Planet Terror Film Review

There are certain directors that even when you hear there names you never really know just what it is that your going to be getting. With the same thing being true for this film director , writer , producer , editor and many more things as Robert Rodriguez usually gives us different things with each passing film that he makes be it his more child friendly films like Spy Kids and Sharkboy and Lavagirl to his more bonkers films like From Dusk Till Dawn well in 2007 he proved just how much of a film nerd that he is by releasing a film that is completely insane and also one half of a double feature with the other film being directed by Quentin Tarantino and so then join me as I review the film that really technically takes place in the world of Kill Bill with the film in question being called simply just "Planet Terror" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a zombie outbreak occurs in a small town in Texas a ragtag group of survivors have to try and find a way out of town before the zombies get them. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as this films plot is meant to be crazy and insane and that's exactly what it is as  this films plot is basically an eighties zombie movie but with crazy and insane action sequences thrown in as well as over the top gore and makeup effects with that kind of love and passion for old school cinema that Rodriguez has really shining through in the plot of this film and while yes this films plot could have been alot more better then what it was but given just what it's a love letter to and the fact that zombie movies don't typically gave deep and thought provoking plots to them in the first place this is a case where having a thinly drawn out plot only adds to the overall experience of watching a Grindhouse film as those films don't typically have the best plots in them either with this films plot being alot more fun to watch then it really had any right to be as by all rights this films plot should have been really bad and yet due to the fact that it's just so insane and just so crazy that you can't help but to buy into it despite it not really being the best plot out there with this films plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Rose McGowan as Cherry Darling , Freddy Rodriguez as "El Wray" and Josh Brolin as Dr. William Block. Also starring in this film is Marley Shelton as Dr. Dakota Block , Jeff Fahey as J.T. Hague , Michael Biehn as Sheriff Hague , Rebel Rodriguez as Tony Block , Naveen Andrews as Dr. John "Abby" Abbington , Julio Oscar Mechoso as Romy , Fergie as Tammy Visan , Nicky Katt as Joe , Hung Nguyen as Dr. Crane , Tom Savini as Deputy Tolo , Carlos Gallardo as Deputy Carlos , Skip Reissig as Skip , Electra Avellan as Crazy Babysitter Twin , Elise Avellan as Crazy Babysitter Twin , Quentin Tarantino as Lewis , Michael Parks as Earl McGraw and Bruce Willis as Lieutenant Muldoon.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances with it being clear as day that all of them knew what kind of film that they were making and so because of that they just had fun with making this film and that's something that really does shine through in all of this films performances and while it's also painfully clear that Bruce Willis never shot a frame of footage for this film with the other actors something that Rodriguez even admits to in this films DVD commentary it's not something that effects any of the actors performances as it does feel like that he was there filming scenes with them alot of the time in the scenes that is meant to feature his character and one of the other main characters and yet because of how good this films actors really are you don't get the feeling that the scenes were shot on different days with the best actor in this film being both Freddy Rodriguez as "El Wray" and Josh Brolin as Dr. William Block with both actors making their respective characters not only sound really awsome but doing a good job of either making them come across as being more insane then what they actually and also very much in control as they know just what it is that there doing with the acting that's in this film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at Troublemaker Digital Studios , The Orphanage and Matchframe Video. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this being something that's true for alot of aspects pf this film as well as this films effects where made to noy only look cheap but also rather cheaply as well as this film was also sharing it's budget with the other half of Grindhouse in Death Proof and because of that corners from both films did have to be cut which in this case does mean having some pretty cheap looking effects in the film but this is something that does add in to the fact that this is a grindhouse film as alot of those types of films did also have some pretty cheap looking effects in them as well with the films effects here mainly being used to remove one of Rose McGowan's legs which is a pretty decent looking effects and while yes granted this film does have some really cheap looking projection shots this is something that could also be chalked up to the fact that it was sharing it's budget and not due to the effects themselves being pretty altho that is also apart of the issues as well with the makers of this films also adding in CGI scratches to the film to make it look like that the film was more beat up then what it actually was with that one effect being the best one in the film as it's something that you don't really think was an effect but due to the fact that this film was shot digitally it was the only way that they could achieve that grindhouse look and it's something that did work well in the finished product as well.

Whilst this might be a bit of reach but it seems that not only this film but also Death Proof might also take place in the world of Kill Bill. As not only does this film feature the same brand of smokes that are used in those films but both Planet Terror and Death Proof also have Michael Parks as Earl McGraw with Death Proof even having James Parks as Ranger Edgar McGraw roles which they also played in Kill Bill and while Michael Parks also played Earl in other films as well it would be hard to justify the world of Kill Bill also being home to vampires where as here you could very easily say that Planet Terror takes place after the events of Kill Bill which wouldn't be that much of a stretch as wee know from this film that it takes place after the events of Death Proof but it is odd to think that these three films could all be connected and while it might be a stretch as it very well could be written off as those actors simply playing different versions of those characters it is fun to think that somewhere in the world of Planet Terror The Bride is out there beating up zombies and it does also make you wonder if it was always the plan for all of these films to be connected in someway as having the same brand of smokes could be seen as Rodriguez just tipping the hat to his Quentin Tarantino and Rodriguez has used the Earl Mcgraw character in other movies but for Tarantino to then not only use the same character but also bring back his son as well and feature a character from Planet Terror in this case Dr. Dakota Block that just seems like to much of a coincidence but if it is just that then it does also serve as being a fun little easter egg for fans of both directors as well.

This film is meant to be a comedy and yet it's in this aspect where the film fails as it's not really all that funny of a hell. With the makers of this film putting alot more focus on both it's action and it's horror then they did the comedy aspect of the film with the film not even getting that many actual jokes in it with the only two running jokes that the films ha being that everyone says that Cherry should be a stand up comedian even tho she thinks that she's not all that funny and the fact that Tolo isn't the brightest bulb out there and that's really it and while some of Cherry's jokes are so0 bad that you can't help but laugh at them like the fact that she has a snarky quip when Ray just straight up tells her that she's not funny which was a decent enough joke but it's not enough to build an entire running joke out of and the running joke with Tolo while it does work it doesn't work as well as it could have done as you have to know alot of the characters that Tom Savini plays in order for that joke to fully work as the film doesn't give him enough moments to prove that he's dumb due to the fact that the character doesn't appear in alot of the film with the best running joke in the whole film being the fact that there's a missing real in the film which was something that does work as it's in that real where they not only explain what Ray's backstory is but also give Tolo another chance to show us just why he's dumb among many other things and yet t's due to the fact that the film does gave that missing real that it not only plays up the whole grindhouse aspects of it alot more but the film oddly also still works as well which is somethin that makes that joke the best joke in the whole film.

With this film being a zombie film it would be easy to think that they don't really explain where the zombies in this film come from. However this is where this film would surprise you even more as they do exactly that by saying that the zombies or "sickos" as there called in this film come from something scientific that's released into the air which granted is the most basic thing that the makers of this film could have gone with to explain where there zombies come from but given that alot of zombie films and TV shows don't even do that with alot of them not even bothering to explain anything about them the fact that we got this basic origin story for them is something that does work and it's also something that works for this film as this film is meant to be a throwback to the zombie films of the eighties and in those films the zombies did nine times out of ten come from something scientific that was released into the air and with this film being an homage to those films even down to the film using really basic names for it's locations something which again is pointed out in the films directors commentary it does make sense for this film to have that really basic origin story for the zombie with the film even having some really good looking effects for the zombies done by KNB EFX Group which do look really good and while the film doesn't have alot of emphasis on horror as it's more focused on it's action when it does get to be scary it can be pretty effective with the film making great use of old school scare tactics like having a zombie run across the scene as some creepy music plays or like having a group of zombies come out of nowhere to attack someone all of which while yes they are corny they also work really well as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty five minuets and forty six seconds. Which might not seem like much but when you add in the fact that the film also includes a roughly two and half to three minuet long fake trailer for Machete that now makes the running time even more shorter then what it already was as while the film does have plenty of plot there to cover that running time it also doesn't use it's running time all that wisely either as the film can't develop it's plot as it just doesn't have the time to do so as it now has to rush at breakneck pace to get to the next plot beat which is something that might have been in other Grindhouse type films but they also didn't have fake trailers open there movie and so they could afford to spend a bit more extra time to develop there plots something that this film can't do as it now has to fit an extra trailer for what would become a real movie almost three years later and the film doesn't really develop all of it's characters all that well either as none of the characters get a moment outside of Cherry to showcase any kind of character growth or development but in this case it is something that could be chalked to those scenes being in the films "missing real" and not something that was ever meant to be shown on screen which if that is the case then it really makes Rodriguez out to be a really smart filmmaker who really knows his stuff but if not then it makes him to be a really lazy filmmaker either way there really should have been some character development shown to us on screen as that would have helped us to connect more with the films characters but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really cool. With this films action just straight up being the best part of the film as you can tell right away that the makers of this film where just having so much fun with coming with these over the top and yet still somehow entertaining action scenes and all of them not only work but they also help to get across the fact that anything can and does happen during these action sequences and because of that it does make them all the more fun to watch and while there is room for having more serious action scenes like the ones seen in Taken for example there's also nothing wrong with having action scenes that are filled to the brim with things that are just straight up cool to see as sometimes that's all you need to make your film fun and entertaining to watch and that's something that Robert Rodriguez understood while he was making this movie with the best action scene in the whole entire movie just due to how crazy and insane it is is when the group of heroes have to try and breakout of the Military Base and they do so by having Cherry use the gun that's been attached to her leg to blast herself over the wall to take out several dozen infected army soldiers whilst also using her skills as a dancer to dodge a rocket which is just so cool to see but then you add in the fact that the group also used a diversion by having several explosives go off around them to help to possibly destroy the base as well and the whole thing just comes across as being all the more over the top and fun to watch then it what it already is with the same thing also being true for all of this films action scenes as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not that hard to see why this film is not only the better of the two halves of Grindhouse but also why this films fake trailer would also be the first fake trailer to get it's own feature length film in "Machete" as while yes this film really does have alot of flaws to it it's also just a really fun film that doesn't take itself two seriously in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this verry review and a such that really odes mean that this film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Planet Terror fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Predator: Killer Of Killers Film Review

This year seems to be a good year to be a lover of the Predator franchise as going into the year we all knew that we'd be getting one live action film. However it would later turn out that we are infact getting two Predator films one animated and the other live action with the animated one to be released a few months before the released of the live action and well that very animated film has just now been released and well you all just knew that I had to check this film out the very chance that I got and so then join me as I review the film that is the very first animated film in the Predator franchise with the film in question being called simply just "Predator: Killer Of Killers" enjoy.

This film really doesn't have a plot to speak of as this is an anthology film with each of the films three stories telling their own unique story. This is something that does work well enough for this franchise as it shows us the audience that these creatures had been coming to earth and hunting us humans for far more longer then we ever realized that they had done but at the same time tho each of the films four stories are each telling a different version of the same story which is something that makes you wonder why the makers of this film thought it was a good idea to have this be an anthology film as while yes granted the very idea of doing an anthology film set in this universe is a good idea as there are alot of stories that you can tell with this character you still need to have a verity of stories in order to justify it being an anthology story which is something that this film just doesn't have with the one thing that helps to set up this film apart from other anthology films out there is the fact that this film does have kind of an ongoing plot featuring the survivors of their own stories which again is a good idea but it's something that would have worked alot more better if this was a four episode animated anthology show instead of a three part movie with this not being helped by the fact that all of the stories in this film do follow the exact same plot beats and have the exact same setup just in a different time and location with that being the main thing that let's down this film from a plot point of view as it makes all three stories feel repetitive whereas if you did this film as a four episode show then each of the stories would have the chance to show us the audience just what it is that makes them different and unique with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Lindsay LaVanchy as Ursa , Cherami Leigh as Young Ursa and Lauren Holt as Freya. Also starring in this film is Doug Cockle as Einar , Jeff Leach as Ivar , Damien Haas as Anders , Piotr Michael as Gunnar , Andrew Morgado as Chief Zoran , Louis Ozawa Changchien as Kenji and Kyoshi , Rick Gonzalez as Torres , Michael Biehn as Vandy , Felix Solis as Torres's father and Britton Watkins as The Warlord Predator.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances in their own right which was something that was both shocking yet at the exact same time not all that surprising ether as this films co-director and producer Dan Trachtenberg has had good acting in alot of his movies and here for it does make sense that this film would also follow suite but at the same time tho it's still very surprising as nearly all of this films actors are a bunch of unknown actors which is a smart thing that that it makes it alot more easier for us the audience to see the characters alot more then then just just hearing the actor which is something that very easily couldn't have worked if the film had more well known actors starring in this film and with alot of this films actors being either unknown or very little known actors it would have been quite foolish of anyone to expect good acting in this film and yet that's exactly what we got in this film with all of this films actors being alot better then what anyone would have thought that they would have been with it being made quite clear that the makers of this film were treating this film like they were making a live action film as the good acting that we get in this movie is the also the same kind of good acting that we'd get in a live action movie as well with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this film script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them more often which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the animation for this film is the legends and the greats that are currently over at The Third Floor, Inc.. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us n this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual animation that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as while yes the graphics do look like they belong in an indie video game cutscene then they do a movie the film does also have some really stunning visuals that help to compliment the films art style and while yes granted the films animation can be seen as being choppy at times that could be because of the fact that they are trying to emulate the style seen in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse without realizing just what it was that made that style perfect for that film in the first place it could also be argued that the films more choppy looking animation does suit this film as well as the film is telling four different stories with a different main character each time and therefor the animation is changing to suit the new story being told but what would have helped this films animation out by quite alot was if they changed the style of animation for each story instead of keeping the same 3D CGI style animation which is great for consistency but at the same time it does also give us a lack of verity with the kinds of animation that are in this very film as well.

In what was a rather shocking move was the fact that this move was made in secret with no one really knowing about this film until late 2024. Which even then we have no idea that it was going to be animated just that another Predator movie outside of Predator: Badlands was being released it was only until a few months ago that we not only saw that it was an animated film but was also an anthology film as well with it being great that the makers of this film were able to make this film un secret as these days it's hard to make any kind of movie without someone somewhere spilling the beans and yet with this film everyone involved wit making it managed to keep it a secret with this being even more shocking when you take into account that this films co-director and producer Dan Trachtenberg would have been bust developing and filming Predator: Badlands at the time that this movie was being made hence why he's co-directing this movie with Joshua Wassung so this way someone can give this movie there full attention from a directing point of view while he's off giving the next movie in this franchise his full attention with this movie proving that people do like to be surprised as this film wouldn't have caught fire the way that it did do if people already knew about it as then people would be expecting it but because nobody really knew anything about and even the films trailers didn't give away all that much about the film in the first place it all but guaranteed that people would have to watch the film in order to fully get just what the film was about which was a great marketing choice as it kept an air of mystery surrounding the film.

To give this film some credit it does show us some setting that we really hadn't seen before in a Predator movie. As things like the jungle and even a major city have been featured quite alot in this franchise and yet here we get see snowy mountain tops , World War 2 and Feudal Japan all of which are either settings and times that hadn't been shown before in the movies and while it was nice to see these locations in this film the film really doesn't take that much advantage of them as we the film doesn't do anything knew with them with the film instead just playing it safe with those locations and those settings which does hurt the film quite a bit as now the have the chance to show us something new and do something different but they don't which is odd as this films directors previous film Prey not only did something different by having a new and fresh location but it also fully fleshed it out as well something which due to the time constraints this film just can't do which again adds to the fact that this is a film that really should have been a four episode anthology series as then all of the locations and all of the characters can be fully fleshed out and while yes granted each episode would basically have the exact same plot as the other what would help to set it apart is how likable the characters are and how well thought out the locations of the film are and while the characters are indeed still likable as the ones that your meant to be like you do end up liking by the end of the film the films locations and times have nothing to them and instead just feel plain and boring because of it where as if the film took the time to make it's locations and time setting more fully developed it would have the add on effect of making the world of the film feel all the more lived in because of it.

Without going into two much spoilers as this is a film that really does deserve to be seen unspoiled there is an on going plot arc running inbetween the first three stories which does lead us to something that we really haven't seen before in one of these movies. With that one being something that was actually cool and different to see as it expanded upon the Predator race by adding to their lore and to their backstory as well which was something that granted alot of films had tried to do but nearly all of them had failed to do because of the fact that they didn't feel all that well thought out where as here it's the opposite that's true as everything in that fourth story is all about paying off things that were set up in the previous three stories with this being something that really does show you that even when he's not putting all of his energy into this film Dan Trachtenberg can still turn out something that is pretty creative with it being evident not only from Prey but from this film as well that this is director that knows what needs to be changed to make the Predator franchise not only relevant again but also good again as well as while Prey might have divided some people there's no denying the fact that the things that he brought to the table did help to improve upon certain aspects of these films and that's something that he's done again by basically doing an anthology film but by tipping it all of his head by having one underlying plot running throughout it and heck it could even be argued that giving each of three main characters there own short story before the fourth story is a good way to make sure that we really get to know alot of those characters and it's something that does work really well in the context of this film but weather or not or these characters will be in Predator: Badlands does of course remain to be seen.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty four minuets and forty seven seconds. Which t be fair to this film is pretty much the exact grand total running time that you'd expect a film like this one to have with the film even having more then enough plot there to cover that amount of running time the issues is tho is that this film doesn't fully use it's running time all that wisely as due to the nature of this film the film really can't develop any of it's first three stories all that well with all three of them just basically being a different variation of each other with the only thing new added to them is the year that they all take place in and that's really it which isn't enough to make all of them worth while as you can watch the first one and not watch the other two and you'll know exactly what went down in the fourth because of how similar that all three of those stories are with alot of that coming down to the fact that this film has to fit four short stories in such a short amount of time and therefor it does mean that the first three of them do come across as being very undercooked with the fourth one being slightly better with the other thing being the fact that this film really can't develop it's characters either as the film has to rush along to the next plot point where as if the film was an anthology series and not a film then the makers of this film could have taken the time that they really did need to in order to flesh out not only the plot of the first three stories but also the films characters as well but I really will admit that this film really does gave some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is an action film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well the  in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this film having some really good looking action in it as while the films animation doesn't really do this films action really any kind of favors it kind of doesn't need to either as this film does have alot of really cool looking action scenes in it regardless of it's quality of animation with it actually being really hard to say just what the best action scene s in this film not because all of the others are so good which they are but it's also because that all of this films action scenes could be seen as being a spoiler but without giving away two much there is a scene in the first story where one of the characters enters a small kingdom in Viking-era Scandinavia and goes on a rampage killing all of the guards in there using their shield in really unique and very gory ways which is something that was really cool to see as it gave us the chance to see some action that really hadn't seen before now with the only story in this film to top that one from an action point of view being in the final story where we get to see four characters all working together which does result in alot of blood and gore and while yes the Predator's do indeed get some cool things to do as well there not as cool as either of those two moments which is something that you don't really expect to see in a Predator film and yet in this film it's something that does help the films action standout as does all of the films really unique and at times really cool looking Predator designs in it as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if you hate or just straight up really can't handle films that have alot of over the top gore in them then don't watch this film but if that is something that you do like and can handle then this is the film as this film really is a surprisingly good film that will really more then get you in mood for Predator: Badlands in November in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that re in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , Tenor . the official Xenopedia fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being the official Xenopedia fandom wiki page simply because the official Xenopedia fandom wiki page actually has images from this film really are up and on the official Xenopedia fandom wiki page and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on the official Xenopedia fandom wiki page were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark Film Review

When people think of horror films they usually think of something scary and a film where lots of people die. However they really also seem to forget that horror much like any medium of film can and really does have alot of different genre's in it all of which help to make horror films stand out because you never really know what it is that your going to be getting with each one case in point the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today and so then join me as I review the film that saw a horror icon star in her very own movie with the film in question being called simply just "Elvira: Mistress Of The Dark" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when she finds out a long lost relative has died and she is to attend the reading of her will Elvira finds out that there's something more to the recipe book that she's been left and that others will do just about anything to get their hands on it. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being dumb but in a way that makes the plot of the film more fun to watch as this is a film that really doesn't require a deep thought provoking plot in order to make it work as the only thing that t needs to do that are the jokes and the characters and therefor having a deep plot will get in the way of the jokes and will halt the characters from being there likable or hate able selves but in saying that this films plot is also a tad bit on the thin side as well not to the point where it becomes hard to work out what the actual plot of the film is even meant to be in the first place but enough so that we the audience do start to notice it with the film also having a side plot with Elvira trying to fit in with the members of this very uptight town which was a fun addition to the film as it does lead to some really fun and funny scenes but at the same time tho it felt like that the side plot was taking over the main plot alot of the time where as the side plot should be exactly that on the side as something fun and not something that gets more screentime then the main plot of the film does with this films plot also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is one of this films co-writers Cassandra Peterson as Elvira and Great-Aunt Morgana Talbot. Also starring in this film is Binnie as Gonk , W. Morgan Sheppard as Great-Uncle Vincent Talbot , Daniel Greene as Bob Redding , Susan Kellermann as Patty , Edie McClurg as Chastity Pariah , Robert Benedetti as Mr. Calvin Cobb , Kurt Fuller as Mr. Glotter , Jeff Conaway as Travis , Frank Collison as Billy , William Duell as Lesley Meeker , Pat Crawford Brown as Mrs. Meeker , Ellen Dunning as Robin Meeker , Kris Kamm as Randy , Scott Morris as Sean , Ira Heiden as Bo , Tress MacNeille as The Anchorwoman and The Voice Of Great-Aunt Morgana Talbot , Phil Rubenstein as The TV Director and Frank Welker as The Voice Of Gonk.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of the actors that you expect to give us a really performance giving us exactly that which is something that could be also be seen as being bad things as well as good thing as it's the exact kind of performance that you'd expect from any of these actors and therefor when they act the exact way that you expect them to your not all that blown away or surprised by it and while all of this films actors do indeed try there best to make this films script work for them there's really only one actor that steels every single scene that she's in and that's none other then Cassandra Peterson herself who to put it simply is just a joy to watch in this film with her really perfecting the Elvira character and getting everything about that character down perfectly which is something that does make alot of sense as she had been playing the character for a number of years up until this point on TV and would go on play her for more decades and as such it really does make sense that she would be the best actor in this film with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fat that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them more naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Where this film does fair a little bit better is in it's characters as outside of Elvira herself the film does have alot of really fun and at times funny characters in it. Like for example Elvira's love interest Bob who is the typical good looking but at times dim-witted guy which does lead to some scenes with his character and Chastity Pariah who to put it simply is the town know it all and who has to spread gossip around the town and is easily offended by anything and everything Elvira does which is something that much like Bob does lead to some really good and funny scenes not only with her character but with all of the towns counsel members as well however the films best character outside of Elvira herself is quite easily Vincent Talbot who can be this really charming person who will make you want to do bad things for him but then at the drop of a hat turns out this evil warlock with him going from sweet and charming to dangerous and terrifying with none of it feeling out of place for his character as it's quite clear from his first scene that he's not quite on the straight and narrow the film not really deviating from that setup which again does lead to some fun scenes with his characters but at the same time tho it does make his character seem a little boring as there's nothing more to his character other then that but he gets the gold star treatment when compared to quite literally anyone else in the town as alot of them aren't given much in the way of personality and as a result of that is the fact that they do all start to merge into one with it being hard to tell who is who alot of the time with it being clear as day that the film only included them just to give Elvira someone to talk to and in the case of the teens someone who can actually be friends with Elvira.

With this film featuring a character who was made popular thanks to being the star of a TV show it would have been very easy for the makers of this film to do just do an episode of the show but as a movie much like what Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie did. However the makers of this film actually went the extra mile by giving us something that couldn't be dine in an episode of Movie Macabre and also by giving more backstory and lore to the Elvira character which was something that does work well in this film favor as it means that the people who liked the show now have an extra reason to watch this movie and have it not just be an extended episode of the show which is something that this movie very easily could have been but by the fact that the makers of this film went that extra mile by giving the Elvira character some backstory and lore it does show that there was alot of love for the character not only from those that watched her and still do watch her but also from those that were working on the film both behind the scenes and infront of the camera as well with that passion really burning through so much so that alot of people don't even know of the second and to date final live action Elvira film as alot of them just think of this film because of the fact that the makers of this film dared to do something that wasn't just an extended episode of the show and actually dared to open up the world that this character does take place in which also has the add of effect of making the world of the show alot more bigger and lived in as well with all of that being done just due to the fact that the makers of this film chose to give this film and original story and not have be nothing more then just a big budgeted version of the show itself.

While this film wasn't a hit at the box office a film like this one was never going to be as it's far to out there and for a far to niche audience for it to be a massive hit film. With this film being the kind of film that studios just wouldn't dram of making today due to the fact that only appeals to mainly to horror fans and even then you have to have grown up in a certain part of America to know just who the Elvira character is in the first place and top of that there's not much to this film that would make it a global hit film in the first place which s the very thing that studios today want the most as there all trying to milk whatever existing properties that they have dry and yet here's a film that features a character that not alot of people would have heard of not only just falling short of it's $7.5 million American dollar budget but also being a cult film all of which combine to oddly enough make this film one that just wouldn't be made today not due to the content of the film as even for an eighties film the film is oddly tame but rather it's because of the fact that this film wouldn't be a guaranteed hit film which is a shame as audiences today are just begging for the major studios to release a film that's nothing more then pure campy fun instead of milking there own properties dry and by being a film that's just not that fun to watch as believe it or not we the audience actually want to watch films that are just fun films to watch and that we can watch without having to switch our brains off as while yes having smart films to watch is good as well sometimes just all you need is a film that's nothing more then pure , campy , cult fun and that's exactly what this film is and the major studios should be looking to films like this as if you make films like this but make up well then  you get people not only back to the theaters more often but you'd also have another property on your hands as well.

It would be foolish to say that  this is a perfect film because the truth is that it isn't with the film having plenty of flaws to back it up. Like for example Vincent Talbot while he is a solid villain and passable for this film isn't that interesting of a character due to the fact that the film doesn't bother to tell us all that much about him other then that the fact that he's an evil warlock and on the town counsel and that's really it and heck we get to find out more about Chastity Pariah then we do Vincent Talbot and she's meant to be the films secondary villain and even then it could be argued that the films secondary villain is actually Patty as both characters are the villains in the films subplot but to equal degree and yet because of the fact that the film spends more time being focused on that plot then it is the main plot of the film the Vincent character cant be that well developed as either a villain nor as a character as we don't get to find out why he's evil in the first place as we only get to find out that he wants the book of magic spells because he believes it to be his and that's really it which isn't enough to get us to care about the character one way or the other as the very least with Patty or Chastity Pariah you do get the chance to actually form an opinion on them as characters be it due to the fact that you hate them or like them wither way you feel something for them where as due to the fact that the film hadn't taken the time to give us a reason to care for the Vincent character that's not the case with him so much so that when Elvira does defeat him at the end your not left with feeling joy your left feeling nothing as that's all that the film gave you to care about him nothing.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running tome of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and eighteen seconds. Which to be fair to this film is one the films many bright spots as this film does have the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time however this film doesn't really use that running time all that wisely as neither the plot of the film nor the films central romance are developed all that well as the plot of the film as was mentioned before can be seen as being a bit on the weak side of things with the makers of this film instead choosing to put alot more time and effort into the films subplot and not the actual plot of the films and the films romance isn't done well enough due to the fact that the film doesn't even try to develop the romance between Elvira and Bob to the point where it would become believable that these two characters would fall for each other with it seeming like that this film is trying to do to much with to little of a running time with the only way that you could foreseeably fix alot of the issues with this film is give the film a slightly longer running time as then the main plot of the film could get alot more focused and be more developed because of it with the same thing also true for alot of the side characters and the films romance as well even more so for the films romance as that's meant to be a key plot point in the film but because it isn't believable enough it just doesn't work as well as the makers of this film thought that it would do as the film does devote so little of it's running time as it has to balance out to other plotlines and get to the next plot point in both of them as soon as it possibly could do but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a comedy that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us un this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual comedy that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having alot of painfully moments in it with there being so many jokes in this film and nearly all pf them land and land well as well and in what can be seen as being a rare thing in comedies these days when the film does throw a pretty lame joke at you it doesn't really matter because of the fact that it's already thrown two or three more good ones at you and while yes the amount of s*x jokes might be enough to put people off watching this film which would be fair enough as alot of different people find different things to be funny with alot of the of the films best jokes being all of the quick one liners that Elvira throws out there as alot of them are just so quick that half the time you won't even notice them until after it's been said and while alot of this films s*x jokes might be seen as being to much for some they are also quite funny with alot of what makes those jokes being how the people around Elvira act when she does tell one of those jokes and seeing just how oblivious that she is to the fact that all of the teenage boys in town have a huge crush on her is also a pretty funny joke in it's own right as it plays into the fact that Elvira isn't the smartest tool in the shed and yet it still works as that's just who Elvira is as a character and while this films jokes can be seen as being to rude for some it's those jokes that do make up alot of some really good jokes in this very film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is a must watch for anyone that likes that horror comedies as while this film is lacking on the scare front it really doesn't need many scares as it more then makes up for it by having alot of jokes that have stood the test of the time as that's just how good that this film really is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that rally does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 20 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all o the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .

Hook 2025 Film Review

It's pretty clear right now that the trend of turning kids characters into horror villains is never going to die. However the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today is actually doing something different by having the main villain of a kids story also be the main villain of this film and so then join me as I review the film that has the same title as a Robin Williams film with the film in question being called simply just "Hook" enjoy.

The plot of this film is eighteen years after he first attacked her mother Wendy her daughter and her friends now find themselves at the of James Hook. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho this films plot wasn't all that good either a while the plot of the film is somewhat new and fresh you can tell right away that this film is going to be nothing more then a knockoff of Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare just due to the fact that both films do follow very similar plot beats with the main difference being that that film actually committed to the fact that it was horror version of Peter Pan and thus the plot of the film was alot more fun to watch where as with this film because of the fact that this film just plays every aspect of it's plot straight it can't be as fun as a film like this should be with the film being more focused on who Wendy's daughter's father actually is then it is in giving us a decently written plot with alot of this films plot just feeling rushed and undercooked which might be due to the seriously bad editing as the idea alone is a decent idea but plot just can't live up to that idea as alot of the films main plot is undercooked with the film just dropping the main plot of the film as and when it pleases with the plot of this film also not really being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Kelly Rian Sanson as Lily , Temi Adebajo as Carly and Charlotte Jackson Coleman as Wendy. Also starring in this film is Tim Cullingworth-Hudson as Officer Fabian , Alina Desmond as Pepper , Keith Eyles as Peter Pan , Nichaela Farrell as Syd , LJ Hamilton as Officer Spitz , Lucas Livesey as Officer Marco , Jenny Miller as Jamie , Sophie Rankin as Young Wendy , Jay Robertson as Young Hook , Theresa Shangazhike as Noah , Natasha Tosini as Salt and Stephen Staley as Hook.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just as bad as you'd think that it would be. As yeah this films acting is not only bad but it's laughably bad which is of no fault of the films actors as all of them are indeed trying there best to make this films script work for them but due to the bad direction that there getting they just can't do it with it being made clear as day that this films director Andrea M. Catinella has absolutely no idea how to get a good performance out of her actors as alot of this films actors have turned in some solid performances in other films and yet in this film it just feels like there talents are being wasted as the films director has no idea what she's doing which does lead to all of this films actors feeling unsure of what kind of performance to give with the only three passable actors in this film being Natasha Tosini , Kelly Rian Sanson and Stephen Staley and that's really it as the rest of this films just don't feel like that there actually trying to turn in a good performance whereas with those three actors you can at the very least tell that there trying to turn in a good performance with the acting that's in this very film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does hurt the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Character wise this film does fair somewhat better as while the films characters are the same kinds of characters that you do usually find in these films. The film does at the very least try to do something new with them just by having Lily be this character who is questioning why her parents lied to her over who her father is which does lead to a big issue as none of this films characters are all that interesting as while Peter Pan and Wendy being married is a good idea as is the idea of Wendy' being Hook's ex-girlfriend which is a unique idea the film does nothing with either idea thus making it feel like something that was added in at the last minuet with the same thing also being true for Lily's friends as none of them add anything to the plot of the with alot of them just being there just so Hook has more bodies to kill and that's really with and heck the film even goes out of it's way to make sure that the characters that you liked in the original Peter Pan book and Disney film are so unlikable and so unlike themselves that they might as well be different characters all together as while hiding the truth from Lily about her father being Hook does make sense for Wendy to do what doesn't make sense was for the character to be this heartless person as she tells her daughter to understand where she's coming from when she tells her that Peter a person who Lily believed to be father wasn't her biological father which just seems out of character even for this films version of Wendy and it's like for all of this films characters with it being made clear as day that the makers of this film thought that they could just make it a Peter Pan horror film with the title of a Robin Williams film and nobody would care when all they had to do was give us good and well written characters.

Look to be blunt this film feels like a knockoff of two films those being Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare and oddly enough I Know What You Did Last Summer. As while the film doe take the slightly more grounded approach to the story that Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare took with the only real difference being the fact that Hook is now the villain and it rips off I Know What You Did Last Summer by having Hook himself look like the killer form those movies only with out the hooded coat and the fact that Hook is burnt in this film which just doesn't make sense and it makes August Bound Productions seem more like The Asylum of the horror world as there ripping off two movies all the while passing it off as there own when surely coming up with an original take would not only be alot more creative but also help your film in the long run but given that this film was written by Harry Boxley who of course wrote Fairest Of Them All amongst other horror movies for the studio doing something new and creative was never going to be the case as there are so many ways that you could have done this film as you could have leaned into the fantasy aspect by having Hook be this figure from another world that for one reason or another finds himself compelled to kill people on this world which yes is a terrible idea but it's at the very least a new way to take these characters and do something new and interesting with them and while there are some good idea's in Harry Boxley's script as there all in alot of his scripts there just not allowed to breathe and given the time that they need to become great ideas that other horror writers could then use as he instead just mainly sticks to what worked in the past without realizing what it was that made those ideas good in the first place.

Much like they did with Fairest Of Them All August Bound Productions the production company behind both this film and Fairest Of Them All amongst many others decided to drop this film in it's entirety for free on CineNet's Youtube Channel. Which again begs the question of why they are doing that as that's not going to be making them any kind of money whatsoever regardless of who they sold the streaming rights to which granted might help cover alot of this films really small budget but it won't cause them to turn a profit as this is something that will kill them off granted it will be a slow and painful death but it will still be a death nonetheless where as if they released this film direct to DVD as that way the do still have a chance of not only making back there money but also making a small profit where as by releasing the movie on Youtube there not going to make a profit as nobody is going to pay to watch a movie on a streaming service when they can just go onto Youtube and watch the full thing for free and yet given that they have a solid partnership going with ITN Studios it would make more sense for them to release the movie onto a streaming service like BritBox for example as then ITN can say that it's a BritBox exclusive film but given that August Bound Productions doesn't even have an official website with the only being a website for there founder Rene August it's highly doubtful that there ready to make films that people will actually like and are instead more focused on churning these kinds of terrible films that they can unload this film for free onto Youtube which is something that will only do more harm to them as a production company then it will good.

There are two major things that are working overtime in working against this film the first is the dreadful at best and down right not there at worst sound effects and the second is the editing. With this films being editing being so bad as they cut off characters mid-scene for no reason which for alot of the dialog scenes is fair enough as then it could be seen as being a pacing issue but then they also do the exact same thing for quite literally all of this films kills baring in mind that this film is meant to be a slasher film and therefor we the audience expect to see the actual kills however the makers of this film instead thought that they knew better then that and so they either cut away from the kill just as the killing blow is about to be delivered or they straight up start the scene with the kill already in progress where they then also decide to cut the scene off just before the kill with this being such a painful thing to see as it makes the film not only look unprofessional but also unfinished almost like they couldn't spare an extra few minuets to finish off filming any of this films kills and so they just end the scene before the kill takes place and hoped that no one would notice without realizing of course that you come into a slasher film expecting to see the kills and as for the films sound effects they are just as bad if not worse then the ones that where in They Call Her Death as at the very least you could actually hear the sound effects in that movie where as with this film you don't even get that which just adds to the overall cheapness of this film as even the worst films out there still have sound effects that you can actually hear in them where as with this film it's the opposite that's true with these being one of the many things that are just flat out wrong with this film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twelve minuets and thirty seconds. Which even for one of these horror films is such amount of time but given that this film barely has enough plot there to cover that amount of running time maybe it's best that this film is barely over one hour and twelve minuets long as the film really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as the film isn't fully developed at all with the plot of the film being at best wafer thin due to the fact that the film spends just as much time on the Lily's father subplot then it does the main plot with the two plots inly really coming together in the films hastily done third act with the film not even taking the time to fully develop quite literally any of it's characters as while we do get to find why Hook is the main villain in this film with him being a an ex-boyfriend of Wendy who went psycho after she dumped him for Peter with him even killing of her brother Jon and friend Tiger Lilly we don't however get to find out quite literally anything about the rest of the main characters with one of them even spending alot of the films running time asleep in bed but you don't notice her not because the rest of the film is so good but because of the fact that the rest of the film is so bad that you just forget all about her with it being clear as day that the only way to truly fix any of this films problems is so go and do a page one re-write of the films script and to get a much more better editor and director as the ones that this films has clearly have no idea just what it is that there doing but I really will admit that this film really does have some really bad pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is  slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty bad. As due to the films dreadful editing which makes all of the bloodless kills in Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood look good as at least then you get to actually see alot of the kills even if they do appear with out blood alot of the time here you don't get that which makes you wonder why the makers of this film chose to make a slasher film if they were never ever going to show you any of the kills as that is the one thing that the people who watch slasher films come to see with it for once being hard to hard chose just what the best kill of the film even is as the film doesn't actually show us alot of the films kills and that ones that do get shown have really dreadful sound effects to them that make the kill look alot less impactful as the film doesn't even show Hook himself getting killed off at the end of the film with the film getting to Peter Pan just as Lily delivers the final blow which only adds to the overall lame factor of this film as the one thing that the people who love slasher films want to see in there slasher films is the main killer getting killed off and yet this film doesn't even bother to do that for quite literally no reason whatsoever which just makes this film so much more worse then what it already with it seeming like that the director of this film just hates slasher films as she takes every chance that she gets to show us anything other then the films kills when the films kills are something that could have been this films one and truly only saving grace is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the two Peter Pan based horror films that are out there right now this one is quite easily the worst one as there was actual effort put into Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare with that film even showing us the kills where as with this film there's no effort put into it whatsoever with it just being a cliche ridden mess of a film that will be forgotten about the horror community five minuets after they've watched it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very very review and a such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 0 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all o the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .

Sorority Babes In The Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama 2 Film Review

Horror sequels are a dime a dozen with dozens of them being made each and every year with the same thing even being true for this film. With...
