Knock At The Cabin Film Review

I think that it's safe to say that writer and director M. Night Shyamalan is a very mixed director when it comes to his horror films with some of the being really good and others being some peoples worst films ever. Well he's just released a new film and well with his recent films being both critical and box office hits I had to check this film out just to see if he really is bouncing back as a writer , director and producer and so then join me as I review the film that teams up Ronald Weasley with Drax The Destroyer with the film in question being called simply just "Knock At The Cabin" enjoy.

The plot of this film is two fathers and their daughter have to decide which one of them will die all before the world comes it's end. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being very creative and engaging as well as being fairly entertaining as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Guardians Of The Galaxy star Dave Bautista as Leonard and Frozen and Frozen 2 star Jonathan Groff as Eric. Also starring in this film is Pennyworth aka Pennyworth: The Origin Of Batman's Butler star Ben Aldridge as Andrew , The Omen remake star Nikki Amuka-Bird as Sabrina , Kristen Cui as Wen , Mad About You star Abby Quinn as Adriane and Harry Potter star Rupert Grint as Redmond.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films cast members turning in some shockingly good performances even Rupert Grint turns in a really good performance as well which was something that really did shock me just because of the fact that i've not seen him in alot of things.

This film is based of off the 2018 book by Paul Tremblay with the book itself being called simply just The Cabin At The End Of The World. As far as I can tell the film does follow the book rather well but there is one key difference that I can't say as it's a spoiler but let's just say that I wished that the film went with this scene as it would have made the film alot more darker then what it actually is and it would have given the film the edge that it very much needs but the change is somewhat understandable as it would have been a bit extreme for mainstream audiences.

What makes this films villains truly standout is the fact that it's villains are for the most part genuinely nice people. This also makes them rather scary as there doing this evil because of the fact that they genuinely believe it to be the right thing to do and also because of the fact that they are nice people as well and while these villains won't go down as the most well known villains in all of horror but they will go down as one of the most interesting villains that there is since they also feel genuine remorse for what it is that they have to do as well.

Unlike with alot of films written , directed and produced M. Night Shyamalan there really isn't a twist in this film. There is something close to a twist in this film which again due to it being a spoiler I can't really spoil it but it's not that good of a twist since it's something that's mentioned quite often which is a shame because it's a key plot point and as such alot of thought should have gone into holding of on this reveal just to make it all the ore shocking and that would have made feel alot more like a true M. Night Shyamalan plot twist.

One of this films key themes is that of family since we find out that our main family was chosen because their love for each other was pure. As such we get to see how this family works together as a family unit and while that isn't something that we get to see in the main bulk of the film when we do get to see it play it makes the characters feel alot more likable which was something that I really liked altho I would have liked if we got to see that this family wasn't as perfect as they make out to be which is something that is only hinted at in this film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty four minuets and sixteen seconds. Which is the absolutely perfect time for this film to last since it doesn't have alot of story to cover anything that's anywhere even close to being two hours long and as such this film does have some really good pacing with both the story and scenes moving at a great pace and with no scene lasting no longer then what it really needs to altho I would have liked it if this film was a little bit longer just so that they could fully develop all of it;s characters alot more then what it actually does in this film.

So now then since this is a horror film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film were in all honesty not that bad. Altho this film does commit the biggest sin that any horror film can commit and that's the fact that alot of this films kills happen off screen an that is something that shouldn't be the case since this is an R rated film and as such all of the kills should have be shown on screen in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while I can't say if this film is better then let's say The Departed for example I can say that is a very good film and it's one that shows that M. Night Shyamalan knows how to get good performances from his cast when he really wants to in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because of the fact Google Images actually has alot of images from this film up on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all fairly high quality and as well as being as fairly high definition and so then horror fans we ends this review as we always freaking do with our one and true freaking goddess Elvira wishing us all some very freaking unpleasant dreams indeed.

The Final Film Review

There are alot of horror films that sadly don't get alot of attention from either the mainstream audience or die hard horror fans alike....
