The Munsters Revenge Film Review

Ladies and gentlemen recently i've been thinking alot about The Munsters I don't know why i've been thinking about The Munsters but i've been thinking about The Munsters alot over the past few days. Since i've already reviewed the first Munster film and as well as an episode of The Munsters TV series / TV show and so it only makes sense that I now review the second ever The Munsters film and so join me as I review the film that brought The Munsters into the nineteen eighties with the film in question being called simply just "The Munsters Revenge" enjoy.

The plot of this film Is Herman and Grandpa find themselves being framed for a series of crimes that they didn't commit and so they have to clear there names before they got locked up and sent to jail forever. Now then in terms of what I thought about the plot of this film in all honesty the plot of this film isn't that bad the issue is tho the plot of this film isn't that good either since the plot of this film sidelines the vast majority of The Munster family for no reason and the story that's being told is at best an OK story and nothing more then that.

Starring in this film is Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster , Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster and Al Lewis as Grandpa Dracula. Also starring in this film is K.C. Martel as Eddie Munster , Jo McDonnell as Marilyn Munster , Bob Hastings as Phantom Of The Opera , Peter Fox as Glen Boyle , Herb Voland as Police Chief Harry Boyle , Charles Macaulay as Police Commissioner , Colby Chester as Michael , Joseph Ruskin as Paulo , Sid Caesar as Dr. Dustin Diablo , Howard Morris as Igor , Ezra Stone as Dr. Lichtlighter and Michael McManus as Ralph.

Now then in terms of what I personally about the acting that's featured / presented to us in this very movie / film in all honesty I honestly thought that the acting that's / that was featured / presented to us in this very movie / film was in all honesty really good. Which shouldn't come as a surprise since three of the original cast members are reprising their roles for this film but even the newer cast members that are introduced in this film do a really good at portraying their respective characters altho the actor playing Eddie Munster does seem to be a little wooded acting / performance wise tho.

Now then as alot of you will know this film is the second live action film adaptation of The Munsters TV show and it was the last Munsters film to star any member of the original series cast. In all honesty only the original series cast can every play these characters since all of the original series cast was so good both in the show and in Munster, Go Home! but at the same time times change and hopefully we'll one day find another group of actors who are just simply perfect as the titular The Munster family but that is something that sadly only time will indeed be able to tell but that's just what I think anyways and that's just in my very humble and as well as being in my very honest opinion anyways.

As alot of us will know The Munsters also had a terrible sitcom continuation of the The Munsters TV show with the continuation TV show in question being called simply just "The Munsters Today" which for some reason transported the entire Munster family to 1988 America. However what some people might not know is that The Monsters Today could also be seen as a reboot since this very film is set in 1981 America where as The Munsters Today had a now possibly lost pilot episode which had The Munster family falling asleep in 1966 due to one of Grandpa's inventions going horribly awry and which results in the entre family being asleep until they are awoken in 1988 America.

On top of that is the fact that The Munsters Today featured none of the original series cast even tho Fred Gwynne was indeed offered the chance to reprise his role of Herman Munster for this new continuation show but turned it down and Al Lewis who wanted to reprise his role as Grandpa Munster wasn't even offered the chance to reprise his role as Grandpa Munster. As such The Munsters Today could be seen as being set in an entirely  different universe which just going of the opening intro to / for The Munsters Today is indeed a very good thing indeed.

There are two major issues that I personally had with this film the first of which is the fact that there are so few scenes with the entire Munster family together which is a shame because half of the fun of The Munsters s seeing the family interacting with each other and this film denies us that. The second issue that I personally had with the film is the fact that both Eddie Munster and Lily Munster are sidelined for the vast majority of the movie and as such both Eddie Munster and Lily Munster feel more like side characters in their own movie.

Now this film had a grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty six minuets and five seconds which I personally felt was the right amount of running time for this film. Since if i'm being well and truly honest here people this film really doesn't have enough there in terms of either story or plot to cover anything longer then one hour and thirty six minuets and five seconds in my opinion anyways / at least.

Now then since this film is a comedy after all and so that means that I have to actually talk about the comedy / jokes that are featured / presented to us in this very film and well if i'm being honest here people the comedy / joes that are featured / presented to us in this film / movie are in all honesty pretty good. Since there are some in all honesty really good jokes in this film and both Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis are really funny together in this film since both of them make alot of the jokes that are in this film really funny but sadly tho there are alot of bad jokes that are in this film as well and even sadder is the fact that there are alot more bad jokes then there are good jokes that are in this very film / movie in my opinion anyways / at least.

Overall while I cannot in good faith say that this is a good film because it's all honesty not a good film it's also not a bad film either since everything that's done in this film is very middle of the road with everything just being average and nothing more then that in my opinion anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good things and as well as all of the bad things that are in this film in this very review and that means that this film gets a score of a 5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I used in this very review from Google Images and Wikipedia. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images that are actually from this film and that that I personally / actually used in this very review being Google Images this is simply because Google Images actually has alot of images from this film and plus alot of / nearly all of the images that are from this film and that are currently up on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high definition and as always we end this review as we always do which is with one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams indeed.

The Final Film Review

There are alot of horror films that sadly don't get alot of attention from either the mainstream audience or die hard horror fans alike....
