Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey Film Review

Disney really does seem to be having alot of bad luck when it comes to copyright as they did loose the copyright to Steamboat Willie just over a month ago now. However people seem to be forgetting that that wasn't the first time that Disney have had to deal with copyrighted characters going into the public domain as a character that while they didn't create him or friends took on a life of his own due to the Disney version and well with the sequel due out soon it was really only about right that I took a look back at the first film and so then join me as I review that really took the internet by storm for all of the wrong reasons with the film in question being called simply just "Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood And Honey" enjoy.

The plot of this film is five years after he left to go college Christopher Robin returns to the hundred acre wood and finds that Pooh and Piglet have become silent slasher movie killers and must stop them before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but that's also the issue as this films plot really isn't all that good either with the plot of the film being as bad as you'd think it would be but also not as a fun as a title like this really should be with the films plot being a really dark plot when it really should have been more of a horror comedy with the plot of the film being really entertaining and also really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Nikolai Leon as Christopher Robin , Maria Taylor as Maria and Natasha Rose Mills as Jessica. Also starring in this film is Amber Doig-Thorne as Alice , Danielle Ronald as Zoe , Natasha Tosini as Lara , Paula Coiz as Mary , May Kelly as Tina , Danielle Scott as Charlene , Marcus Massey as Colt , Richard D. Myers as Logan , Simon Ellis as Tucker , Jase Rivers as John , Mark Haldor as Darrel , Toby Wynn-Davies as The Narrator , Chris Cordell as Piglet and Craig David Dowsett as Winnie-The-Pooh.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. With none of this films cast members turning in that good of a performance there are a few that are quite clearly trying to turn in a good performance but due to the films incredibly small budget it comes across as them only doing one take of each scene as they didn't have enough money to do a second take with this not really being helped by the fact that the films script is just so bad that it gives none of the films cast anything to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place.

For those of you that don't know this film was only able to get made because of the fact that all of the characters that appeared in the very first Winnie The Pooh book fell into the public domain. Which means that while people can now use those characters it has to be the book versions of the characters as the Disney versions of the characters are still under copyright and it means that we can now expect more out there takes on these characters just like we can and are indeed getting more weird versions of the Steamboat Willie storyline this is something that can work in favor of the makers of those films as it means that people who grew up with the Disney version s are going to be interested in seeing these more mature takes on these characters but at the same time tho if those films or whatever aren't good then your going to risk making the fans of those characters alot more angry then what they really would have been as the film makers would run the risk of letting those characters and there respective legacies down.

This film had a really small budget not only for it's film but also for it's main villains costume as the budget for the film was one hundred thousand American dollars. Where as the whole costume for Winnie The Pooh was seven hundred and seventy American dollars that is nothing and you can really tell that this film was shot on a really small budget as the whole film didn't take that long to film , it doesn't have a big cast or lots of locations and the film has really cheap looking villain costumes with Pooh's mask even being something that you can buy online for very cheap but to this films credit while the costume looks cheap the film does it's best to hide the costume for the most part and it's when you can't see the costume in it's entirety that it looks good but in a laughable way where as it's when you see the costume fully that it looks bad but Pooh got the better costume and mask when compared to that of Piglet as the Piglet mask doesn't look finished and his costume looks like a burlap sack only stretched over his entire body.

One of the things that really does let this film is the fact that they keep on flip flopping between having Christopher Robin be the main hero or just be a coward. As alot of the time that we see him he's fighting for Pooh to let some of the of the other victims live and yet when things don't go that way he runs away all this does is make him seem like a rather unlikable character as he doesn't do anything to project the other victims and yet he's meant to the main hero of the film yet if the film makers wanted him to be the main hero then they should have written him alot more better then what they do in this film as in this film they just flip flop between the two that all it does is leave us without someone to route for as the main girl really isn't all that likable of a character either and this results in us not really having a character to really route for and get behind when this really should the easiest film to have a likable character as the book and Disney version of Christopher Robin is a likable character and yet this film somehow made him a really unlikable character.

Unlike "The Mean One" which knew what it was but still didn't take full advantage of what it was this film plays everything straight. When just like "The Mean One" this is a film that really shouldn't have taken itself seriously as that would allow the film to be alot more goofier as the films premise and the very idea of the film itself really does allow itself to be a goofy film and yet by playing everything straight and not making any jokes all your doing is robbing us of what could have been a hugely entertaining film when it would have actually made the film alot more better then what it actually was if it was more goofier and didn't play everything so straight this is something that "The Mean One" did manage to do as it knew that it was a rip off of The Grinch and yet it still played around with the idea and concept and had fun with it here tho the film doesn't play around with it's idea when it really should have done as that would have made the film more enjoyable tom watch.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty four minuets and fifteen seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time that you'd expect a film like this one to have but even tho the film has more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time the film really doesn't end it's plot with the film just coming to an end when the third act really gets going when the film had more then enough running time to tell a complete story and yet for some strange reason chose not to which just leaves us with a film that really feels like that they really didn't have enough time and money to really film a complete ending and as a result of that the makers of this film just really went with what little ending that they had instead of giving us an actual proper ending but I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty the best part of this film. As that was when the film got to be creative and fun to watch as the idea of Winnie The Pooh and Piglet killing people and really creative will always be a really cool and creative idea and the fact that we have alot of creative kills that while they don't really take advantage of the fact that it's Winnie The Pooh and Piglet killing people and has a ton of CGI blood there still creative and fun kills to watch that make the movie fun to watch as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while the idea behind the film is a good idea that really does open itself up to a good , and goofy film the film itself takes itself so seriously that the idea just isn't allowed to be as fun and as good as it really should have been as on paper this film really should have been a good and a really goofy film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used used in this very review from the official Horror Film fandom wiki page , Tenor . Com , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this episode up on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.
