the good work that they did over the course of Blood And Honey 2 and Neverland Nightmare just wasn't seen here in this film as the film was all mostly shot at night which granted was done to hide alot of the issues with the Bambi effect but it also makes it hard to tell where the characters are even meant to be as well where as with both Neverland Nightmare and Blood And Honey 2 you can tell right away where all of the characters were and therefore if the villain came anywhere near them you knew that someone was getting killed here tho there's nothing like that as all of the locations look the exact same with there being only two examples in the whole film and that's really it and while having the film set at night is great for tension building the film doesn't do that and to be fair it really doesn't need to either as it knows that it's a dumb horror film and isn't afraid to be exactly that but at the same time by having a more varied set of locations that you can very easily tell apart would make it alot more easier for us the audience to tell where the characters are meant to be in relation to one another.

Another thing that the previous two movies did fairly well was give us some decently well done characters. This is again something that this film just doesn't do as to call these characters one dimensional would be an insult to characters that are one dimensional as there really is nothing to any of these characters with alot of them just being there so that Bambi has someone to kill and that's really it as we get to find exactly nothing about any of this films characters be it from the main group of heroes or even the hunters that are hunting Bambi down there's really nothing to any of these characters which feels like an insult to this films actors as now the makers of this film are making an even harder task in acting essentially against nothing as they'd have to add Bambi in later now even harder as the actors themselves will have to struggle to find anything about these characters be it from their personality or what makes them likable in the first place as the only thing that makes the Xana a somewhat likable character is the fact that she actually likes and wants to spend time with her son where as his father Simon doesn't and that's it and while that is a nice thing to have and it is something that does go along way into making the character likable she she also drags her sons Uncle several miles via a caravan which is being driven by her son at high speed to get away from Bambi and when she sees her sons uncles body she shows no signs of remorse of basically sending someone to their death which is something that makes her unlikable and the Grandma Mary she gets it worst of all as all throughout the film we told and shows that sh has dementia only for her to start recovering from it by the end of the movie this is something that just wouldn't happen as once you get dementia that's it your not going to recover from it as it's going to kill you in the end and this is something that people who know someone who has had dementia can attest to.

The film does try to have to the story for Xana and Benji tie into the story of Bambi and his mother with Xana in this case acting out the role of Bambi's mother. This was a great idea as we get to see all throughout the film just how far she is willing to go in order to protect her son even if it's something as basic as not telling him that his dad who he loves dearly won't be coming with them to see his family to protecting him at several times against Bambi himself with this echoing the fact that Bambi's mother does at times when she was alive went to great lengths to protect him with the film even going out of it's way to make sure that we know that the hunters are the films true villains as while Bambi is of course the one killing people he's only doing it because of the fact that the humans took his fawn and he's trying to get the kid back something that any loving parent would of course try to do with Benji's dad Simon in this case filling in the role of the hunter as he wants nothing to do with his son with him even begging his wife at one point to take him and never see him again as all he wants to do is cause havoc and destruction in the forest lives with all of the other hunters Simon including showing such a distain for all of the other animals that live there including Thumper and while it's Benji that ultimately stops Bambi's killing spree by giving the deer the only thing in the world that he wanted it doesn't mean that the Bambi character in this one is a straight up good guy as while yes his intentions are indeed noble it's how he goes about them that makes him the villain as even tho he is an animal and therefor wouldn't be able to go about getting his kid back any other way he still didn't need to kill as many people as he did to get what he wanted as just killing the hunters would have been more then enough to justify him getting his kid back from them.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour hour and fifteen minuets and twenty one seconds. Which does make this film one of if not the shortest film in the The Twisted Childhood Universe series of films with this film having just about the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time but in saying that tho this is a film that really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as it doesn't develop it's plot well enough to the point where it feels like a strong enough plot to support an entire movie and as such it does at times feel like that the characters are just on repeat as they go from one location to the next meeting a bunch of people before a Bambi attack rinse and repeat and while this films plot did have all of the potential in the world to be a really good plot for this film it just needed alot more time devoted to it and to developing it to the point where it does feel like a strong plot and to the point where it doesn't feel like that the characters are stuck on repeat mode all of the time with this even effecting the films characters as all of them could have used alot of development in this film as none of them have anything that's even close to being a fully formed personality with the only thing really that makes alot of them standout is if they hate animals or not with the character of Harrison for example having a deep hatred for what is possibly his Grandma even down to the point where he's borderline abusive to her with his death being the only one that's actually satisfying as his character was just so annoying and wasn't really developed much apart from his deep hatred of his Grandma but i really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now the as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film as in all honesty pretty decent at best. As while there are alot of really good kills in this film alot of them either go on for far two long or aren't long enough for use the audience to really fully enjoy them with the best example of this film being the fact that when Harriet gets killed by Bambi he stabs her with his antlers and rips her body in half which would be more then enough to kill anyone but then the film cuts back to being just about alive later on in the film where she she then gets killed by one of the hunters forcing his knife into her throat which just ruins what was a perfectly awsome kill in it's own right all of the sake of padding out the running time and making sure that we know that the hunters are the actual villains of the film with an example of quick kill in this film being Simon's death as he's mauled to death by several rabbits only we don't get to see all that much of it as the film does lots of quick cuts and then it's all over and so we don't get to enjoy the death of a character that we really didn't like all that much in the first place sometimes going slower on your kills is better as us the audience want to fully enjoy the kill and we can't do that if the death is being cut to so fast that we can't tell what's going on until it's actually happened and while the film does have alot of really impressive gore effects due to the fact that the films is entirely set at night we don't get to see them all that much with the films best kill being the death of Harriett just due to how cool it is in the first place with the makers of this film really making the best use possible of the fact that it's main killer is a deer in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it's hard to say if this film is the worst film in The Twisted Childhood Universe it's also quite clearly not the best entry either as it does takes several steps back from what the previous two films did so well but in saying that this there is still alot more effort in this film then there was in films like Popeye's Revenge for example as here you really can tell that the makers of the film are still trying to make a good film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are un this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly a 4 out of 10 from me.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

For some weird reason Hollywood is really liking the idea of turning beloved children's characters into horror villains with us getting at the very least three more of those types of horror films this year alone. With the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today being the latest in the Twisted Childhood Universe of films but what sets this film apart from all of the others in this new found genre of horror is that it's ital character HASN'T just entered the public domain as he's always been in the public domain for many decades now which really makes it weird that it's taken all of these decades for the character to be the star of a horror film and so then join me as I give you SPOILER FILLED review of the film should have been alot better with the film in question being called simply just "Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when her young brother Michael is kidnapped it's up to Wendy Darling to find him and stop his kidnapper Peter Pan from taking more kids to Neverland. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually feature / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not the best but it's also not that bad of a plotline either as it's pretty much the exact same type of plot that you'd expect from a Peter Pan based horror film and yet at the same time this films plot lacks alot of magic and wonder that really would have made it not only stand out from all of the horror films out there but it also would have made it more in line with the original book as well as the original book was a dark book and yet by playing it as safely as they do it robs the film of having a plot that can truly turn the tale of Peter Pan on it's head because it's to busy trying to be a mature and adult version of the Disney film rather then telling a good and scary story in it's own right and yet if this films plot had alot of magic and wonder put into it then it not only could have been the most straight forward adaptation of the book in terms of tone but it also would have made the plot of the film more creepier as well but it also would have felt slightly out of line with the other films in this universe as well as they take a more realistic approach to there characters where s this one would need to be a full on fantasy horror film with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Martin Portlock as Peter Pan , Megan Placito as Wendy Darling and Kit Green as Tinker Bell. Also starring in this film is Peter DeSouza-Feighoney as Michael Darling , Charity Kase as Captain James Hook , Teresa Banham as Mary Darling , Campbell Wallace as John Darling , Hardy Yusuf as Joey , Kelly Rian Sanson as Mia , Nicholas Woodeson as Steven , Kierston Wareing as Roxy and Olumide Olorunfemi as Tiger Lily.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However at the same time tho the acting in these Twisted Childhood Universe films has never been all that great and that is something that does continue in this film as this films actors give performances that you'd expect to see in a made for TV movie which is something that does make sense as alot of them are very little to unknown actors and as such it really would be foolish to expect great performances in this film even with this films producer , writer and director Scott Jeffrey who played Christopher Robin in Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 who is a solid actor not really making for that good of a director which does make sense as this was the first film that he directed and as such he doesn't quite know how to get a good performance out of his actors just yet but he does show promise in that department with this films acting being on par with the first Blood And Honey film rather then the second one interms of acting quality with this films acting not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does lower the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

If there's one thing that this film gets right it's the fact that they made Peter Pan himself a creepy character. As even in the Disney film they made him look pretty creepy in certain and all this film did was make him alot more creep then what he already is but at the same time tho his creepy look really doesn't work with how he tries to get the kids to come with him as all that does is make him look insane and it makes the kids that do fall for him seem dumb as he's obviously a creepy looking person who's not to be trusted and yet alot of the kids and even Tinkerbell really trust him in this film and while that might work if he had a less creepy look to him and was written a bit less creepy as well given how he looks and how he's written it doesn't quite work which makes it feel like the that the makers of the film were banking on the fact that it's a Peter Pan horror film and using that idea to sell tickets and hoping that that will be enough to get people to like the film instead of giving us a well thought out character who can still be creepy but where it's understandable as to why these kids would fall for him and his charms in the first place which is something that would help to make the film a much more better and well thought out film but as it is the character of Peter Pan just isn't that well written despite the fact that the idea behind the character is a really solid idea it just needed more of a push in the right direction to make it a great idea.

This film borrows some imagery from other and quite frankly better horror films with even the first shot that we see of Peter being eerily similar to Pennywise trying to temp to Georgie in the first IT film or even the Evil Dead for that matter. With the film having alot of scenes that are like this with there straight being scenes that remind of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and other horror films as well and all that does is remind you that you could be watching some much more better films and while it's great to tip your hat to other horror films you also want to make sure that your film is just as good and that those references or influences aren't to distracting which is sadly what they were here and yet while the film does make nods to those films it doesn't understand what it was that made them great in there original films in the first as Pennywise in the nineties IT film was a genuinely good clown and he used that to lure his kids in where as here Peter is to creepy to lure in kids despite him putting on cheery face and he's not the type of character that would suffocate someone but Sheriff Hoyt is due to his military background and so he would suffocate people to get the information that he needs out of them where as Peter doesn't have anything that he needs to get out of people and so it makes no sense for him to be doing something like that to people as that's not in his character to do so with it coming across as the makers of this film just threw in those visual nods to other horror films in the hopes that it would distract us the audience from what's going on on screen without realizing that all it's doing to taking people out of the movie.

Peter Pan is a character that's been in the public domain for quite literally decades as his original author J. M. Barrie gave up his right to characters to a childrens hospice decades ago. As such it is something that really does make you wonder why it's taken until now or there to be a Peter Pan based horror film as while yes doing horror films based off of popular children's characters a relatively new thing the original book and play Peter and Wendy has been around since 1904 with there being film versions of the story dating back to as early as 1924 and as such it isn't out of the realm of possibility that there could have been a horror based Peter Pan film since then and with even the book it self being a pretty dark book with Pan himself even killing off any of The Lost Boys that wanted to leave Neverland and Tinkerbell showing a more violent side to her when in conflict with Wendy all of which would have made for a great film and it is something that given how dark the book can get does make sense as to why this character became a horror villain as he basically already was one in the first place but the film robs us of anything that makes Peter Pan feel like Peter Pan outside of a few references to things and a line of dialog later on in the film and that's rally it but we do get to see Peter's signature pose tho which was nice to see but it's still something that doesn't make this film as good as it really could have been tho.

Whilst this film is indeed set within the same fictional world as Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey the film actually has only one connection for those movies. That being the fact that Teresa Banham is actually reprising her role from the second Blood And Honey film which was actually rather refreshing as usually films that are set within the same fictional universe usually spend either alot of time in setting up the other films or in reminding you that it's set in the same universe as these other films and outside of the fact that Teresa Banham is playing the same character and the fact that we get to go to Ashdown again there's next to nothing in this film that connects it to the previous films which is a good idea as it shows that the makers of these films are indeed taking these films seriously and are not just making them to be a quick cash grab which would have been super easy to do given just much wide spread attention the first Blood And Honey film got and yet by not doing that it allows them to focus in on making each of the films as good as they can be and while that doesn't work for this film mostly due to the fact that it ha a first time writer and director making it you can tell right away that there is alot of care and effort put into this film and while that won't make the film better in any way shape or form it does indeed show that the makers of these films are willing to take on criticism from the films and make them better just like at Blood And Honey 2 as proof of that.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty five minuets and forty six seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for these films with this film also having just the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this film really doesn't use it's running time as well it really could have have done as none of the characters are that well developed with the big blow up between Wendy and Mary coming out of nowhere and adding quite literally nothing to the actual plot of the film and the fact that Tinker Bell is now either a transvestite or transgender isn't made all that clear in the film but what is made clear is the fact that she's addicted to drugs and just like the rest of the characters isn't that well developed either as all of there characters just come across as being very note with the same thing also being true for all of the films side characters alot of whom are also rather forgettable characters as well and this is something that really could have been fixed if the film had a longer running time even more so when you take into account that alot of these actors are due to reprise there roles in other films and yet this film doesn't give us a reason to care about these characters in the first place let alone want to see more of them in other movies in the first but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.  

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. However tho at the same time given that this film did have a budget that was pretty much the exact same as Blood And Honey 2 they really could have done better kills in this film but to this films credit tho when it does do an original kill it does look pretty cool but it's also during this films kills that the film thinks that it's Terrifer 2 with all of the blood only without any of the wit and charm to pull it off with the best thing about this films kills is oddly enough Peter himself as he doesn't have a go to weapon of choice and so he's forced to use whatever happens to be near him at the same time and that does result in some pretty gruesome death scenes in this film with the best death scene in this film actually being hr first kill of the film where Peter cuts open the top of the head of James's mother and he lets her just bleed out basically which was such a gnarly kill it's just a shame tho that alot of the other kills in this film weren't as good as that one was as alot of this films kills are pretty generic cheaply made slasher film kills with nothing new or original added to them to make them feel new or unique again in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall let us hope that Bambi: The Reckoning which is so far due to be the next one of the Twisted Childhood Universe films to be released is at the very least better then this film as this film had all of the potential to be a really good film and yet for one reason or another it really just couldn't live up to that potential and instead what we got was a film that's just nothing more then an average film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as we all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.

Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 Film SPOILER FREE Film Review

When the very idea of turning a beloved childrens character into a horror film goes viral and that films becomes a hit then there's only thing that you can do. That being to make a sequel out of it and hope to god that the same success happens this time and given that a third film has already been announced and that the first film is now retroactively the start of a brand new cinematic universe then you just know that the film are on to something and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review that introduces both Owl and Tigger into the series with the film in question being called simply just "Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey 2" enjoy.

The plot of this film is one year after the events of the film Christopher Robin must face his friends again as Pooh and Piglet team up with Owl and Tigger to bring there twisted form of revenge on the unsuspecting town of Ashdown. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty no that bad as it was a step in quality from the plot of this film but at the same time tho this films plot wasn't all that good as it lacks a certain charm that the lot of the first film had in spades as the plot of this film does a very good job of being a self contained plot that is very entertaining in it's own right however tho it's still just a plot that felt like a rip off of the plot of Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends only done on a much smaller budget with the plot of this being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this film is Teresa Banham as Samantha , Alec Newman as Alan Robin , Nicola Wright as Daphne Robin , Thea Evans as Helen "Bunny" Robin , Flynn Matthews as Finn , Toby Wynn-Davies as Dr. Arthur Gallup , Simon Callow as Cavendish , Eddy MacKenzie as Piglet , Marcus Massey as Owl and Lewis Santer as Tigger.

As nobody was expecting this film to have good acting in it infact alot of people would have been expecting to have some really rather bad acting in it and yet we actually got some really good acting in this film with all of the actors really delivering some really rather good performances in this very film with the acting in this film being alot better then the acting that we got in the first film and while the acting in this film is still bad it's still alot better then alot of other small time independent horror films out there with the acting in this film not really by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of the films cast absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does bring down the overall quality of the acting in this film.

This film is now officially the second film of what's being called The Twisted Childhood Universe which is a new cinematic universe that's going to house a bunch of horror films based of off childrens classic characters all of which are leading to there first crossover film which is an Avengers style film called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.Which just makes all of these bad films both somehow good and yet worse at the exact same time as now we get to see not one but multiple films all fail at the exact same time and we get to see just how this bad cinematic universe could quite possibly fail but at the exact same time tho the very idea of giving all of these weird and strange horror films there own cinematic universe is just so weird that it might just work and while they will never be able to compete with the DC Cinematic Universe or even the Marvel Cinematic Universe it is still interesting to see just how this quite possible cinematic universe could quite possibly take place. 

Rather rightfully this film has a much more bigger budget then that of the first film with the first film having a budget of $50,000. With this film having a budget of $533.144 dollars and to this films credit it really does show as not only do both Pooh and Piglet get redesigns that make them look ten times better then how they looked in the previous film but the film now also has more budget to do things like having explosions and creating new characters like Owl and Tigger both of whom do look really good with the best looking out of those two being Owl who just looks really creepy but with that being said tho the previous film has a certain charm to it due to how small that it's budget is as the previous film looked like a film that a group of friends would make where as this film looks like a film that a bunch of soulless people would make both are good yes but there has to be a way to have the charm and cheapness of the first film whilst also having the budget of this film.

For some reason the film does something that's really rather stupid to the backstory of these characters which just doesn't work at all. As it then forces you to question the events of not only the previous film but also the backstory that both films give us and when you do that you'll find that the add on that's in this film just doesn't add up as there's no way that it could have happened without making one of the films characters look really dumb in the process and while fixing continuity is a frequent thing in films as alot of films do go back and either retcon certain things or also add things that change certain things in the continuity however none of those things ever effect what came before nor do they go against what came before where as with this film it goes against everything that was set up in the previous film that it makes it hard to work out or even care about the canon and lore of this universe as it could get changed in a future film.

The very idea of the characters attacking the town that Christopher Robin lives in is a really good idea and it's one that works in this film. However at the same time due to the films still small budget alot of it just can't be as fully realized as it really should have been with there being quite alot of kills that happen of screen and alot of things that are all shot in the dark which makes all of the films sets look exactly the same alot of which would have been fixed if the film had a more larger budget so that we could see alot of the cooler stuff and so that we could see alot of the films sets and when we do get to see alot of the cool stuff in this film it is something that is really cool that makes the whole idea work really well with the idea being helped by the fact that alot of the characters from the Winnie The Pooh books do feel alot more in character then what they did in the previous film with Owl being the smart one of the group with him coming up with alot of the groups plans which works because that's in his character to act like that.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour ad twenty eight minuets and thirty six seconds. Which is the absolutely perfect running time for a film like this one to have as this kind of film really doesn't have alot of plot to really cover a much more longer running time with this running pretty much the bog standard for these films as well and while the film could have been better if it had a much more longer running time as it would have allowed to see more of how people reacted to Christopher Robin after the events of the first film as that was a really interesting idea at the same time tho by doing that it would be stretching the films plot even thinner then what it already is with the plot then being stretched beyond breaking point however if the film was longer it would also allow for the films characters to become more fully developed then what they already are but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty alot better then what they really had any right to be. As the kills in the first film weren't that good but good for what little money that they had to make the film and with this films getting a biggest budget we get to see alot more really good looking kills but with that being said the films has what could have been it's best and most coolest kill happen off screen for some reason which makes no sense as the film had the budget to show us the kill and yet the makers of this film chose to have what would have been it's most coolest kill happen off screen when it's something that should have bee shown to us on screen in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is alt better then the first film but at the same time it does also suffer from alot of the same issues that the first film also suffered from with this film being a clear example the makers of this new cinematic universe are willing to listen to what the people are telling them and fix issues with there films in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5 out of 10 from me.
