Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Film Review

It's very rare these days that people have to wait a long time for a sequel especially when it comes to Hollywood. Yet that's exactly the case with the film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today as audiences have had to wait since the eighties to see the ghost with the most return in live action form as while yes there was the animated series to tide people very that show ended in the nineties and since then there was nothing and so then join me as I review the film that with recent events in mind now has a slightly sadder ending with the film in question being called simply just "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" enjoy.

The plot of this film is after the death of her father Charles Lydia who now hosts a paranormal TV show goes back to Winter River with her mother and her teenage daughter Astrid but when Astrid meets a boy and goes to the underworld Lydia has to team up with the one person she's been trying hard to forget Beetlejuice. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. This films plot is to be quite frankly just as much if not more fun then the plot of the film was with it feeling like that the writers of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar really were fans of the first film as they do go out of there way to craft a plot that does feel the next natural step for these films to go and while there are some plot choices that don't make sense like why is Lydia the host of a TV show when her whole thing was taking pictures and why aren't the Maitlands in the film as they are bound to that house for hundreds of years. The films plot is one that does still work despite these small short comings as it does feel like a plot that is true to the spirit of the first film as you can tell right from the very start of the film that the makers of this film still do know how to make a Beetlejuice movie as this films plot does feel right at home when sitting next to the plot of the first movie and while yes this film would have been better if certain plot elements were given more time and more scenes for a film that nobody really expected to work it's plot does work really well with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice , Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz and the late Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz. Also starring in this film is Jenna Ortega as Astrid Deetz , Justin Theroux as Rory , Willem Dafoe as Wolf Jackson , Arthur Conti as Jeremy Frazier , Burn Gorman as Father Damien , Santiago Cabrera as Richard , Nick Kellington as Bob , Amy Nuttall as Jane Butterfield Jr. , Paul Warren as Tom , Mark Heenehan as Charles Deetz , Charlie Hopkinson as the voice of Charles Deetz , Danny DeVito as a Janitor and Monica Bellucci as Delores LaFerve.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. The fact that we manage to have good acting in this film is something that isn't all that surprising given the fact that all of this films main actors are a bunch of really good actors whom we all know can turn in a good performance and while yes there are some actors in this film that don't get as much of a chance to shine as others like for example Delores they all do get a good chance to show us just what it is that they can from an acting point of view. With the best actor in this film being quite easily Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice as even tho he hasn't played the character since the first film he so easily slips back into that character that it's actually quite terrifying with doing such a good job as this character that you actually want to see more scenes with him in the film and while the film does hold back quite alot on showing him this is something that does make Michael's acting in the film alot more better as now he has to bring his A game every single time that he's own screen and my god does he do exactly that. With it feeling like that he just got through making the first film a year or two before filming this one as that's just how good he is as this character. With the acting that's in this very film really bein helped but the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Framestore , One Of Us , BUF , Red Visual Effects and Goldcrest. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. While the film does use alot of CGI it does also make more use of practical effects with the film really only using CGI in scenes where they have to use it with this being something that does give the film more of a handmade look as it does make it look like that we the audience could make any of the films effects at home ourselfs. Yet when the film does use CGI like for example the death f Charles it is something that does feel right as home with the first film as it has that handmade look to it where it looks stop motion and yet it quite clearly isn't with this being something that does work well enough for this film as this film does prove that not everything needs to be CGI due to the fact that the film does make use good practical elements like for example alot of the sets are real and while yes the film does make use of CGI it's only used in scenes where it would be impossible to do it for real like for example the scene where all of the influencers get sucked into there phones there would be no way to do a scene like that for real and therefor it is something that would need to be done in CGI with the films computer effects blending in really well with it's practical effects not to the point where your questioning which is real and which is practical but rather it's to the point where you can see that they are well blended.

It is safe to say that there is one character in this film that is woefully underused in this film that being the character of Delores. As this character had all of the potential to be this really fun and funny character and yet the film barely has her in any scenes with her only showing up every so often and when she does show up the character barely talks which makes you wonder why they got someone like Monica Bellucci to play her as you could have cast any actor in that role and not have to change a thing about the character infact out of the whole film the character only has just over a line of dialog total as that's how little impact that this character has on this films plot. With it being made clear pretty much right away that she is meant to be the underworlds version of Rory as both he and Delores share very similar characters traits as they both want to stop the wedding between Beetlejuice and Lydia and they are both selfish people and while Monica does look really good as the character there was no need for her to be the one to play the character when you could have had any actor play this role. With the only thing that makes the character be somewhat interesting being the fact that she and Beetlejuice got married hundreds of years ago during the black plague and even then the film does nothing with that idea due to the fact that it keeps both of the character separated for alot of its running time which fair enough they do provide an in story reasoning for that  but they still should have given this character some more time to show us just what she's really like as she does come across as being one character to many for this film and therefor she does end up getting the short end of the stick this is despite the fact out of all the small time villains in this film she is the better one.

As alot of you will no doubt remember earlier this year we di loose the great Catherine O'Hara which is a really sad thing in it's own right. Yet her passing now makes the ending of this film be even more sadder then what it already is as in this film we do see her character die on screen with her going to the afterlife with her beloved Charles at the end of the film this is a sad scene in it's own right as it is something that the film didn't really build towards until maybe the final fifteen minuets of the film and yet now not only does serve as way for us the audience to say goodbye to this really funny character but it also serves as a way for us the audience to say goodbye to this painfully funny actor on top of that while this is something that of course would have been the furthest from the minds of the makers of this film it is also something that is an oddly fitting end to her as both a character in Delia and as an actor as she gets to be both funny heartwarming in the same scene. This was something that the makers of the film didn't have to do as just having the character be funny would have been more then enough and it would have been true to her character from both this film and the first film as well but the fact that they took the time to let her and Lydia have a small moment together before she does board the wonderfully punny Soul Train is something that does make Delia seem more then just a one dimensional character as we get to see how much she has grown inbetween films and the fact that she does care for Lydia with her last great act being to hire Beetlejuice herself to help her find Lydia as deep down she knows that she's died but isn't willing to admit it just yet with it only being once Lydia is safe and once she thinks that she is on her own does she fully admit to the undead Charles that she's died.

Where the film does both somewhat sine and somewhat faulter is with the plot between Lydia and Astrid as they both o have to learn to get along and trust each other after possibly years of growing tension between the pair of them. This something that does feel like its one plot to many as all of the characters in the film have a plot and they really don't need to and while the Lydia and Astrid plot is tied to the main plot in a major way as without them having there friction that Astrid wouldn't have run of and met Jeremy and been seduced by him yet at the same time it is something that could have been handled alot more better due to the fact that there plot arc together does seem forced and unneeded in the grand scheme of things. Yet at the same time it does shine really well due to the fact that there aren't that many good Tim Burton films that tackle the idea of a mother trying and failing to connect with her daughter and therefor seeing it done and done fairly well in this film is something that does make this film stand out for it but in saying this tho this plot arc is one that really could have been done alot more better due to not only the fact that there are so many plot lines in this film that is hard to keep track of them all but also due to how closely ted into the main plot of the film that it is and therefore there should have been alot more thought and effort put into making it not only as believable as you can do with a Beetlejuice film but also make it as fun and as weird as you should be able to do as this is a Beetlejuice film and yet the makers of this film don't really do all that much with it which is something that does make it feel like it was only added to the film just to give Jenna Ortega something to do in the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty five minuets and three seconds. Which is also pretty much the same running time as the first film as well and yet you hardly feel it as the film does move really quickly with none of the films scenes lasting either two long or two quickly and while yes there are certain advantages that the film could have had if it was a few minuets longer if this film was even ten minuets longer all of the issues that people have the film would now be magnified to the extreme due to the fact that people are now forced to focus on them alot more then what they already are with this film having the right amount of plot to cover that amount of running time in the first place. Yet even with the fact that the film doesn't feel as along as it is alot of the time the film still doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as while the films plot is as well developed as it was ever going to be the film spends alot more time in setting up and devoting time to all of the characters other plots all of which don't add all that much to the main bulk of the film and all of which do eat up screen time that would have been better spent on giving it's main plot alot more plot development as while the films plot is about as well developed as it was ever going to get that is only due to the fact that it's fighting for screen time with all of the other several dozen or so plots that are also competing for screen time in this film. This is something that does also effect the films character development as now none of the films characters can get the character development that they really needed which is fine for characters like Delia , Lydia and Beetlejuice as then you could argue that they got there character development in the first film and therefor they don't need it in this one but all of the films new characters get nothing interms of character development with the only one that we really know something about is Astrid and that's it and that's not enough to make her a memorable character in this film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. While yes granted alot of this films jokes aren't going to be as funny as the ones in the first movie due to the fact that the first movie despite it having a PG rating did manage to tell alot of adult jokes all of which not only worked back then but still work to this very day while this film on the other hand despite it not having as many adult jokes in the film is still painfully funny with alot of what made the jokes in this film be as funny as they are is the performances from all of the actors in this film as they all do give us these wonderfully funny performances that help to make the jokes even more funnier then what they already are. With the best joke in the whole entire film being the wedding scene near the end of the film as we get to see Beetlejuice force not only himself but also Lydia , Rory , Astrid and Delia sing the song "MacArthur Park" by the singer Richard Harris with alot of what they are saying being tied to what's happening on screen and while yes the whole number is very much a rip off of the Day-O scene from the first film it still a really funny scene in this film with all of the films actors really committing to it with that being something that does help to tip it over the edge and be this painfully scene with the only thing that would have made it even more funnier being if they they somehow got Willem Dafoe's character to sing apart of the song as well with the rest of the films jokes being just as painfully funny as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is film is just as funny as the first one and while the first film does have the added advantage of being out longer and therefor people would have a chance to love it for the type of film that it is there is still alot of really good things to be found in this film as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well aa all of the bad things that are in his very film in this very review and as such tat really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then ass for where I personally got all of the images hat I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very revie from Tenor , Blogger , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Lee Cronin's The Mummy Film Review

Horror remakes or reimaginings are a dime a dozen these days with one being released seemingly every week. Well now we have yet another one to add to that list altho this one has something that alot of others don't have and that's the fact that it has an up and coming horror director serving as it's writer and director with apparently the producer of the film having so much pull at New Line Cinema that the ALT title for this film is Lee Cronin's The Mummy which is something that the film will be getting called by in this review and so then join me as I review the film that sees The Mummy franchise return to it's original horror roots with the film in question being called simply just "Lee Cronin's The Mummy" enjoy.

The plot of this film is eight years after there daughter mysteriously disappears she is found again completely mummified but when her parents take her home she becomes more and more unhinged and it's up to her parents to work out what's wrong with her before it's to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty average at best. To be frank here this films plot is nothing more then OK as while the idea of the plot is a really good idea as having a creepy kid be the villain is something that will always be scary no matter the quality of the product but it is something that doesn't feel right for this franchise as this is a franchise that has bounced back and fourth between horror and action with them both having plots that revolve around actual mummies and that is something that this films plot doesn't have. This is something that does make it feel like that this was a script for a another film but the heads at New Line saw it and slapped "The Mummy" name on it as a way to sell us the movie and while yes the films plot is a strong plot that does support the entire film it does also rob the film of the chance to be it's own thing due to the fact that the plot of the film is filled to the brim with horror cliches all of which do bog this films plot down as it could have been a really good plot in it's own right with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Jack Reynor as Charlie Cannon , Laia Costa as Larissa Cannon and May Calamawy as Detective Dalia Zaki. Also starring in this film is Natalie Grace as Katie Cannon , Emily Mitchell as Young Katie , Shylo Molina as Sebastián Cannon , Dean Allen Williams as Young Sebastián , Billie Roy as Maud Cannon , Verónica Falcón as Carmen Santiago , Hayat Kamille as The Magician , May Elghety as Layla Khalil , Aisha Laouini as Young Layla , Husam Chadat as Detective Ismail , Mark Mitchinson as Professor Bixler , Lily Sullivan as Miss Mills , Omar El-Saeidi as Gamal Khalil , Arkin Cureklibatir as Jabari Khalil and Safi Mulki as Tariq Khalil.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. The films acting in this film is something that could be described as being one of the more better things in the film which granted isn't that high of a bar to reach but considering that alot of this films actors are either unknown or vert little known actors that is still something that is quite the accomplishment, with all of this films actor including the kid actors turning in some really wonderful performances in this film. With the best actor in the whole entire film being Natalie Grace as she does make for a really creepy version of Katie something which must have been quite hard to do considering the fact that for alot of her time on screen she just has to sit there and do nothing and yet when the action does indeed ramp up she comes across as being quite terrifying to watch which is something that is quite impressive indeed and while it would have been to see more of what she could do from an acting point of view the fact that she does make for a really creepy kid is still something that is to admired as is the fact that none of the kid actors in this film come across as being annoying with them all turning in some pretty decent performances in their own right alot of which do match with what the adult actors are doing as well with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors anything to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

This films characters aren't all that much better sadly as none of them barring Katie for obvious reasons have anything about them that makes them interesting characters. With pretty much all of them just being the same stock horror characters that we've all seen done better in other and better horror films this is by no means a bad thing as the same thing could also be argued for the nineties The Mummy movies as well however given that they were going for more of an Indiana Jones but more modern vibe and this film is trying to return this franchise to it's horror roots there should have been more of an effort to give us some interesting characters. As there is nothing to alot of this films characters as Charlie is the typical loving dad who had a great relationship with Katie with her mother being the character that loves her family but due to this one even is now over protective of them and the rest of the films characters are just there with characters like Maud and Sebastian just basically being background characters even tho there apart of the main family heck the only interesting character in the whole film film is Katie herself and even then that's more due to what she goes through at the start of the film and not the actual writing for her character as by all rights she could have been a really dull and boring character but it's due to the fact that the film keeps her silent for alot of its running time that makes us the audience wonder what she is actually thinking with the brief glimpses that we got of her before she was taken making her out to be this really fun and bubbly kid which does contrast well with the more dark and very disturbing character that she ends up becoming.

This film helped to prove something that none of us where asking and that's the fact that this films writer and director Lee Cronin turns in his best stuff when he's being let loose. As unlike with Evil Dead Rise where he pretty much just dud whatever he wanted this film feels like there's people holding him back and telling not to go all out with the best example of this being the fact that for alot of the film there's nothing all that scary happening in the film which would be great if the film was building tension or maybe even trying to solve the mystery of what actually happened to Katie all of those years ago yet it doesn't and it's not rather it's just the character just living there normal day to day lives whist trying to adjust to suddenly having Katie back into there lives and while that is find for five maybe ten minuets of the film this is something that happens for large portions of the film. Yet if Lee Cronin was just told to go nuts and have fun with it then odds are that we would get something as fresh and new as Evil Dead Rise as case in point when this film does reach its third act it does go completely balls to the wall insane and that's when the film gets more fun to watch and where the film does get more creepy and while there is a case to be made that this films third act wouldn't work as well if the film hadn't spent alot of the time with the characters before hand which would be a fair point to make it's where the film gets to give you all of the things that you want to see from a director like this as some directors like for example Osgood Perkins are great at building up tension but Lee Cronin is one that is his best when he's being allowed to go all out and yet in this film you do get the impression that he's being told to hold back and all that does is stop this film from being as fun as it could have been and it's stops its writer and director from doing what it is that he quite clearly does best.

Look to be frank there is some good to be found but this is a case where the bad does far outweigh the good. As there are alot more negative things to be found in this film like for example for a film that's called The Mummy there's not even a proper mummy in the film with the only few hints of there being a mummy that we get in he film being in the films pretty cool opening and that's it which isn't enough to justify its title with this making it feel like the makers of this film were far to afraid of making a Mummy movie so they just had one mummy appear in the film to help to justify it's title and called it a day. With the other thing being the fact that this film does feel like a remake of Evil Dead Rise due to the fact that it does hit on alot of the same themes and even has some of the same ideas that were present in that film like for example both films have an overworked parent of two kids one of which is a teenage boy and the other is a little girl which is the exact same dynamic that they have in this film only here they have two little girls and not just the one. This does also follow the theme of family and how far family members will go to help each other out which again is something that we saw in Evil Dead Rise only in this film it is a little bit more blatant and not at all subtle as this film does hit you over the head with its messages and themes when this is something that is best left being done in a more subtle way as then we the audience would be able to have repeat viewings of the film and find out these small little details that help with those themes something upon which we are now unable to do due to how hard that the film does hit you over the head with it's messaging.

This film does try to have a mystery as the characters are all trying to work out what it was that happened to Katie when she was kidnapped all of those many years ago. Which to be fair is a good enough mystery and to be fair to the film it does do a decent attempt of hiding just what it was that actually happened to her however the film does commit to big sins when it comes to this mystery the first of which being the fact that the film doesn't offer us any clues as to what actually happened to her thus not really allowing us the audience to work out for ourselfs with this even making the big reveal come out of nowhere as the film didn't really hint at this even being a possibility. The second sin that this films commits is the fact that they outright show us that there's something supernatural at play at the start of the film which granted doesn't hurt the overall mystery aspect of the film but it is something that would have made for a really cool and scary reveal near the end of the film yet for one reason or another the makers of this film instead chose not to do that and instead chose to give us a pretty lame mystery that anyone that's even halfway paying attention could solve when the whole point of a mystery is to keep you guessing whilst also giving you subtle clues to what's actually going on. If the makers of this film did do that then it would have given those that actually like this film of sure there are most likely some people it would have given them more of a reason to come back and watch the film to try and find all of the little clues thus giving the film some replay ability value to it as then those people would be back looking for more clues and yet they don't do that therefor there is no reason to come back and watch this film as you'll just be getting the exact same expirence that you got when you first watched the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and three minuets and twenty eight seconds. Which for a horror film let alone one where nothing interesting or actually scary happens for the vast majority of its running time is such a long time for this film as you very easily could have told this film in about one hour and forty minuets at a push as all you'd have to do is remove all of the pointless filler scenes and that's it, with the film even having the right amount of plot there cover that amount of running time and yet even tho this is so much more longer then what it really needed to be the film still doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the film doesn't take the time to fully develop it's plot as there is nothing added to the plot that makes it feel more well thought out with it instead feeling like that the makers of this film were just making up the films as they went along due to the fact that there are alot of filler scenes with the family and there friends none of which have any impact on the plot of the film and all of which could have been cut from the film itself. This is something that does also effect the films character development as put it bluntly none of the films characters get any kind of character development in the film this is despite the fact that the film does have ample time to give them the development that they needed and while this is something that would be fine if the film was alot more shorter as then you could argue that the film just didn't have the time to fit it in here tho the film has well over two hours and yet due to the fact that the film is mostly preoccupied with filler scenes it means that we don't get to find anything about any of this films characters characters with them all being in the exact same place at the end of the film that they were at the start of the film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that really doe mean that I have to actually talk about the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty OK at best. Much like with the films acting this films horror is perhaps the best thing about the film as you can tell that Lee Cronin is genuinely trying to make a scary film but again it does feel like that he's being held back instead of being told to go all out due to the fact that alot of this films scares are just jump scares and that's it and that's not enough to make a film scary as while the film does have a scary villain the film does nothing with her until the third act with the mainly just using those jump scares or shots of Katie looking creepy and that's it. With the best scare in this whole entire film being the entire third act of the film as that's when it feel like that we are truly seeing the same man of who made Evil Dead Rise show us just what it is that he can do as a horror director and while nothing about the third act will spoiled here as it is something that is just pure balls to the wall insanity, with it being something that does somewhat make up for the lack of creative scares in the rest of the film due to the fact that we do get see Katie do more then just sit and look creepy as we do get to see just what it is that she can truly do in her current state with that being something that does make this film scary and yet the film didn't take as full advantage of that by having more scenes with her being this creepy when that is something that would have made the rest of film be more terrifying to watch with the rest of the films scares not being as good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall the marketing team for this film did a really good job on making this film look good as this film is nothing more then OK as all of the potential that the film does gave is bogged down by the overly long running time and pointless filler scenes that would have been better off being removed from the film entirely in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well aa all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of a exactly 5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Friday The 13th Part III Film Review

The Friday The 13th franchise is one that has been in a lot of legal trouble over who owns what in recent years which is why we haven't seen a new movie in nearly TWENTY years yet there's a new show coming out this year. This something that's getting mentioned because of the fact that even tho the very next film after the film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today the only thing that's actually came close to killing of Jason for good was lawyers and yet even tho he is still a popular character not alot of people know that it was the film that i'm going to talking you all about today where he got his iconic mask and so then join me as I review the film that sees Jason enter the third dimension with the film in question being called simply just "Friday the 13th Part III" enjoy.

The plot of this film is one day after the events of Part II Chris Higgins and her friends find themselves in the fight for there lives when they go to spend the weekend and Chris's parents cabin when they come up against Jason. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty OK at best. With this films plot being about as basic set up for a Friday The 13th movie as you could ever get which is fine as these films aren't that well known for having different plots in them as when you boil all of the films down there just the same plot just reskinned every time and the same thing is true for this film as there's nothing that all that different about this films plot then the plot of Part 2 film for example but here in this film they do try to make things a bit different by having it be someone's cabin that there staying and not having the characters trying to open up a summer camp which yes is a small thing but it is a small thing that does show that the makers of this films are at the very least trying to come up with a different enough plot to justify making this film in the first place. To but it bluntly this films plot isn't as strong as say the plot of Part IV is even tho the setup is exactly he same as here it felt like that more effort was being put into the films 3D element then it was in making the films plot be as strong as it could have been as by all rights this is just the plot for a TV show episode that's been stretched out to feature length with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Dana Kimmell as Chris Higgins , Paul Kratka as Rick Bombay and Tracie Savage as Debbie Klein. Also starring in this film is Jeffrey Rogers as Andy Beltrami , Catherine Parks as Vera Sanchez , Larry Zerner as Shelly , David Katims as Chuck Garth , Rachel Howard as Chili Jachson , Nick Savage as Ali , Gloria Charles as Fox , Kevin O'Brien as Loco , Cheri Maugans as Edna Hockett , Steve Susskind as Harold Hockett , Perla Walter as Mrs. Sanchez , David Wiley as Abel and Richard Brooker as Jason Voorhees.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty good. The fact that this films acting is as good as it is is a true miracle in it's own right as not only are alot of this films actors a bunch of unknown actors in the first right and therefor it wouldn't have been wise to expect good performances from them in this film but also it is a fairly well known fact that the makers of this film prioritized the 3D aspect of the film over anything else. This is why alot of the films acting does feel like the kind of acting that you would expect to see in the first take of a scene as more often then not they just didn't have time to do a take two with this being something that does effect the acting in this film as it does mean that the actors in this film just don't have a fair chance to turn in as good of a performance as thy might have been able to if they did more takes as alot of the time they do come off as being for lack of a better word here wooden. With the best actor in this film being Dana Kimmell as she does get more of a chance to show of just what it is that she can do as an actor and alot of the time she does manage to do things like being dramatic or being scared really well with those things making her performance more then worth while whilst also not being to distracting from any of the films kills with the acting that's in this very film really bein helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Character wise whilst films like Part II or Part IV for example might have the more better Friday The 13th characters this films characters are just as iconic in there own right. As a good few of this films characters do feel like real people that have lived there lives prior to the start of the this film whereas with alot of other film you do get the impression that the characters haven't really done all that much prior to the start of the film that they are in with those films not going that much into the backstory of those characters yet here in this film we do get alot of backstory with the characters that does help to make them be all the more better. Like for example with Shelly we do find out that he does have confidence issues possibly from being bullied at somepoint in his life and therefor he does resort to playing these jokes on people that whilst there funny to him are downright disturbing to anyone else all due to the fact that he just wants to be liked by people and that's all and with Chris we do find out that the reason that she wants to go to her parents cabin is because two years prior she was attacked there with not being able to remember all that much of it with this being something that we do see effect her character as she does get more and more anxious the closer that she gets. However tho when it comes to new characters those are the two that do stand out the most with the only other person really being Debbie only because of the fact that she's pregnant which is an interesting thing to add to a character in a slasher film and yet we don't really see how that affects her character with all of the male characters apart from Shelly just sort of being there as they don't have anything interesting about them even the groups stoner couple are really only just there for bad comic relief and that's it.

As not alot pf you will know this is actually the film where Jason gets to complete his iconic look by gaining his hockey mask. As he wasn't the killer in the first film and in the second film and for a good chink of this film he was a potato sack over his head with him oddly enough getting his iconic mask from Shelly which in turn makes Shelly a more iconic character due to that fact with Jason's mask in this film looking really good but at the same time tho given the fact that Jason was going more for a country farm boy type of look something which you can see in both this film and in the second film as well the mask does somewhat throw that look of quite and yet at the same time it is the look that he would be come more well known for. Therefor it would be understandable of people thought that he aways had this look before going into see this film with the mask itself being something that does look more better when Jason does change his whole look in Part 6 as then farm boy Jason is all gone and in his place is zombie Jason and therefor having the mask there does work really well whereas here it's not something that gels with the look that he was quite going for however at the same time tho it is hard to argue against it's staying power as the mask itself does add something to his look that is hard to describe as it does make you wonder just what he really does look like under the mask ever tho we do get to his face in this film. With the fact that he gets his mask from what the one character that alot of the other characters just straight up don't like being something that does make sense as of course Shelly would have a hocky mask as he is the one that is doing alot of horror jokes and seeing a killer take his mask and use it for actual evil is something that doe work really well in this film.

For those of you that don't know this film , the previous film and the following film all take place on the exact same weekend with the previous film taking place on Friday the 13th. This makes the following two films lie in there title as this film by fault of taking place the very next day takes place on Saturday the 14h and the following film takes place on Sunday the 15th while it is great that these films do form some of sort of trilogy with the events of the previous film being mentioned at some point in the next film it's the fact that the film alters what day they take place on that is slightly bothersome as these films not only pride themselves but also build themselves as taking place on any Friday the 13th and yet we now have two films in a row that go against that. It really wouldn't have been that hard just to have the films take place on another random Friday the 13th as that then would still be in keeping with the rest of the films and yet by going against that while they don't go against what the films originally stand for as these are afterall mindless slasher films it is something that will bother the fans of this franchise. With another thing that will bother the fans of this franchise being the fact that even the film was filmed and originally released in 3D the more commercially available copy is the one in 2D which therefor means that we do get alot of scenes where the characters are just pointing things into the camera in what would be a very unnatural way if they were done in the real world with this being due to the fact that the makers of this film went for the cheapest form of 3D by having things pop out of the screen and not the kind of 3D that amerces you in the world of the film as that is something that really would have justified the makers of this film putting more effort into the 3D effect then quite literally anything else in the film.

It's safe to assume that the original twist ending for Friday The 13th is a great way to end the film and therefor them paying homage to it in this film is something that does make sense. However they do it in a way that does break the continuity of the films as we know thanks to seeing it happen in the first film that Jason's mother gets her head cut off at the end of that film something which we do see at the start of the next film and at the start of this film when we see a small recap of what happened at the end of the last film and yet at the end of this film they have Chris dream about herself being dragged under the water by a very much still alive and still with her head Pamala Voorhees. This is something that should not happen as while yes you could argue that having Pamala say that Jason is dead at the end of the first film only to have him pop up again at the end of that film is also something that does mess with the continuity it could also be argued that as we never saw Jason drown at the start of that film he could have therefor have still been alive at the end of that film which and that Pamala was just insane and very good at hiding it which is something that would make alot of sense this is something that does fall apart when you take Jason's age into account but the bottom line is we never saw him drown at the start of that first film. Whereas we did see Pamala loose her head at the end of that first film therefor seeing her pop back up alive ad well at the end of this film even if it is in a dream sequence is something that doesn't work as we the audience know full well that she's dead. You could make the argument that as Chris was quite clearly going off the deep end by the end of the film that her imagining things that shouldn't be real is something that does work but then you also have to ask yourself how doe she know what his mother wore as that information was shown on screen.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty five minuets and thirteen seconds. With this being pretty much the bogstandard for these Friday The 13th films as they all do have very little plot to them and therefor don't really need a longer running time with this film like alot of the other Friday The 13th films having the right amount of plot to cover that amount of running time in the first place which is something that does make sense as this film doesn't have a deep thought provoking plot and it therefor doesn't need to have a longer running time in order to tell it's story it just needs to a quick and breezy running time to tell it's story and that's really it. Which to be fair is something that this films does do really well with the film not wasting time in getting to the kills however tho the film still doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the film doesn't take the time fully develop it's plot granted this is something that will always be an issue with any of the Friday The 13th films and therefor you do have to move past it however tho given the fact that this film was the only one that was shot in 3D and did give Jason his iconic look you do expect there yo be a more well thought out plot something which we do get hints of with Chris's backstory however that adds nothing to the plot of the film and is very quickly forgotten about each time that it's brought up with this being in favor for the film shoving more awkward 3D effects in your face then telling a more well thought out plot. This is something that's also true for alot of the films characters as none of them get any kind of character development and while this is understandable for someone like Jason as he is a silent killer it is something that doesn't make sense for any of the films other characters as we know just as much about all of them coming out of the film then we did coming into the film when the film could afford to send a few minuets on giving us some really kind of character development no matter how big or small it really ends up being but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. To be fair to this film the film really does get to shine in it's kills as it 's where the makers of this film do get to give us kills that only pay homage to some of the kills in the first film but also get to show us some really creative and fun kills and while not all of them work this is more due to the fact that the film doesn't give us a reason to care for alot of the characters before they are killed of and not the actual kill itself. With the best kill in the whole entire film being a tie between Chili's and Debbie's but both for completely different reasons as for example with Chili's kill we do get alot of build up before the kill happens first with the wind knocking out the power and then blowing open several doors and windows which is a good way to create tension but then the character ruins by doing the best worst fake run in your life before then getting stabbed with a fire poker which is a hugely entertaining scene but with Debbie's scene whilst it is a straight up carbon copy of kill from the first film it is something that does still work as again the makers of the film do create alot of tension before the scene with the death of her boyfriend Andy which does mean that we the audience know full well that Jason is in the house we just don't know where and therefor when he does stab her in the neck through the hammock it is a genuinely shocking scene to see with the rest of the films kills being just as good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while the next film had the gimmick of being the "final" Friday The 13th movie and this film had the gimmick of being in 3D it's the next film that is the better of the two of the films just because of the fact that is has that famous Crispin Glover dance this is despite the fact that this film does have alot of really good kills in it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .

Betty's Revenge Film Review

The current in thing to do in horror films these days seems to be not to come up with anything new or original but to rather either A produce a sequel to a popular horror film or B produce a slasher movie where the main villain happens to be a beloved children's character. As now we have yet anther one of these schlocky movies only now the beloved cartoon character is one that not alot of kids or grown ups for that matter know about as it's Betty Boop so join me as I review the film that quite literally has an ending that really is pure filler with the film in question being called simply just "Betty's Revenge" enjoy.

The plot of this film is some college kids go to the home of a former nightclub singer in order to get some details on what happend when the club she worked at burnt down only to end up in a fight for there lives. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. While this films plot is for lack of a better term laughably bad it's still not as bad as the plot of The Mouse Trap or Popeye's Revenge for example as you can tell that there is some form of effort being put into this films plot however tho where the plot of the film does fail in quite literally every other aspect. As the films plot makes no sense as we never find out why Betty is out for revenge in the first place due to the fact that the film never bothers to tell us why she wants revenge on people and the films plot does for a large portion of it's incredibly small running time feel like it's autopilot as the characters just go from room to room with them occasionally being jump scared by Betty herself with there being so little focus going to the films plot it does make it hard to tell just what the main plot of the film is even meant to be alot of the time. Which is sad as the idea of this films plot is one that could make for a passable direct to DVD horror film if the makers of the film bothered to actually focus on the plot instead of showing of the house that the film takes place it which just leaves us with a plot that even for one of these types of horror movies does feel underbaked with the plot of this fil not really being really rather entertaining as well as it not really being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Faith McKinstry as Kara , Emma Claire Dykes as Jenna and My Billionaire Husbands Secret Life star Michelle Sherrill as Amelia. Also starring in this film is My Janitor Dad Is the Final Boss star Samuel J. Bennett as Miles , one of this films producers and Minnie's Midnight Massacre star Tiffany McDonald as A Police Officer and The Events Surrounding a Peeping Tom and New Fears Eve star Hannah Fierman as Betty.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. It's fairly usual to expect there to be some bad acting in these kinds of horror films as they are all made really cheaply and really quickly more often then not being made as a quick cash grab that had no thought or effort put into them with this always being reflected in how bad the acting is in these films and yet even with that in mind wow is this acting bad as none of the main hero characters are well acted with all being super wooden at best. This is kind of understandable as these films are made quickly and more often then not never do a take two but it wouldn't have hurt this films actors to at the very least ask for a take two as that would mean that they then could give a better performance something which this films writer director and one of it's producers Brett Bentman would have had alot of say in doing due to the fact that he is the director , the writer and one of the films producers. With the best actor in this whole entire film being Hannah Fierman as Betty as she not only gets alot of the mannerisms down from the original character but she also gets the characters distinctive voice down as well all of which are things that do make more believable as a more twisted version of this classic cartoon character with the acting that's in this very film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none pf this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

To be frank none of this films characters are that well written with them all being nothing more then cardboard outs of stock horror characters. With none of this films characters being even remotely interesting as they all just feel like stock horror characters with nothing new added to them to make them feel new or unique with Kara being afraid of everything including her own shadow which just makes her an annoying character , Jenna is more interested in reading Betty's diary to get a chance to display much of a personality and Miles is just there as he adds nothing to the film with the only thing of note about him being the fact that he goes from nice and kind of charming to angry for literally no reason whatsoever. This just makes it obvious that the makers of this film didn't care about making a good film because of they did they would have spent more then what must have been a weekend writing the script and more then a few days in filming the film itself as they could have had the chance to give us characters that granted won't be that new but they would have come across as being more better as they would have spent alot more time in making them feel more like actual people and less like the characters that you would expect to see in the first raft of a script. However tho as they for some odd reason wanted to be the first Betty Boop themed horror film out there it means that we can't get interesting characters this is despite the fact that having Jenna always be reading Betty's dairy is a good way to give her some connection to the character as it would mean that she would get the chance to see a side of her that doesn't get shown in the film with this being something that could then be used to show of a different side to Jenna herself as she would then have to choose between helping her friends or killing someone that she knows isn't that mentally well.

Usually these films are made because of the fact that it's a still popular cartoon character that's entered the public domain which would thus make it easier to sell to us the audience. Yet here Betty Boop hasn't been popular since the sixties at best which makes it weird that the makers of this film would think that its a good idea to give her her own horror movie and while granted there will be some people such as myself who would be semi-interested in seeing a Betty Boop themed horror film there will be alot more people that don't know about her as her character hasn't been in anything for quite literally decades and therefor it does make it pointless for the makers of this film to make a film where she is the main villain of the film. Heck a much more better option would have been to make a Pluto horror film as while yes he is a side character to Mickey Mouse he is still alot more popular and alot more well known that what Betty Boop heck even Popeye who it could be argued isn't as popular as he once was is still more well known then what she is. This is not to say that there should never be a Betty Boop film as there should be more Betty Boop films but not one where she is the main villain  and not one that's being made and released at a time where her popularity is at it's lowest point as the whole idea behind these types of films is to shift copies of the film either on digital platforms or on DVD and Blu-Ray and that's not something that's going to happen as unless your of a certain age or you love old school cartoons chances are your not going to know who this is character is in the first place and therefor your less likely to want to check out this film in the first place.

Looks there are alot of bad things in this film but there are a few good things to be found in it as well loke the fact that Hannah Fierman does make for a good Betty. With her getting down the characters voice perfectly so much so that you do end up buying her as this character which does make it clear that she's the only one of this films actors that actually took the time to study the source material as she does actually feel like the original character only now she's mixed with a little bit of Harley Quinn for good measure which is fair enough as it is something that does make this take on the character feel unique to this film. With the other good thing being the fact that it does have the characters act somewhat smart as when they discover that all of the doors to the house are locked the first thing that they try to do is break the glass window only to discover that they can't do that either with this being something that is usually a huge bug bear as usually when character discover that they can't get of the house one way they usually just give up on trying to find another way and yet that's the first thing that this films characters do granted it doesn't work out all that well for them but it's the fact that they tried to do it in the first place that does make them seem more smarter then what they look. This is something that does show us the audience that the makers of this film really did know how to create good characters and have a good script as they do have the characters try all of the smart options first before then going along with all of the typical horror cliches when it would have been super easy for the makers of this film to have there characters play dumb for alot of this films running time all because of the fact that it's what they do in other horror films.

Usually when you get to the third act of a film you expect the film to start ramping up to it's climax this film however takes the opposite approach. As for literally no reason whatsoever the film then jumps back in time a few hours to have Jenna having a chat with her mother and then they reply almost the ENTIRE first scene with Jenna and her friends which is just so laughably stupid that it's hard to put it into words as they reveal nothing that impacts the plot of the film during either flashback it's literally just there to pad out the film and that's it as what they show us in those flashback scenes are just stuff that we already knew about the characters in the first place which just makes them being included at that point in the film be all the more pointless. Heck if they really wanted the scene with her mother in the film then why not have the film open up with that scene after the films opening credits as that then would be a more natural starting point then having the film start with the characters just pulling up to Betty's house as then we would be able to get some small amount of background information on the characters and it would make the Dizzy Dishes club have this slight air of mystery about it and yet for whatever reason the makers of this film instead decided not to do any of that as they instead thought that it would make more sense to open up this pretty boring film with this really boring characters arriving to the house and then have them spend a good few minuets just dumping exposition on why they are there when they could have done all of that by having the scene with Jenna and her mother be the scene that opens the film after it's opening kill.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twelve minuets and thirty four seconds. With the fact that this film having such a short running time being a good thing as it does mean that we don't have to sit through this painfully below average film for very long however tho this film really does have the right amount of plot to cover that amount of running time in the first place as it's so obvious that the flashbacks in this film are only there to pad out the films running time as they add nothing to the overall plot of the film and while the same thing could also be said for the films opening kill that kill was only there to get us in the mood for the film and therefor it didn't really need o connect to the main part of the film in the first place. This film also doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as it doesn't take the time to fully develop it's plot with it feeling like the makers of this film were treating this films plot more like an after thought as they thought that people would watch this film just due to the fact that they have a well known cartoon character as the films main villain which isn't bad thinking but the cartoon character still needs to be somewhat known for that thinking to make sense with this not being the case for Betty Boop therefor the makers of this film really should have put alot of them into developing the films plot. They don't even take the time to fully develop any of it's characters either as they really all just come across as being very note and very boring characters even Betty who is by far the films best character is still a pretty dull character as we don't even get to really find out why she's out for revenge in the first place which is the whole point of the film in the first place but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty OK at best. With this film committing the biggest sin that any slasher film could commit and that's not show us one of the films kills as while we do get to see two of the films three kills the film for some odd reason chooses not to show us one of the films kills not only that the film does go along time without showing us a kill when in a slasher film you do want to have the kills happen as quickly as possible even more so when you take into account that this film isn't even that long in the first place which makes it pointless for this film to be a slasher film. With the best kill in the whole entire film also being the films opening kill as we for some odd reason see that Betty can transport behind people for no reason with her her then stabbing the Police Woman that has come to check on her house in the back which is a simple kill but it is one that does get you in the mood for the rest of the film yet it does make you wonder why the makers of the film wouldn't bother to try and top that kill as  even tho this film doesn't have a big budget they could have put a good chunk of that budget into the films kills which would have the effect of making the film be alot more entertaining the what it is in the first place as right now the films kills are mostly really bad and yet by not showing us one of the kills in this film it does make the film be all the more worse with the rest of the films kills being just as good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall as was to be expected by now this film is nothing more then a below average film that will be forgotten about within a weeks time as this films is one that had the potential to be a good film it just needed a better film making team to make it be as good as it perhaps could have been in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad tings that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of te images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , Amazon . Co . Uk and Google Images.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Film Review

It's very rare these days that people have to wait a long time for a sequel especially when it comes to Hollywood. Yet that's exactl...
