A Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 Film Review

Horror fans there are quite alot of truly iconic horror villains out there with one of those villains being Freddy Krueger and since i'm a huge Freddy Krueger fan. You just know that I had to check out the film that started it all for Freddy Krueger and yeah it was a pure joy to back and watch this film and so then join me as I review the film that launched Robert England to superstardom in the horror world with the film in question being called simply just "A Nightmare On Elm Street" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Nancy and her friends have to survive a killer that kills you in your dreams with the catch being that if you die in your dreams then you die in real life as well. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really freaking good with this films main plotline being not only very well written but also very engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson and John Saxon as Lt. Donald "Don" Thompson. Also starring in this film is of course the great Robert Englund as Fred "Freddy" Krueger , Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz , Ronee Blakley as Marge Thompson , Amanda Wyss as Christina "Tina" Gray , Nick Corri as Rod Lane , Leslie Hoffman as Hall Guard , Joseph Whipp as Sgt. Parker and Charles Fleischer as Dr. King.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films main cast of actor and actresses giving some truly wonderful and some truly memorable performances which help make this film so freaking good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then this film features alot of truly iconic scenes all of which still hold up very well to this very day. This is because this film made great use of practical effects which will always look better then CGI effects because of the fact that CGI is always improving and this film is a great case for why practical effects will always look better then CGI effects will freaking do in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film has quite a few iconic characters within it even tho one of those characters is only iconic due to whom is playing him. What really does help these characters out quite alot is the fact that nearly all of them are written well yes characters like Rod and Glen aren't written that well but when we do get a well written character like Nancy or Freddy it really does go to show you how good of a freaking writer that the late writer and director Wes Craven well and truly was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

I'm not going to lie and say that all of this films practical effects look good because in truth they really don't. Like for example Freddy's arms growing just doesn't look that good anymore an the ending "death" scene with Nancy's mother being dragged through her door just looks really fake but the bad practical effects are very few and far between with this film having alot more actually good freaking practical effects that freaking still hold up well to this very day in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This is something that I really didn't notice until watching the film for this review but you can actually see Rod running into frame just before the character scares the other main characters. Just to explain what I mean if you pay close attention to one of the scenes in Tina's house when Glen walks over carrying something if you look in the back window you can just about see somebody running into what we know now would be Tina's back garden and I just loved that little attention to detail that no director would have bothered to include but the fact that it's included here just goes to show how much of stickler that Wes Craven was when it came to those small little pieces of detail in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then while I cannot remember whatever this films grand total running even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and twenty seven minuets. Which for a film like is is pretty much the bogstanderd running time and to this films credit it does make great use of that running time but at the same time tho I do wish that this film was a little bit longer just so we could then get a little bit more world building done and little bit character development for all of this films main cast of characters which just simply isn't possible with this films current running time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this film is a slasher horror film after all that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film are in all honesty really freaking cool. With all but Rod's death scene being a truly iconic death scene which for a slasher film is always going to be a very freaking good thing indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film and the Scream films are Wes Craven's magnum opus for me since both sets of films are so good and are so influential on the horror genre as a whole that they deserve all of the respect that they get in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film up on Google Images and pus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all fairly high quality and as well as being as fairly high definition and so then horror fans we ends this review as we always do with our ne and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

The Final Film Review

There are alot of horror films that sadly don't get alot of attention from either the mainstream audience or die hard horror fans alike....
