Horror fans today is the day that fans of Don't Breathe have been waiting for since Don't Breathe 2 has just been released and well since i was a huge fan of the first film in this series / franchise. You just know that I was going to be watching this film at the very first chance that I had and so join me as I review the film that is in all honesty a huge step down in quality when compared to the first film with this film in question being called simply just "Don't Breathe 2" enjoy.
Now then the plot of this film is right long years after the events of the first film The Blind Man finds his quite life with his eleven year old daughter disrupted and thus disturbed when a gang decide to attack Norman Nordstrom (The Blind Man) and kidnap his eleven year old daughter. The plot of this film is the very first thing that's wrong with this film since / simply because the plot of this film isn't as engaging nor is it as fresh or as original as the plot of the first film in my opinion anyways / at least.
Starring in this film is the always bada*s and the always super freaking talented we have the great Stephen Lang as Norman Nordstrom AKA The Blind Man and Brendan Sexton III as Raylan. Also starring in this film is Madelyn Grace as Phoenix , Stephanie Arcila as Hernandez , Diaana Babnicova as Billy , Adam Young as Jim Bob , Bobby Schofield as Jared , Rocci Williams as Duke , Christian Zagia as Raul and Steffan Rhodri as The Surgeon.
Now then interms of what I thought / felt about the actual acting that's featured / presented to us in this actual / very /particular film in all honesty I in all honesty thought / felt that the acting that's featured / presented to us in this actual / very / particular film was at best OK. This is simply because the performances are overall very mixed for me personally with some actors like Stephen Lang , Madelyn Grace and Brendan Sexton III turning in some really good performances but then the rest of cast turn very bad performances and it's those exact same bad performances that bring down the overall quality of the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very film in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then for some dumb reason the makers of this film chose to have this film be opened up on the exact same day as Free Guy AKA The latest / newest Ryan Reynolds movie. This was a dumb mistake / move simply because alot more people were hyped up for Free Guy then they were hyped up for this film and as such having this film open up either two weeks after or even two weeks before Free Guy would have assured that this film would have made alot more money and thus would have been seen by a lot more people but as it is this film isn't won't be making that much money and thus alot more / of people won't be paying to see this film in the theatres / cinemas but that's just what I think anyways and that's just in my very humble and as well as being in my very honest opinion anyways / at least.
Now then if your like me and you saw the teaser trailer and actual trailer for this film then chances are you had one major concern and well without giving anything away you had every single freaking right to be concerned because yes this film goes exactly where you think that it was going to go with a certain character. Now then why they did this to this certain character is well and truly beyond since it was just such a stupid as heck idea for a sequel to a horror film to do with this certain main character and makes absolutely no sense either for the character in the context of this film in my opinion anyways / at least.
Look I want it known right freaking now that i'm not opposed to them doing what it is that the makers of this film did to this certain main male character but there absolutely has to be some sort of in story explanation as to why this character has made such a change in there actual character. However the makers of this film openly chose not to give us an in story explanation and as such this change in this certain main characters actual character comes quite literally out of nowhere
Now then this film isn't all that bad since there are some things in this film that I actually enjoyed like to example the idea of The Blind Man having a daughter is a good idea. However every good idea that this film has gets thrown out of the window because of the plain and simple fact that the script for this film just isn't as good as the script for the first film and as such these new and actually good and exciting ideas aren't really allowed to flourish because the fact that the script for this film just plain and simply won't let these new , fresh and exciting ideas fully flourish in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then this film has / had a very much grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty one minuets and seven seconds and well if i'm being well and truly freaking honest here people I in all honesty think / feel that this film didn't need to be as long as it is at all in my opinion anyways / at least. This is simply just because i dont really feel that this film has a strong enough story to support this films running of one hour and thirty one minuets and seven seconds and as such this film should have at the very least have been forty five minuets because that's the only amount of running time that this films story has to cover in my opinion anyways / at least.
Now then since this film is meant to be a horror film after all that does infact mean that I have to actually talk about the scares and the kills that are featured / presented to us in this film very film / actual and if i'm being well nd truly very freaking honest in my opinion anyways / at least the cares and the kills that are featured / presented to us in this very / actual film are a very mixed bag of affairs for me personally. This because even tho the kills are pretty and are pretty creative as well the scares that are featured / presented to us in this very / actual film are what lets the horror aspect of this horror film down quite alot in my opinion anyways / at least since there's nothing that's actually going on in this film but that's just what I think and that's just in my very humble and as well as being in my very honest opinion anyways / at least.
Overall as you can most likely already tell from what i've said in this very review I in all honesty really think / feel /felt that this film was a huge step down in quality from the first film. Now i've talked about all of the good things and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very / actual film in this very / actual review and as such that means that this film gets a total grand score of a 5.5 out of 10 from this horror fan.
