Nosferatu 2024 Film SPOILER FREE Review

Remakes in the world of horror are nothing new with there being a ton of horror remakes released every single year. Well now what is perhaps one of if not the most important vampire film ever made just had it's remake released and well then you all just knew that I had to check out this film the very first chance that I got and so then join me as I give you my SPOILER FREE review of the film that is alot better then alot of the other remakes out there with the film in question being called simply just "Nosferatu" enjoy.

The plot of this is when a young estate agent is assigned to a case from someone living in a far off country hoping to buy a home in Germany he unknowingly unleashes a evil upon his small village. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the plot of this film being alot better then what it really had any right to be as by all rights this remake shouldn't work and yet because of the fact that all of the people involved with the making of this film are some of the best at what they do which does include this films plot then it all comes together with the plot of this film being something that's really refreshing as it's a plot that really hasn't been in alot of films and while yes this film does reuse some very spoilery ideas it's how this films plot ties them all together that makes all of those ideas come across as being fresh and while the film doesn't have that many new ideas those that it does add really do make the plot of the film work even more then what it already does do in the final cut of the film and new all other again all of which do combine to make the plot of this film seem alot more better then what it really should have been and while yes there plot elements that don't really add up those are very few and far between with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok / Nosferatu , Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter and Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter. Also starring in this film is Kraven The Hunter and Godzilla 2014 star Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding , Emma Corrin as Anna Harding , Ralph Ineson as Dr. Wilhelm Sievers , Simon McBurney as Herr Knock and Willem Dafoe as Prof. Albin Eberhart Von Franz.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances in this very with it being very clear as day that this film producer , writer and director Robert Eggers really does know how to get a good performance out of all of his actors something that he continues to shows us in all of his projects with the best actors in this very film being Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding and Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter both of whom really do steal the show performance wise and it just goes to show that even with a bad film like Kraven The Hunter currently playing in cinemas that Aaron Taylor-Johnson really is a good actor who can turn in a really good performance with even Bill Skarsgård turning in a really chilling performance as Count Orlok / Nosferatu with this film being worth seeing just for the quality of the acting alone with the acting that's in this very film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

One of the key things that are needed to make a vampire film work is it's romance and with this being a spoiler free review it's not something hat can be covered to much in this very review. With the few things that can be said about this films romance is the act that what makes it work is the fact that all of the characters involved in it put in such a believable performance that it's hard not to buy into there romance with the very romance being the very key thing that drives the film forward so much so that it would be forgivable if some people thought that this was a romantic horror film and yet even so the romance in this film doesn't feel forced it feels like it's actually organic with all of the characters making the romance work when on paper it's something that really shouldn't have worked with this films romance even been shockingly well written as it would have been very easy to have this romance with one of the characters also being a really likable character where you do want to see this person happy and be with the one that they love and without going to much into spoilers this films romance does kind of have a Romeo & Juliet vibe to it as well which is something that pays off in what can only be described as being a very shocking ending all of which really do make this fil worth seeing just for how well done it's romance plot really is and just how well acted the whole romance is between all of the actors involved..

This film is of course a remake of thew 1922 German silent film of the exact same name this film being the perfect reason to do a remake a a truly classic horror film in thew first place. As it been so long now that not alot of people today would have been around when the original film was even being released with many people either having grown up with it on television or various re-releases where as now they have a version of the story is made for modern audiences but not in the way that you might think as really the only thing that they do is add sound to it and that's really it n whole only the most die hard of vampire fan will be able to tell you if this films plot is the exact same plot as the original from the point of view of alot of people myself included it doesn't really matter as this film much like the brief scenes that alot of us have seen of the original this film is dripping to the brim with gothic atmosphere something that does appear to also be the case with the original film only with this film it's now in colour and not in black and white and that's really it with this film being a really solid version of the story and it's something that Disney could learn a lesson from as instead of remaking a film that's not even ten years old the original film is over one hundred years old and this is the first remake that that film has ever gotten despite it being in the public domain for many years now and yet this will always be the films first remake.

One of the more shocking things about this film is the fact it does manage to draw you in and to keep you invested so much so that you want to know what happens next to these characters. This is something that alot of films really do fail to do as alot of them just content with coming and going and not really making sure that us the audience are invested in the characters and in that world and yet with this film because of the fact that the world is rich and filled to the brim with detail that it makes the world feel alot more lived in and fleshed out and as a result of that is the fact that we the audience really do want to see more of that world because of the fact that it's just dripping with gothic atmosphere and while yes parts of the world aren't as fleshed out as others and yes the characters do make some dumb choices later on in the film that doesn't change the fact that this films world is one that is a really well thought out world with it being clear as day that there was alot of love , care and attention to detail put all throughout this film to make it's world feel alot more lived in and real and that it's that kind of attention to detail that you just don't see in films any more and it's something that really should be demanded as it only enhances the film as a whole and if it's something that really is done right then it makes watching the film feel more rewarding as you get to spot little details that you might have noticed when viewing this film for the first time.

If this film did have any kind of flaws it's mainly due to the fact that alot of the films key characters aren't that well developed and do come across as being quite boring characters. With the best example of this being none other then Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter who despite being one of the films main characters really does come across as being quite a boring and bland character as alot of her scenes play out the exact same way with nothing new added to them which does have the point of making alot of her scenes seem dull and boringg which wouldn't be a bad thing if her character wasn't central to the films plot and while her character does have alot going for her the Ellen character is one that really should have been treated a whole lot better given how central she is to the films plot but she gets the gold star treatment when compared to Emma Corrin as Anna Harding who is just so forgettable that at times she just outright disappears from the film alot of the time and we the audience just don't notice that she's not in the film as that's just how pointless of a character that she really is with the film really being better off if her character wasn't included in the film and if the Ellen Hutter character was a really more better written character as well as she's the one that's more important to the plot of the film then what the Anna Harding character really is but for some reason the makers of this film thought that that film would be great if it had some dull characters in it.

Now the this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and two minuets and eighteen seconds. Which is a fairly solid running time for this film to have but at the same time time tho it's still quite along running time for a horror film to have even with the fact that this film really does gave more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that really large amount of running time this film is still a film that really should have been alot shorter then what it was just to make the film a whole lot more easier to watch since as as things stand even tho this film is a really good film which is something that nobody will ever take away from this film it's also a film that really doesn't take that full advantage of it's running time as it doesn't really flesh out alot of the characters all that much at east not to the point where you want to see more of them with the film just dropping characters for large portions of it's running time which does mean that the plot as well done as it is does loose its focus alot of the time all of these things wouldn't have been an issue if the film had just a slightly shorter running time as that would then allow for the film to have a more focused plot and to develop it's characters to the point where we the audience really do want to see more of them on screen and not forget about certain characters as well but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. For spoiler reasons I can't say why this films horror works all that well nor can I say that with film really does lack in something that alot of other horror films have but if you have seen this film then you'dd know both of those reasons but part of what makes this film just so creepy to watch is not only the visuals presented to us on screen but it's also the acting from all involved as everyone just gives a really creepy performance in the scenes where it's meant to be creepy and where your meant o be scared and while yes this film does have alot of the jump scares in it due to the how well done the visuals are in this film this films jump scares work really well as there something that you don't really see coming compare this to alot of horror horror films where you can see the jump scare coming a mile away and there for they loose the key element of surprise where as here tho that element of surprise not only works but actually really did help to make the film really even more creepier and even more scarier then what it actually would have been in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is a film that alot of lovers of vampire will absolutely eat up as it had alot of the things that they'll lone in it and it's a film that lovers of gothic horror and horror in general will be bound to love as well as will lovers of film in general as this film is just that good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the Images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all pf the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images really simply because Google Images actually really has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and really plus pretty much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images really were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we really do end this review as we really always do with really our one and really true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Scream 2022 Film A Short Review

Interms of horror franchises Scream is the one that not only has the least amount of installments but is also the only one where they spoof a common trend in not only horror itself but also Hollywood as well. With the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today being no exception to that rule as it spoofs legacy sequels and so then join me as I review the film that dares to actually kill off a member of the original cast with the film in question being called simply just "Scream" enjoy.

The plot of this film is after her sister is attacked and left for dead Sam returns to Woodsboro just as a new set of Ghostface killings begin. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as while yes it does seem like a straight forward remake of the first film the film does add enough new elements yo its plot to make what was becoming a very tired and warn out plot seem fresh and new again with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott , Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Also starring in this film is Melissa Barrera as Sam Carpenter , Jack Quaid as Richie Kirsch , Mikey Madison as Amber Freeman , Jenna Ortega as Tara Carpenter , Dylan Minnette as Wes Hicks , Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin , Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin , Sonia Ammar as Liv McKenzie , Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks , Skeet Ulrich as Billy Loomis , Kyle Gallner as Vince Schneider , Heather Matarazzo as Martha Meeks and Roger L. Jackson as The Voice Of Ghostface.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good which is something that really isn't all that surprising as this franchise from the films point of view that is gas also had directors who really do know how to get a good performance out of there actors which is also true for this film as both Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett really do know how to get some really good performances out of there actors with it also being helped by the fact that pretty much all of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in there own right as well with the acting that's in this very film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film

As was stated at the start of this review but this is the film that actually dares to kill of one of the original trio. Which in this case was Dewey which was something that worked as it subverts your expectations as you go into this film thinking that all of the original characters are going to make out of the film alive and well which makes it all the more shocking when he does get killed off in quite a brutal scene with his death now making it possible for all of the other original main characters to be killed off something that all of the other sequels refused to do and that one little thing now makes us the audience scared for the rest of the legacy characters since if Dewey can be killed off then maybe Sidney can be killed off as well or maybe perhaps Gale can be killed off as well.

Something that I noticed during this most recent viewing of the film. Is the fact that both this film and Star Wars: The Force Awakens have alot in common as they are not only both essentially remakes of there respective franchises first entry but they also both bring characters from the previous films they also both have a new character that's somehow tied into the original villain and they both have a legacy character killed off as well but where there different from each other is in the fact that this film knows that it's basically a remake of the first Scream and so it had fun with that by not only mentioning the fact that the events of this film happened back in the original but also straight up renaking and then putting new spins on classic scenes as well all if which go along way into proving that the makers of this film really were fans of the franchise as a whole something that quite clearly isn't the case with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Where this film does start to somewhat faulter is in the fact that it's main mystery isn't a good one. As the film really doesn't give you enough clues for us the audience to work out for ourselves who the killer or in this killers are something that alot of the films do quite well rhus making them great for repeat viewing and that is something that this film fails to do as apart from one scene with Ritchie watching a video of Stab 8 there's nothing in this film that hints at him being a Stab fan let alone one of the killers with the same thing also being true for Amber as well who for alot of the films running time is presented as someone who really doesn't like horror films all that much and yet it's revealed that she's a big Stab fan which both of which are things that don't make sense within the context of the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and fifty four minuets and eighteen seconds. Which is a solid running time for this as the film really does the right amount of plot to really cover that amount of running time with it being helped by the fact that all of the previous films also have very similar running times as well with this film really taking as full advantage of it's running time by really taking the time to fully flesh out the new characters so that we the audience actually care for them and want to see them make it out of the film alive and well with the films plot also being as fully fleshed out as it really could have been given just how basic the plot of the film is but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about all of the kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as there are only so many times that you cam see someone getting stabbed before it starts to get dull and boring which due to over the top the kills doesn't happen in this film with all of this films kills being really shocking to see due to how over the top that they get with the best kill in the film quite easily being the death of Dewey just because of the fact that we've spent four films with him and so his death will always be the best kill in the film due the emotional attachment that comes with his kill in my freaking opinions anyways / at least

Overall this film came at the right time as it proved that there really was still some life in this franchise something which was proven again with the release of Scream VI the following year with both films proving that this franchise really is the little franchise that could in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then interms of where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Scream fandom wiki page , Tenor and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being the official Scream fandom wiki page really simply because Google Images actually really has images from this film really are up and on the official Scream fandom wiki page and really plus pretty much all of the images that I personally found on the official Scream fandom wiki page really were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we really do end this review as we really always do with really our one and really true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Terrifier 2 Film Review

The Terrifier films are films that have shockingly been getting more and more popular with each passing release. So much so that the newest film in the franchise actually beat Joker: Folie à Deux at the box office for a few weeks and yet with that in mind I thought that now was the right time to check out my first ever Terrifier film just to see what all the fuss is about and so then join me as I review the film that has not one but two creepy clowns in it with the film in question being called simply just "Terrifier 2" enjoy.

The plot of this film is one year after the events of the first film teenager Sienna Shaw finds herself the target of a demonic clown that's hell bent on killing her and everyone that she loves. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being the kind of plot that could only work in a messed up movie like this one as while the plot of the first film was pretty light on story this film seems to be pretty heavy on story whilst also containing all the blood and gore that this franchise was known for however instead of having all that just for shock value which it very easily could have done it's instead used to advance the overall plot of the film which is something that you really don't see in any horror films and while yes the plot of this film could have been a bit more focused as it does come across as being all over the place at points but at the same time this films plot was also one that worked really well because of the fact that it was unfocused as it added to the overall crazy nature and tone of the film which is something that really did work for this film with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Lauren LaVera as Sienna Shaw , Elliott Fullam as Jonathan and Sarah Voigt as Barbara. Also starring in this film is Kailey Hyman as Brooke , Casey Hartnett as Allie , Charlie McElveen as Jeff , Amelie McLain as The Little Pale Girl , Johnath Davis as Ricky , Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes , Leah Voysey as Clown Cafe TV Host and A Nurse , Chris Jericho as Adam Burke , Felissa Rose as Ms. Principe , Owen Myre as Sean , Griffin Santopietro as Eric and Tamara Glynn as The Costume Shop Mom and David Howard Thornton as Art The Clown.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about thew actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually feature / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which is something that was really shocking as very few of this films actors are well known actors even within the horror community and as a result as of that is the fact that it really would have been foolish to expect some good performances from them and yet that's exactly what we get in this film with all of this films actors turning in much more better performances then what you typically find in not only a slasher film but in horror films in general and this is something that really does go along way to showing the mainstream audiences that you can get good acting in good and well made horror films as all you have to do is just look hard enough for them with it really being helped by the fact that franchise creators , writer and director Damien Leone really does known how to geta  good performance out of his actors something which does shine through in this film with the acting that's in this film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

This film pretty much introduces the character who could only be best described as being the Harley Quinn to the franchises version of The Joker. With the Harley Quinn of this series being Thee Little Pale Girl who acts exactly like Harley would do back in Batman: The Animated Series in that she always helps out with the schemes and is always there to give us the audience a small dark chuckle and it could even be argued that the character does also look like Harley Quinn as well with the character being a decent character in this film as she does act as someone that only Art himself can see thus making him appear to be even more insane to other people and when others can see him then it usually spells danger for them with the one thing that makes her and Art stand out in the world of horror villains being the fact there basically mimes as they don't talk at all but they get across what there saying and feeling through there actions and it's through there actions that we get the idea of them being close friends with each other who are just as each other and are both willing to do whatever it takes to do whatever it takes to get to there latest target and torture them both mentally and physically with The Little Pale Girl even somewhat acting as someone for Art to interact with as they duo do get alot of scenes together with both characters being truly evil characters and The Little Pale Girl being quite literally a female version of Art himself.

This franchise is alot like the Saw franchise in that they both got there start from short films which in the case of this franchise was The 9th Circle. With the character of Art then being spun off into his segments in anthology films before then taking centre stage in the 2016 film Terrifier with all of the Terrifier films getting more and more of a following being more and more popular which both this franchise and the Saw franchise being a good case for looking at small indie short films if you want to see the next big horror franchise as you really never know what the next big thing in horror can be with both Art and Billy The Puppet being prime example of that as both character really did come out of nowhere and take the horror world by storm and in the case of Art his costume was one of the most cosplayed costumes for Halloween this year and Billy The Puppet being the face of the Saw franchise so much so that all he had to do was appear in a few scenes in Scary Movie and people knew right away what it is they were parodying as he was just that well known of a character what also connects the two franchises is the fact that they are both the little franchise that could as despite everything going against them they still managed to keep on trucking and make fans out of those that perhaps wouldn't have given the time of day in the first place with both of these franchises also really going over the top with there gore as well.

This film does also introduce us with a great protagonist in the form of Sienna Shaw who is quite easily one of the better horror film protagonists in recent memory. As the character is given flaws that make her human and is given hobbies and interests that actually play into the plot of the film as well with the character being a very headstrong character who is very much a stickler for the rules something that is something that she has to overcome and learn to lighten up a bit and have some fun and as we do see how both being a stickler for the rules and having to much fun can get you into trouble as it's due to the fact that she's a stickler for the rules that she starts to see visions of Art and it's due to the fact that when she is having to much fun her friends drug her for no reason which is something that tells us that it;s OK to have fun and it's OK to be a stickler for the rules but you also need to have a healthy dose of the other in order to be a truly healthy person with her interests being that she likes to make costumes more specifically she likes to make costumes based off of drawings that her dead father drew with her costumes looking really good and it's also her costume that plays apart in the films plot as it turns out that her father actually prophesized that she would take on Art whilst wearing one of his costumes something which we see play out during the course of this films third act with the character also being the most likable character in this film as that's just how well written and acted that the character really is.

Out of all of the characters that are quite unlikable there's one that's really unlikable and that's the character of Barbara. Who is the mother of both Sienna and Jonathan and she's quite easily an unlikable character as instead f helping her kids out when they really need it she's more bothered about herself with the character even slapping Jonathan across the face quite hard as well when he dares to call her out for how she's been treating him and yet she doesn't apologise for her actions at all and this is something that makes her death so satisfying as we the audience are given no reason to really care about her character other then the fact that she still might be grieving for her husband and that she might not have fully recovered from his death but either way that's still not an excuse for acting like a terrible person to your own kids as there still recovering from his death as well and yet she doesn't take how there feeling into account and it's her death that really does make Art to be more of an anti-hero as all throughout the film we only see him attack characters that while nine times out of ten what there saying and going comes from a place of love it can still come across as being rude and mean and the best example of this is Barbara herself who is just so self absorbed that she's not really stopping to think how her kids her feeling and heck even when her son runs away from being hit by her she does nothing to go and find them she just stays at the house and continues drinking.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and eighteen minuets and twenty six seconds. Which for any film let alone a slasher horror film is such a long running tie to have but to this films credit this film really does have more then enough there in terms of plot to really cover that really large amount of running time but at the same time tho this film really didn't need to be that long as you very easily could have told this films plot in well under two hours and by doing that it would mean that the plot of the film would be alot more focused as there would be no pointless filler scenes like we get in this very movie with the only reason as to why this film was as long as it was is because of the fact that it has some really long death scenes and a few filler scenes that really aren't needed like for example this films mid-credits didn't need to be almost five minuets long and the scene with Sienna at school really isn't needed either as it adds nothing to the actual plot of the film and while having the film be this long does allow for the characters to become more fully three dimensional characters and that is something that would be effected if the film did have a shorter running time but that's something that could also be worked out in the editing of the film tho and wouldn't really be that big of an issue due to the fact that this film is well written in the first place but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher films that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films kills being the best aspect of the film itself as there so over the top and there so gory that you can't help but fall in love with them with Art himself being a really sadistic killer who is willing to kill his victims in really unique ways and heck even the films best kill is also the films longest kills as it eats up at the very least ten minuets of the films running time and that's the death of Brooke who gets very badly beaten with her face smashed in and her bones broken amongst other things and that is something that really does make her kill the best kill in the movie with it also being helped by the fact that her kill is also the most unsettling kill in the whole entire movie because of the fact that like all good horror films the film really does take it's time on delivering the kill itself and so there's always that tension building and building there until the final kill blow is delivered by which point us the audience are really not only so filled with dread that we can't wait for it to end but we're also really so grossed out by it as well that we really don't want to end either with alot of this films kills also being both really gross and yet really creative as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this was a really good film and it's not hard to see why Art has become this pop culture figure as he really is an enigmatic villain who has alot of character to him with this film being the best example of just how good a slasher film can be and it''s all due to the fact that it's a good film regardless of it's a slasher film or not in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Terrifier fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards .

A Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 Film Review

This is a very special day indeed as the film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today is now officially forty years old. As this film was first released all the way back in 1984 and unlike Warner Bros who really decided to start releasing there fortieth anniversary Blu-Ray of the film in around August to September I decided to hold of reviewing the film really until the exact day that it turned forty with this film review really being written on the exact day that this film was first released all the way back in 1984 and so then join me as I review the film that really basically shows us a more demented version of Kevin McCallister with the film in question being called simply just "A Nightmare On Elm Street" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when she and her friends start having nightmares about the same man it's up to Nancy to find a way to stop these deadly nightmares before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was n all honesty really good as the plot of this film is one of this films highlights as it's just so fresh and different and heck nothing after this film has even dared to us the same plot which does make it stand out quite a bit and while yes the plot of this film really could have done with being fleshed out alot more then what it was given that this film had for what was at the time a really small production budget it's a wonder that the films plot turned out as good as it was and was as focused as it was as it would gave been very easy for the plot of this film to have been lost in the shuffle and become more of an afterthought but because of the fact that this film was a passion project for writer and director Wes Craven the films plot really does take centre stage and as a result of that is the fact that we end up with a film where it's plot is just so good from beginning to end with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson and Robert Englund as Fred "Freddy" Krueger. Also starring in this film is Ronee Blakley as Marge Thompson , John Saxon as Lt. Donald "Don" Thompson , Amanda Wyss as Christina "Tina" Gray , Nick Corri as Rod Lane , Leslie Hoffman as The Hall Guard , Joseph Whipp as Sgt. Parker , Charles Fleischer as Dr. King , Lin Shaye as The Teacher , Ed Call as Mr. Lantz , Sandy Lipton as Mrs. Lantz , Donna Woodrum as Mrs. Gray and Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty / personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances which given who is starring in this film both is and isn't a surprise it's surprise in the case that none of this films actors were known actors back then and alot of them still aren't known all that well now and as such it would have been foolish to expect a good performance from these actors but at the same time it's also not all that surprising that this films acting is just so good as some of this films actors are now known names in Hollywood be it for there acting or there effects work in other movies and TV shows with those actors turning in some truly wonderful performances in this film and proving that even in horror films you can still find good acting as all you'd need is a good script , a good director and good actors ad that's really it and that's what this film has in spades with the the acting that's in this very film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

One of this things that this film rather rightfully gets alot of praise it's use of practical effects and it's easy to understand why. With all of this films practical effects not only looking really good but also being the very definition of the word iconic as that's exactly what they are and heck so many of this films effects scenes are so iconic that when it came to redoing them in the 2010 remake alot of them were also done practically with the only one being done in CGI being the scene where Freddy tries to come through the wall with this films version of that scene being the better one because of the fact that it was done for real and it looks super creepy because of that fact and it's the exact same thing for all of this films practical effects as they were all done practically and they all look good because of that fact with practical effects always looking so much better then CGI effects with this film even doing effects that make you question how they were done with the best example of that being the deaths of both Tina and Glenn as with Tina's she is dragged up her mothers bedroom wall and onto the ceiling and in the case of Glenn we hos blood shooting up from out of his bed and landing on his ceiling all which make you wonder how they did those scenes something that would have been obvious if the film was made today but back when this film was being made you had to find a way to make those effects and they found a great way by having a rotating set and looking the camera down and both scenes look really good.

To be frank Nancy is a great final girl because of the fact that not only does the character have tons of personality but she's also a really likable character as well. With the character being very proactive in defeating Freddy as she straight up turn her house into a one giant Home Alone style trap as the second she finds out that she can bring things out of her dreams she starts making plans to defeat Freddy in the real world with the only thing that lets her down is the fact that her mother doesn't believe and actively trys to stop her from defeating Freddy but yet she shows her smarts by finding ways around her mother which she does end up doing and because of that she's able to rig up the house with several trap to aid her in defeating Freddy but at the same time tho the character can be seen as being annoying as she does spend the vast amount of this films running time just shouting for her mother and that's really it which is understandable given the situation that she's in but at the same time it makes her come across as being a slightly annoying character however she gets the golden treatment when it comes to the vast majority of her friends as all of them about from Glenn don't have much in the way of personality with Rod being the stereotypical jock type of character with him getting some character development but not much and sadly due to the fact that she's not in the film all that long Tina doesn't really get the time to display any kind of personality trait.

While Nancy's and her friends don't have much in the way of personalities they are better written then alot of other horror friend groups out there. As they do help to advance the overall plot of the film as it's there deaths that helps to spread a degree of panic across the town of Springwood as well as starting to get Nancy to wonder if she's actually crazy or not but at the same time tho her friends are mostly likeable characters with the same thing even being true for Rod who despite being a fairly unlikable character for alot of the films running time does also have his fare share of moments that make him a more likable like the fact that when Freddy is trying to kill off Tina in the bedroom he does at least make an effort to get him off of her which granted doesn't exactly end well for either of them but it's the fact that he at least the very least made the effort to try and save the life of his girlfriend that makes him a more likable character and while Glenn does come across as being the stereotypical "normal" teenager he does show all throughout the film that he's willing to help his girlfriend Nancy out even tho there's a chance that she could be crazy with Tina being a kind person who is willing to anything for anybody and it's these things that make her friends stand out from all of the horror friendship groups as alot of them just come across as being very one dimensional characters that are only here just because of the fact that the makers of the film want a high body count and that's really it.

While this film does have it's fair share of really creepy and scary moment in it the film does also have its fair share of really goofy moments in it as well. Like the fact that when Freddy runs he has some really long arms for no reason whatever which is meant to be scary as it's the main villain chasing down somebody but at the same time tho it just comes as being really goofy as all you can see is somebody with some really long arms trying and failing to catch someone and the fact that the we see Freddy grow his arms again for no reason does look good but at the same time it also comes across as being a really goofy looking scene as it's something that's never brought up every again but while the film does gave some really goofy moments in it there done in a way that makes it clear that the makers of this film are fully aware of the fact that it's a goofy looking scene and because of that it comes off a being a really fun and cheesy scene as well however given that this film is the first film in the franchise the film should have included scenes with Freddy just being scary and not really making that many dark jokes which in this film do work as they do feel in his character to do that and they do come across as him playing with his food and aren't as cheesy and as campy as they would later become in the later films as at the very least in this film they are still some creepy jokes that add to the overall tension of the scene and don't really take anything away from the scene in question which is something that they very easily could have done.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running tome of exactly one hour and thirty one minuets and fourteen seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running tin e that you'd expect a film like this one to have as slasher films don't really have that long of a running time with this film also having the right of plot there to really cover that amount of running tome but at the same time this film really would have been helped if it was a little bit longer as it allow for the plot of to be a bit more fully developed then what it already was and while we do get some hints of Freddy's backstory due to this films incredibly short running time his backstory can't be elaborated on which could be something that could be fixed in the film did have a slightly longer running time but at the same time tho Freddy's backstory might be more scarier because of the fact that we the audience don;t get to find out al that much about him but with the extra running time it would allow for characters like Rod and Tina to get across more of that it is that there respective characters are even meant to be as given the fact that they are killed off pretty quickly in the film they don't really get much of a chance to actually shine in this film and thus can come across as being really forgettable characters when there characters that should be more memorable characters but at the sae time tho alot of the extra scenes could be seen as being filler scenes as there's no way that the added scenes in this film would be able to add anything to the actual plot of this film and would come across as being really unneeded in the grand scheme of things but I really will admit that this film really foes have sone really good pacing to it tho.

So ow then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With pretty much all of this films being memorable for one reason or another be it because of the fact that there were really cool as in the case of Glenn or really stupid and down right laughable as in the case of Marge Thompson's death where it's obvious that the actress was swapped out for a dummy with the best kill in the whole movie being a tie between Tina and Glenn as both of there death scenes are not only really memorable but they both also play apart in the character journeys of both Rod and Nancy as well as we get to see briefly how Rod is effected by the death and the fact that he really is innocent something which he begs Nancy to prove and we see Nancy become more determined to defeat Freddy the second that she finds out that the last of friendship group is dead and while yes it does help that both of there deaths are some really cool looking deaths that's not the whole reason as to why they were best kills in the movie because as was just mentioned they do play a role in both of the characters journeys for both Rod and Nancy something that no other kill in a slasher film has dared to do both this film and after this film which is something that really makes there kills in this film really stand out as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is still just so good even forty years as it's a fail that really has aged badly at all as all of things that worked in this film when it was first released all of those years ago still work in this film now even all of those years later as that's just how good and just how impactful that this film really is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things thar are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official, A Nightmare On Elm Street fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards .

Halloween H20: 20 Years Later Film Review

This review is being written on Halloween night and as such it was only about right that something that horror related get reviewed. Well with there being so many Halloween movies out there it really was tough to pick which one it was that gets reviewed and well I think i've found one that's the perfect choice given what day that this review is actually being written on and so then join me as I review the film that sees the man with the worlds most famous bleached William Shatner mask return once more with the film in question being called simply just "Halloween H20: 20 Years Later" enjoy.

The plot of this film is Laurie and her son Jon find themselves in the fight for there lives when Micheal Myers returns to try and kill Laurie twenty years after his attempt. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as the plot of this film does do a very good job of telling the stereotypical Halloween story but in a way that makes it feel fresh and different which is something that this franchise really did need as it was beginning to get stale at this point in the franchises history but at the same time it's hard to say that this films plot is outright good either because if truth be told it's not as it just comes across as being the stereotypical slasher plot which is something that just doesn't work for the franchise that many consider to be one of the greatest slasher films of all time as a franchise that's this iconic does deserve a plot that is not only fresh and different but is also willing to actually be good and do something plot wise that harkens back to the original something which the plot of this film does also fail to do with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode / Keri Tate , Josh Hartnett as John Tate and Adam Arkin as Will Brennan. Also starring in this film is Michelle Williams as Molly Cartwell , Adam Hann-Byrd as Charlie Deveraux , Jodi Lyn O'Keefe as Sarah Wainthrope , Psycho star Janet Leigh as Norma Watson , LL Cool J as Ronald 'Ronny' Jones , Nancy Stephens as Marion Chambers-Whittington , Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jimmy Howell , Branden Williams as Tony Alegre , Beau Billingslea as Detective Fitzsimmons , Matt Winston as Matt Sampson , Larisa Miller as Claudia , Emmalee Thompson as Casey , voice acting legend Tom Kane as the voice of Dr. Sam Loomis and Chris Durand as Michael Myers.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the actors that you expect a really good performance like for example Jamie Lee Curtis really giving us exactly that a really good performance but at the same time where this films acting fails tho is due to the films younger actors who just can;t deliver as good of a performance especially when compared to the films more older actors with the films more younger actors coming across as being wooded and while alot of the blame for there performance does have to go to the actual actors themselves alot of the blame does also have to go to this film director Steve Miner who despite him being able to get a good performance out of his actors in his other films n this film just can;t manage to get a good performance out of his younger actors with even the films older actors only turning in a good performance not because oof the films director but because of the fact that they know how to do so with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script s just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in his very film.

While the films three legacy characters are handled somewhat OK it's the films newer characters that aren't that good. With alot of this films new characters being very badly written with one or two exceptions as John for example does come across as being kind of a hot head who is a little bit on the whiney side of things as well but at the same time given that he's been living with Laurie and the fact that she has PTSD and has pushed alot of her fears and concerns onto him it is kind of understandable why he acts the way that he does with the other decently written character being Will Brennan who is Laurie's supportive boyfriend and is just trying to do the best that he can do but the rest of this films characters just aren't that good with alot of them being very badly written characters who have the personality of a blank of wood and as a result of that is the fact that alot of this films character do indeed come across as being very dimensional with the film not really taking the time that it needs to fully develop instead just leaving as being very under developed characters that really should have been written alot more better as they are characters that could have been used in future sequels and be used to carry the franchise forward but instead all we get are characters that are very forgettable and just feel like that there characters that are in a slasher film instead of being fully formed characters that could have been used to carry the franchise forward should Jamie Lee Curtis have chosen not to return for anymore sequels.

This film was released in the aftermath of Scream and my god do you feel it as not only is there an oddly placed scene with two of the characters watching a scene from Scream 2. The film also had an uncredited rewrite from Scream creator Kevin Williamson with the film also oddly enough having a big of mystery element to it with the characters trying to work who is doing these killings which really doesn't work as the film not only outright tells us who the killer is at the start of the film it's also painfully obvious who the main killer of the film given that this is a film in the Halloween franchise but thankfully this film doesn't go full Scream by referencing every single horror movie under the sun but given just how good Scream was as it really did elevate the slasher genre at the time where as this film instead feeling like a slasher film that would be right at home if it was made and released in the eighties and not in the nineties as everything about this film just screams eighties horror slasher film and there's nothing that you'd expect or even want in a slasher film that made after the release of Scream as Scream really did make slasher movies a somewhat smart subgenre of horror where as this film just makes takes away alot of that work that Scream did and ironically enough what the very first Halloween film did and all for no reason whatsoever as this film really is a dumb slasher film but it's not dumb in the way that it would make it a fun filled film to watch as instead it's just a dumb film for all of the wrong reasons.

One of the things that the Halloween franchise is known for is for having multiple timelines with this film kicking off it's third timeline. As with this film Laurie faked her death sometime after the events of the Halloween 2 and went into hiding with her son John which does mean that Jaimie is now no longer a canon character in this timeline with her great character instead being replaced with a much more boring character but the idea of having Laurie have PTSD and showing her suffering the side effects of the first two Halloween movies is a good idea as it's an approach that we really haven't seen before now as even slashers that brought back the protagonist of a movie like Friday The 13th Part 2 , A Nightmare On Elm 3: Dream Warriors , A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: Dream Master and A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: Dream Child don't even do that and they don't even hint of those characters having any kind of mental issues which is a shame because that thought alone does make for an interesting plot arc for the main character to go through as now the main character has to overcome that fear of surviving that first movie and coming face to face with the person who put them through hell or is related to someone who put them through hell and yet no slasher film has done it when it is something that really could work for a slasher film but even then it still doesn't matter as the films timeline was going to be stopped at somepoint anyway so the changes that they made to the Laurie Strode character was never going to stay with the character and she always going to revert back to how was in the original Halloween due to the fact that the makers of these films love creating new timelines for these films.

While this film does have a really unique setting with the film being set at what is basically a boarding school. The film really doesn't take that much time in fully developing it's setting as instead it's far more interesting in giving us a romance between John and Molly and Charlie and Sarah all of which isn't needed in the film as the film really doesn't go to the lengths to fully develop any of them as characters and as a result of that is the fact that we audience don't want to see any of these characters together as the film doesn't give us a reason to fully care for these characters which means that when not only do the couples get separated and then killed of in the case of Charlie and Sarah we the audience are left with feeling nothing when we should be feeling sad that those characters are no longer in the film but because of the fact that the film chose not to give us interesting new characters that we want to see more off as it's instead more focused on giving two very badly romances with the only romance in this film that's only somewhat decent being the one between Laurie and Will as at the very least get to see alot of those two together and we get to see the chemistry that those two characters actually have where as with the teens romance none pf that is there as while yes we do get to see the couples together none of them have any chemistry together and all of there scenes together are a bunch of very badly written scenes that add nothing to either plot of the film or the characters.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running tie of exactly one hour and twenty five minuets and fifty eight minuets. Which even for a Halloween film and even for a slasher film is such a short running tie for this film to have as this film really does have more then enough there interms of plot to really cover a much more longer running time then that as the only thing that the film would have to do is just flesh out it's plot and to flesh out it's characters and that's really it and yet for some strange reason the film does neither of that all for no reason as there was no sequel on the cards at the time so there was no scenes setting up a sequel as that was something that star Jamie Lee Curtis demanded not be in the film and yet for some strange reason the film was still really short and this is something that really does have a knock on effect throughout the rest of the film as it now means that the films newer characters can't be fully developed characters and it means that the stuff with Laurie can't be fully explored either as the film now has to rush from plot point to plot point in order to meet that really shorter running timer when instead making the film longer even by ten or fifteen minuets would not only make the film better as it would allow for the characters and the plot to be fully developed but it would also for the film to built up tension with out the use of having scary music literally every single time that Micheal Myers appears on screen but I really will admit that this film really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I gave to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which is something that does work for this film as this franchise has always had some really good kills in it even going back to the very first film so there is a president set there for there being some really fun and goofy kills in it with the same thing also being true for this film as well as there are alot of kills in this film that are really fun and goofy like the fact that Micheal uses a dumbwaiter to break her leg and then he stabs her to death and then just to taunt his foes he hangs her body up on the ceiling with a working light in her stomach which is a really fun and goofy kill with the best kill in the whole entire movie being that of Micheal himself just because of the fact that it was kill that we the audience had been waiting twenty years for which is something that does make his kill as short as it is feel earned as we the audience know what not only Laurie but the other characters that Micheal has gone up against have gone through trying to take him and while yes the next film does straight up ignore undo the fact that he gets his head chopped off at the end of this film it still doesn't really change the fact that his kill in this film was a really good and a really shocking kill in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while is a decent sequel and it does indeed serve as a great what if type of scenario for the Laurie Strode character its also a film that's not really as good as it really could have been as the film does have alot of faults in it as it is a film that just reeks of being made in the nineties when it's a film that really should have been made in the eighties and no later then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thins that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys an girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all mf the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .

Abigail 2024 Film Review

To say that 2024 was a shockingly good year for horror movies would be like that The Mouse Trap was a bad movie no duh. As we had a shocking...
