Terrifier 3 Film Review

When you usually think of Christmas films you usually think of something that's kid friendly and for the whole family. However that just simply isn't the case with this film as even tho it's set at Christmas and is very much a Christmas film it's not for the whole family at all with the film being one of the most gruesome alternative Christmas movies ever made and so then join me as I review the film that is a Christmas film with the film in question being called simply just "Terrifier 3" enjoy.

The plot of this film is sometime after the events of the second film Sienna Shaw finds herself in the middle of another attack from Art The Clown and now she has to also protect her young niece as well as herself. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot not only matching the quality of the previous film but also topping it just by doing one simple thing and that's by adding a kid character to the main cast of characters which is such a simple thing and yet by doing that it does add alot more tension to the film and it's plot as well and while yes granted this films plot isn't as well developed and thought out as it could have been it's also alot more better then what it really had any right to be as by all rights the third film in any long running horror franchise should be really bad as while yes there are a few exceptions to this rule there's not that many franchises where the third film is just as good from a plot point of view then the second or first one was and while this films plot could have been alot more developed as alot of the films plot does feel like it's just a series of interconnected sketches that are only just loosely tied together as that's how disconnected that alot of this films scenes do feel but in saying that it's in those scenes where the film does get to be alot more fun to watch because of the fact that it's not following the plot of this film as well done as it is with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Lauren LaVera as Sienna Shaw , Elliott Fullam as Jonathan Shaw and Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes. Also starring in this film is Margaret Anne Florence as Jess Shaw , Bryce Johnson as Greg Shaw , Antonella Rose as Gabbie Shaw , Pro Wrestling legends and Fozzy lead singer Chris Jericho as Adam Burke , Daniel Roebuck as Charles Johnson , Jason Patric as Michael Shaw , Krsy Fox as Jennifer , Alexa Blair Robertson as Mia , Mason Mecartea as Cole , Stephen Cofield Jr. as Officer Evans , Clint Howard as Smokey , Annie Lederman as Graven Image Co-Host , Bradley Stryker as Eddie , Jon Abrahams as Dennis , Tom Savini as A Bystander and David Howard Thornton as Art The Clown.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performance in this film with them all turning in better performances then what is really needed for a Christmas themed slasher film as those don't typically require good or even great acting to pull them off and yet that's exactly what we get from all of this film actors with there all being alot more better then what they really had any right to be with Lauren LaVera , Elliott Fullam , David Howard Thornton and Samantha Scaffidi clearly having a blast in playing there characters with there performances for obvious reasons being alot more better then the performances of the new actors which is something that does make alot of sense as there all reprising their roles from the other films and so of course they really would turn in a better performance in this film as they would know there characters really well and what kind of performance really would best suit there respective characters in any given scene as well with the films best actor oddly enough being a tie between David Howard Thornton and Lauren LaVera as their both so good in this film with Lauren LaVera doing a really good of portraying the PTSD aspect of her character really well and David Howard Thornton really being as wonderfully over the top as Art The Clown as well with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so god that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

For some odd reason even tho the previous film gave Art The Clown the just as over top sidekick in The Little Pale Girl in the previous film here she instead replaced by Victoria Heyes whom is now meant to be possessed by The Little Pale Girl. Which makes no sense as you very easily could have had both characters in this movie and both play the exact same role as The Little Pale Girl is basically the Harley Quinn to Art's Joker in that she's literally a female version of him even down to having the exact same dark sense of humor about her that made her a joy watch where as with Victoria she's just insane with there not really being anything about her character in this film that's all that interesting and so she could have been helping the two of them out and not being taken over by a character who's not even in the film in the first place and while there might have been a behind the scenes reason for this in which case fair enough but it's still a little bit off that the film would get rid of a character from the second movie only to replace her with the exact same character with them even having both characters dress pretty similarly in the films third act which again makes you wonder why the makers of this film chose not to reuse The Little Pale Girl as she was still alive at the end of the second movie and the opening of this film does take place directly after the second movie so the character would still be alive and well and yet because of the fact that the makers of this film wanted to give Samantha Scaffidi a much more bigger role in the franchise it now means that a fun character that could have had her own spin-off films now gets replaced for little to no reason whatsoever and while it does sound like i'm mad at this choice i'm honestly not i'm just more confused by it as the film doesn't really explain why Victoria is being possessed by The Little Pale Girl all that well.

Much like Die Hard and even The Nightmare Before Christmas this film does make for a great Christmas film. Albeit one that kids REALLY shouldn't be watching as while it does have all of the things that you'd expect to see in alternative Christmas films it also has a lot of blood and gore and possibly even bones being shown as as well and while much like Die Hard this film does have alot of swearing this film is one that hasn't become a Christmas classic yet but due to how good that this film is and how much that it embraces the holiday's tone and spirit as well it is one that very easily could become a Christmas classic as it does have alot of things going and heck even the films opening ten minuets which are not only the most brutal opening ten minuets of any recent horror film to date but there also where the film does show off the fact that it's a Christmas movie as we get to see everything that you'd expect to see in the holiday as well and while there will no doubt be people who will openly say that this film isn't a Christmas movie due to all of the above things and then some this film is more of a Christmas movie then alot of others are as while yes it doesn't show the spirit of the holiday like The Muppet Christmas Carol does for example it is a film that's not really afraid to be a campy Christmas movie with the film even having a few memorable scenes with Art and a few fake Father Christmas's as well which are things that you don't get to see in alot of the classic Christmas movies with this film putting it's own horror spin on the holiday with that spin being one of the things that people will use to say that this isn't a Christmas movie but much like Die Hard not only is this film a Christmas movie it's perhaps one of the more crazier Christmas films out there.

To give this film some credit it does do a good job of showing us how the people who survive these kinds of events would move on or fail to move on with their lives. As while Jonathon has very firmly put the second film behind him and is actually doing quite well for himself it's Sienna who's struggling alot of the time with her suffering from PTSD due to the events of the previous film which was a really good thing to include as something that very few horror sequels dare to include even A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors didn't include that aspect when they brought back Nancy Thompson and yet in this film they do it really well by showing her almost loosing her grip on reality by seeing Art everywhere that she goes and seeing visions of the people that died in the second film with them even blaming her for their deaths and while the film does make great use of this it could have gone further with it by showing Jess and Greg struggling to believe Sienna alot more then what they do in the final film as while they don't believe her when she says that she saw Art at The Mall before he effectively blows it up they do very quickly come round to believing her again when it would have worked even better if they outright didn't believe her until the very last second as to them she is someone who is struggling with this mental illness and so seeing the one person in the world that she really doesn't want to see any more could be the cause of a psychotic episode which given all that she's been through in the previous film would have made alot of sense for her character and while the film does show how PTSD can and does effects loved ones of people suffering with it as well as those that do suffer from it as well it does kind of feel like that the makers of this film are holding back and not going as full on with it as they perhaps could have done.

One of the few things that this film added that actually worked out really well was the fact that they added a kid character to the main cast of characters as now there's more sense of urgency then what there already is as Sienna knows full well that Art is more then willing to kill kids if he wants to and therefor seeing him with Gabby will right away make us the audience wonder if he's really going to kill her as well. With the other thing added to the film this time that does work sort of well but not really was the whole supernatural aspect to the film as this si something that did feel like that it came out of left field and was used more of a way to set up the fourth film rather then had it add something to the plot of the film as the only thig that the supernatural aspect of the film adds to this film is that it does give this film a really solid cliffhanger ending which does set up the upcoming fourth film quite well but that's it as you could remove that aspect from the film and you'd loose nothing that's important to the plot of this film and while yes the previous film did also have a small supernatural element to it as well there it was done to further the plot of that film where as here it doesn't do any of that with the film working as just as well without it but in saying that tho the supernatural cliffhanger ending does work really well and does go to show you that you don't need a $200 million American dollar budget to have top notch special effects as you can make something that's just as good if not better for alot less then that if you take the time to actually make the characters likable something which the makers of this film do do and because of that the supernatural element does somewhat work in this film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and four minuets and fifty six seconds. With this film really needing every single frame of it's running time in order to do it's story justice as if you cut any frame of this film then you loose alot of what it is that makes this films plot work so well with this film having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running with even this film using it's plot really wisely as well as the film does develop it's plot as well as it could have done and while the film would have worked just as well with a more developed plot here because of the fact that the film has that Christmas setting to work with it doesn't really need to develop it's plot all that well as this film is pretty much riffing on Christmas films and those don't typically have that well developed plots with this film even having some really developed characters as while the film didn't need to develop it's returning characters as they had all of the previous film to all of that the film still gives them some character development just by showing that Sienna has a close bond with Gabby something which does come into play during the films third act and while Jonathon does get a little bit left out on that part as the character only appear in a small handful scenes before getting killed off screen it's not really a big issue with this film as he wasn't that memorable of a character in the previous film either and so the fact that he wasn't given any character development in this film doesn't really do any kind damage to this film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty the best part of this film. With this films kills being so over the top that not one picture from any of this films kills that can included in this review as there all really gory and have tons of blood in them with it being super clear as day that the makers of this film had a blast with coming up with this films kills as that where we get to see Art be his oddly goofy and over the top self with it being quite hard to tell just what the best kill of this film is as really any one of this films kills could quite rightfully make that claim with the only kill that could be considered the worst kill of the film being the death of Jonathon just due to the fact that he was killed off screen in a slasher but if I were pushed i'd say that the best kill in the whole entire was the opening ten minuet prolog as while yes the films third act was insane and was really good in it's own right there's only one confirmed death in that scene and that's Victoria where as in the prolog the film does show how brave it is by having a kid killed off which yes granted is technically off screen but the very fact that they dared to do something like that in the first place is a brave move to make with the rest of the films opening prolog being just as brutal as you'd want it to be with it serving as a great way to reintroduce the character of Art The Clown and get excited for the madness that's to come with the rest of the films kills being just as a good as the kills were in that opening prolog scene in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not that hard to see why this film is as beloved as it is by the Terrifier fans as it really just that good of a film and with the fourth film confirmed to not only being made but also confirmed to tell the origin story of Art The Clown it's safe to say that these films aren't going anywhere anytime soon in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got al of the mages that I personally used in this very review from the official Terrifier fandom wiki page , the official Die Hard fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Weapons Film Review

Whilst last year was a really great year for horror films this year has been the complete and total opposite thus far with alot of the horror films that had been released by a big studio being nothing more then OK at best. Well that all changes today as a new horror film from a major studio has been released and it dares to break the mold by being better then OK and so then join me as I review that many are rightfully calling the best horror film of the year with the film in question being called simply just "Weapons" enjoy.

The plot of this film is sometime after seventeen kids all mysteriously disappear the teacher who's room they were all in sets out to find these kids and to clear her name in the process. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this films plot being just so good as it was actually something new , different and original which means that we the audience have no idea just where this films plot is even going because it's something that we really havn't seen done before now with the plot of this film being one that is perhaps the best plot for a newly released film this year regardless of it's a horror film or not because it is something that does keep you invested all throughout with it's slow burn approach which yes granted could be seen as being grating for some but here it does serf a purpose as it adds to the plot of the film by making us wonder just what is going to happen next and because of that we as an audience do get more of a chance to become invested in the films plot as simple as it is but in saying that tho the plot of this film could also be viewed as being unfocused as for alot of the time we don't really get to find out all that much about the kidnappings but at the same time tho it could be argued that that makes this films plot all the more scarier as now we have to use our imagination which could make thing all the more scarier then what they actually are with the plot of this film also being really entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Josh Brolin as Archer Graff , Julia Garner as Justine Gandy and Alden Ehrenreich as Paul Morgan. Also starring in this film is Austin Abrams as James , Cary Christopher as Alex Lilly , Benedict Wong as Marcus Miller , Toby Huss as Ed Locke , Sara Paxton as Erica Bailey , Justin Long as Gary Bailey , June Diane Raphael as Donna Morgan , Whitmer Thomas as Mr. Lilly , Callie Schuttera as Mrs. Lilly , Clayton Farris as Terry Miller , Luke Speakman as Matthew Graff , Scarlett Sher as The Narrator and Amy Madigan as Gladys Lilly.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just so good. Which is something that really does make alot of sense as alot of this films actors are a bunch of really good actors in their own right something that's been proven time and time again in other films and TV shows and now it's been prove yet again in this film as all of this films actors really do bring there A game to this film with all of them turning in some really good performance and while yes some of this films actors are better then others that doesn't mean that those actors are bad it just means that there not as good as the ones that out acted them in the film with it being clear as day that films writer , producer , one third of the films composers and director Zach Cregger really does know how to direct his actors and get a really good performance out of all of them and while it would be really easy to say that this films best actor is Josh Brolin the fact of the matter is that this films best actor is quite easily Cary Christopher as Alex Lilly as this kid has to get across so much emotion more often then not without saying a single word and yet he does it so well so much so that if he so chose he could very easily make it big as an actor as he's just that good in this film with him more often then not turning in a better performance then both Josh Brolin and Julia Garner as he's just that good in this film with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Without giving away anything that happens in this film this film does tell it's plot in a rather unique way. With it going the same route that The Hateful Eight went when it came to telling it's story by basically telling it in chapters only here the chapters aren't numbered as there instead named after the various characters that the chapter focuses one with each of the films main characters getting one chapter each and much like a book each chapter ends on a cliffhanger which is something that would work better if some of the characters had more then one chapter but as it is whilst it does still fairly work it does mean that we're going for quite awhile without finding out what happend to the character in the previous chapter but to this films credit taking this approach does add to the films slow burn approach as it does mean that we the audience do get to spend alot more time with the characters with us even seeing scenes from earlier on in the film this time seen from a different point of view which yes is an idea that's been done to death but it is still one that does work really well and while nothing new is shown to us in those scenes it is something that does go to show you that this mystery is one that effects the whole town that this film takes place in and not just one or two characters as it very easily could have done but in saying that tho if the idea was to always give one character one chapter then why include a cliffhanger ending as all that does is make you want to watch more with that character and yet by not having that and just letting the story play out on it's own in the chapter format we still would have gone a really good film in it's own right.

While this film does have a great use of tension what it doesn't really have are that many memorable characters. With the film instead opting to have more characters then it knows what to do with and while all of the characters that it does introduce do a play a part in the plot of the film be it in a big way or small way it's the fact that the film has so many main characters in the first place that is the issue as after a while all of the films characters do start to blend into one and while some of the characters are done better then others a prime example of this is Justine who is a well done character and is done better then her boss Marcus who disappears for so long in the film that when he does reappear it leaves you wondering just who he is exactly as with the Justine character you do get a strong sense of who she is a character and how much this job of being an elementary school teacher means to her as she really does care for the kids perhaps a little to much but that is something that she does get called out on and it's something that we have to see her over come in the film whereas with Archer we don't really get to find out all that much about him other then he thinks the world of his son and that he owns a construction company and that's really it and so we when he does lash out at people during this film we have no idea if that's out of character for him or not as the film doesn't really show us what he was like when his son Matthew was still around but in saying that tho he does make or a good co-lead character with Justine with the two of them making for a great duo in the process even tho earlier on in the film he hated her guts.

What is really shocking is that right now this small little known horror film is actually beating a Disney film at the box office. As this film is currently beating Freakier Friday by about five to seventeen million American dollars right now this is despite the fact that Freakier Friday has the more well known actors in it and is a sequel to a film that people kind of remember where as this film is a completely original film with only one maybe two well known actors in it this sis something that does go to show you that people do crave good films and won't go to see something just because it's a sequel , remake or reboot and while it does help that this film is genuinely one of the best films of the year not just one of the best horror films of the year but one of the best films of the year period with it being proven that people want to see good original films and whilst films like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Superman are indeed good films there also not original films as there based of something that was created decades ago and therefor already have a built in fanbase for them where as with this film it had to focus on being a good film and give us some decent characters and decent scares and while the quality of the films characters will very from person to person it can't be argued that this film is a really good film and while it might not have legs to be a franchise it doesn't need to be one and hopefully this film will go along way into convincing major studios that if you give new and original films a good push in marketing especially if there really good films in their own right then you'll get back your investment at the box office as even tho this film has only been out for a few days now it's already almost made back it's $38 million American dollar budget with so far raking in $29.7 million American dollars in total at the box office.

There is one major issue with the film and that's the fact that despite the fact that this film is billed as being a mystery film the film doesn't offer us any clues as to what really happened with the kids. Granted this might seem like a small issue in the the grand scheme of things but if your billing yourself as being a mystery film then the actual mystery aspect of the film has to be well done and that does include giving us clues to what's actually going on here but the film doesn't do that and as such when we do get to the films third act and all is revealed then it not only comes out of nowhere but it also feels out of place as nothing in the film had suggested that that was even going to be a possibility in the first place with it being clear as day that the makers of this film where more focused on giving us some really great tension building and a great third act that they dropped the ball when it comes to giving us a legitimately good mystery with this being something that really should have been given the same amount of care and attention as the rest of the film quite clearly got as Scream 1996 proved that if you give the audience a good mystery with plenty of hidden clues to find then they will come back to your film just to find them all but this film doesn't do any of that and therefor there's really no real reason to go back and watch this film again and again as your not going to get anything new from it and your not going to find any hidden clues as to what's really going on with the kidnapped kids with this being something that the makers of this film really should have done as in the end repat viewings means more money for you and if people are willing to go back and rewatch your film then you know that you've created something that's truly special with this film being let down by just how bad that it's mystery aspect really is.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and two minuets and twenty one seconds. Which might seem like a huge red flag for a horror film to be this long but in fairness to this film it really does need to be that long as to cut this film down even by as a little as five or ten minuets would be a huge disservice to both the film and the films plot with this film even having more then enough there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho whilst the film does make great use of it's plot in some resects like in developing it's plot as well as it could have done it doesn't use its running time all that wisely in other respects tho as the film does jump around from character to character for no reason which does make it hard to buy into certain characters and while this doesn't really hurt the film it is something that can put people off watching this film with the film not really explaining all that much about certain aspects of it's plot with this slightly effecting it's characters as there are some characters that don't get alot of development like for example the character of James who is quite literally just Jay from the Jay & Silent Bon movies and that's really it with the character of Paul not even getting any kind of character development to speak of whatever and while those two characters aren't really effected as there not really main characters in the film the one main character that does get affected is the character of Archer who isn't really explored as a character and therefor can't get any kind of character development whatsoever but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this isa horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With it being this films kills that really do make the film even more creepy and scary then what it already is as even this film does make some solid use of jump scares those aren't the only kind of scares that are in this film as the film does also have alot of creepy kids which are always going to be effective when there done well like they are in this film however those aren't the best scare in this film as the films best kill is quite easily in the films third act and because of how much of a spoiler that it is I can't say anything that happens that happens in that part of the film as it's something that does need to be seen without knowing anything that happens in that third act but with out spoiling anything about what happens in that third act I can say that something does awsome and satisfactory does happen to the character of Gladys with it being inn that third act where the film does a really impressive one long take which is something that does work really well in the context of this film as it helps to make that third act feel all the more better and impressive then what it already with the films editing even helping out in the respect as well and while the film does have plenty of good creepy moments in it as well nothin will top just how well done that the films third act really is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's so great to see an original film not only doing well at the box office but also be a really good film  as while yes Sinners was also both of those things hopefully now with two original films doing well at the box office and with this film being as good as it is it might hopefully convince Hollywood to make more original films with this film more then earning all of the praise that it's been getting as it's just that good of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Dracula: A Love Tale Film Review

When people talk about horror icons they usually talk about either Freddy Krueger or Michael Myers to name but a few. However there is true titan of terror that really does stand above them all that being Dracula and well there's new a film out featuring this truly really iconic character and I thought that i'd give it a shot and talk to you all about it and so then join me as I review the film that is basically a better version of Dracula Untold with the film in question being called simply just "Dracula: A Love Tale" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when a string of women start turning up with bite marks on their necks a Priest and a few others discover something far more deadly is going on and must race against time to stop it before it's far to late. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as while yes this films plot is the typical Dracula plot here it's done with so much style and flair that it does make the plot of the film seem oddly more gloomy and dark then what it already is with the plot of this film doing a good job of keeping what could be seen as being a very tired and worn out story seem fresh and new again and while last years Nosferatu remake did this kind plot alot more better as that films take on the story added alot of atmosphere to it which added to the overall creepiness of the film here this films take on the story makes it more gothic and something that a rebellious teen would like which is oddly fitting as the Universal Pictures take on the Dracula story was applauded for being a gothic story and therefor it does feel like that this film is taking more from that film interms of how it's telling plot but at the same time tho this films plot does feel a bit on the weak side of things which has the adverse effect of making the titular Dracula feel more like an afterthought in his own film with the ploy of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Caleb Landry Jones as Vlad / Dracula , Christoph Waltz as The Priest and Matilda De Angelis as Maria. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As this film does have some pretty decent actors in it and therefor it does make alot of sense that the acting in this film would be pretty good with this being something that's even more shocking when you take into account the fact that alot of this films actors are really some very little known actors and therefor it would have been foolish to expect good or even great acting from them which is something that we get in this film and while the acting in this film could have been better in some respects Zoë Bleu makes for a passable at best Mina with her playing a more better version of her ancestor Elisabeta with this films best actor oddly enough not being Christoph Waltz as it very easily could have been but rather it's Caleb Landry Jones who oddly makes for a great Vlad and an even better Dracula because as Vlad you see the joy that the actor is having playing that ide of the character and yet the moment that he becomes Dracula whilst he still does maintain the charm of Vlad he adds an ice cold stare to the character that lets you know that something isn't right with this person the second that we see him on screen with the acting that's in this very film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is the really true legends and the really greats that really are currently over at MPC. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as the film mainly uses CGI for basic background replacement and the odd creature and to enhance things that were already there on the day of filming and that's really it with that being the very reason to use CGI as it then blends in with the live action elements alot more easier and nine times out of ten goes unnoticed by alot of people and while there is a case for using CGI to create things that you couldn't possibly do in the real world like for example dinosaurs or aliens sadly alot of film studios use it to make things that could be created in the real world and when those films have bad effects in them they really do stand out due to how bad that they are where as here because of the fact that the film uses very minimal CGI effects there really isn't a bad looking effect in the whole film as alot of this films CGI is just enhancing what was already there on the day of filming and will therefor look ten times better then anything that your making from scratch as those effects when there done wrong look horrible and when there done right they will still age due to how fast the world of CGI evolves and changes where as this films effects will look timeless as the film mostly uses practical effects and only uses the smallest amount of CGI when it really needs to.

Much like with Dracula Untold this film puts alot of focus on the love life of Count Dracula which is oddly something that does work. As it's an aspect of the character that really hasn't been explored all that much in a live action film setting and while it could be argued on if the romance aspect of the film was done well or not as it is something that does forgotten about for large portions of the films running time what can't be argued is the impact that it has on the film as it goes a long way into making this films take on Dracula come across as being more of tragic figure and because of that it does also make us the audience want to care for him as we want to see him reunite with his one true love and get his happy ever after but because of the fact that he's an evil person that does mean that it does rightfully create mixed feelings for us the audience as while we do want to see him get his happy ever after due to all of the evil things that he's done and does in this film we also want to see him meet his end as well thus meaning that Dracula would never be able to reunite with the one that he truly loved and who truly loved him and while other Dracula based films have tackled the idea of him in being love much better again look at the remake of Nosferatu as a good example here because of it's more gothic look and approach to the story it does come across as being more tragic for the Dracula character as while other films take a more stylistic approach to this part of the character here the makers of the film actively go out of their way to make sure that we care for the character as they knew that we had to buy into the romance for the film to work and while the romance itself could have been done alot more better then what it already was you can tell that there was at the very least some amount of effort put into giving the film a decent romance.

While there are plenty of good things to be found in this film there are plenty of bad thinfs to be found in it as well like the fact that the film is a bit of mess as it has at least three plots going on all at once with there being the main plot with the priest then there's the plot with Mina falling in love with Dracula and then there's the plot with Jonathon interviewing Dracula. With that last plot being dropped for a large portion of the films running time so when it does get back to it we the audience have all but forgotten all about it and the other two plots have long gaps inbetween them so much so that again we the audience do forget what's last happened in them and where the characters are in those plots with this having the add of effect of making Dracula himself feel alot more like a side character in his movie as he's not the one that's driving the main plot of the film forward and infact he barely interacts with anyone in that plot until the films third act with it coming across that The Priest is meant to be the main character of the film which if that is the case then the very title of the film is a lie as it makes it look like that Dracula is the main character when the plot of the film would straight up suggest otherwise and fair enough Christoph Waltz is a very big named star and so of course you want to feature him more in the movie as that then justifies him being on the films poster but that shouldn't come at the expense of Dracula as he's the character that people will be flocking to this film to see and not some character that they haven't heard of before now and therefor it would have made more sense for Dracula to be the one that's being more proactive in all of the plots that he's in and not just the plot with Jonathon as that just makes him look like a side character in his own movie.

For whatever reason the makers of this film seem to think that the main plot with The Priest is a rally interesting plot as they keep on cutting back to every single chance that they get. When it really isn't as nothing all that interesting happens in that plot which makes you wonder why the makers of this film chose to focus alot of the films screen time on it when they could have had the main focus o the film be the romance subplot with Dracula and Mina as that's the more interesting plot as it gives us a chance to see the title character get alot of love and attention due to the fact that in the films main plot he's barely a factor in it and with the films romance subplot even tho it does cover alot of the same ground that Dracula Untold covered in that we see quite alot of the same scenes in both films only here it's done to actually make you care for the character and not done in an rather undercooked way with the only thing that lets the romance subplot down is the fact that none of the main actors have any chemistry which is something that they really have done as that would help to sell us the audience on the romance but because of the fact that neither of them have any kind of chemistry with each other which does make them come across as people who have just met each other the day before they started filming this film when if the makers of this film cast actors that had chemistry with each other it would have made the main romance alot more believable then what it actually is but to be fair to this film the romance is alot more better then the entire plot with The Priest as nothing that's interesting happens in that plot it all happens in the romance subplot of the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and three minuets and seventeen seconds. Which to be fair to this film is a perfectly solid running time for this film with the film even having more then plot there to really cover that amount of running time however tho this film really doesn't use it's running tome all that wisely as while it's plot is a good plot it's still one that's not that well developed as the film does drop all three of plots for quite along period of time all for for no reason when that screen time could have been used to develop any of it's plots as they all do need developing to make them not only creepy but actually decent since as things stand all three of this films plots feel unfocused with the film struggling to find one main plot to focus on with this being something that results in a film that is unfocused at best and while this is something that doesn't really effect it's characters as all of it's characters do come across as being well developed with the best examples of this being both Dracula and Mina herself as both characters fall of to the dark side at different points in their lives where as Dracula had no one to pull him out and stop him from making the mistake that made him immortal Mina does in the form of her one true love Jonathon with Dracula having to come to terms with the fact that he will never see the woman that he loved ever again as to him she has now moved on to someone else and while the romance could have been alot more better there's no denying the fact that the characters are really well done but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As this film whilst it does lack many actual scares what it does have going for it in the horror department is it's atmosphere as the film makes great use of it's gothic atmosphere all of which do combine into making the film come across alot more creepier then what it actually is and with the film even having some pretty impressive looking gore effects something which does add to the atmosphere of the film as having the blood red of the blood go against the snowy backdrop of the films third act does make the film not only all the more impressive but also more stunningly beautiful then what it already is the first place and while there are no scares in this film the closest we get to a blood bath in this film does happen during the films third act with that scene in all honesty being the best scene in the whole entire film as that's where we get to see Dracula be his true self and because of that we get to see some really good scenes with the thing that made them better is all of the build up that the film does as the makers of this film know when to build up tension and when to let scenes just play out normally and while we the audience don't get a chance to feel tense as the scenes that do build u tension aren't that good in the first place and do come across as being very generic you can tell that there was a genuine effort to create some genuine scares in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while right now this film is only out in France with no American release date set in stone yet this is a film that could do very well at the American box office due to it's more gothic take on the material but at the same time tho this film still isn't that good of a film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that re in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .

Bambi: The Reckoning Film Review

When you think of Cinematic Universes you usually think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and rightfully so as that has been going on for almost twenty years now. However for lovers of horror there is another cinematic universe that is oddly doing quit well for itself with that being The Twisted Childhood Universe as those universe of films started as nothing more then a quick and easy way to make some money with Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey and yet it is still going strong with alot of the films in this universe very slowly but very surely getting better with each passing installment and well they've just released the latest entry into this universe and so then join me as I review the film that features the very first use of CGI in this universe with the film in question being called simply just "Bambi: The Reckoning" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a mother and son have to find a way to survive the forest when they find themselves being hunted down by a deer that's out for revenge for the death of it's own mother. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that' actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us inn this very film was in all honest at best lackluster. Which is something that's to be expected from these types of films but even so there plots are usually pretty decent best and yet here with this film the plot of the film was so weak that it was hard to tell just what the plot of the film was even meant to be at times as the film does make it appear as if it doesn't have one and yet when the film does focus on it's plot it's oddly enough not as fun as a plot like this could have been as by all rights this should have been a really fun plot for a movie that's so bad that it's good and yet for one reason or another it just wasn't as good as it could have been with it feeling like that it was trying to hard to to incorporate the more traditional Bambi elements but without adding anything new to them to make them interesting again and heck it could even be argued that the films subplot is more interesting then this as the Grandma called Mary does technically have a subplot which even then isn't that interesting and could be seen as being quite tasteless for anyone who knows someone that ha the illness that she has and that's really it with the plot of this film not even being really rather entertaining and as well as not even being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Game Of Thrones star Roxanne McKee as Xana , Tom Mulheron as Benji and Nicola Wright as Mary. Also starring in this film is Samira Mighty as Harriet , Alex Cooke as Simon , Russell Geoffrey Banks as Andrew , Joseph Greenwood as Harrison , Catherine Adams as Jo , Ewan Borthwick as Eddie , David Ambler as Rob , Luke Cavendish as Joshua , Adrian Relph as Michael and Big Tobz as Tyler.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As let's be real here nobody expects good or even passable acting from these types of films and while the acting is passable for the most part there are a few instances where the acting takes a nose dive interms of quality like for instance the acting from the actor that's playing the taxi driver is horrendously bad that it borderlines on being laughably bad and the acting from Alex Cooke who is trying to turn in a good performance but just feels like he's holding himself back from going on all out which is the kind of performance that a film like this one really does deserve with the best actor in this whole entire film being Roxanne McKee who seems to be the only one who is actually capable of turning in a good performance as while it's understandable that actor Tom Mulheron won't turn in a good performance as he's just a kid afterall none of this films other actors have that excuse outside of the fact that alot of them have barely acted in anything with even actors like Alex Cooke feeling more miscast then being a straight up bad actor with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does hurt the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film

For once I actually can't say who did the CGI for this film as there no effects company listed anywhere either on the films IMDB page or online. Now hen interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that he actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as even tho The Twisted Childhood Universe of films have never really used CGI before they do make the best of use of it here with them keeping the character of Bambi mostly in the shadows which does mask any of the imperfections that there might be with the effect on the character and really this is a character that could only be done in CGI as there would be no way to Bambi as a man in a suit like they did with Winnie The Pooh as it would just look to odd and with them going the full CGI route with the character it does show that the makers of these films are indeed willing to try new things and part of that does include adding in computer effects and while the makers of this film don't always do a good job of making it look like that Bambi was there alot of the time as there are times where you can straight up tell that the films actors where just looking at a ball on a stick or just straight up nothing alot of the time the times that they do make it look like that he was actually there on set the effects on the character do look really good for a low budget film as this films effects will of course not look as good as the effects that are in say Superman 2025 or Deadpool & Wolverine for example as those films had huge effects budgets but for a film that had a really small budget and therefor had a really small effects budget as well this films effects look a damn sight better then what they really had any right to be.

To give these films some credit there has been an attempt to get somewhat better with the likes of Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey 2 being a prime example of this. With even the makers of these films being more then willing to listen to what the fans and what they are saying in order to make the next film better then the one that came before here and while Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare did somewhat continue that trend as there was more of an effort to make Peter Pan seem like an actually creepy villain here it felt like it was a case of one step forward two steps back as alot of the good work that they did over the course of Blood And Honey 2 and Neverland Nightmare just wasn't seen here in this film as the film was all mostly shot at night which granted was done to hide alot of the issues with the Bambi effect but it also makes it hard to tell where the characters are even meant to be as well where as with both Neverland Nightmare and Blood And Honey 2 you can tell right away where all of the characters were and therefore if the villain came anywhere near them you knew that someone was getting killed here tho there's nothing like that as all of the locations look the exact same with there being only two examples in the whole film and that's really it and while having the film set at night is great for tension building the film doesn't do that and to be fair it really doesn't need to either as it knows that it's a dumb horror film and isn't afraid to be exactly that but at the same time by having a more varied set of locations that you can very easily tell apart would make it alot more easier for us the audience to tell where the characters are meant to be in relation to one another.

Another thing that the previous two movies did fairly well was give us some decently well done characters. This is again something that this film just doesn't do as to call these characters one dimensional would be an insult to characters that are one dimensional as there really is nothing to any of these characters with alot of them just being there so that Bambi has someone to kill and that's really it as we get to find exactly nothing about any of this films characters be it from the main group of heroes or even the hunters that are hunting Bambi down there's really nothing to any of these characters which feels like an insult to this films actors as now the makers of this film are making an even harder task in acting essentially against nothing as they'd have to add Bambi in later now even harder as the actors themselves will have to struggle to find anything about these characters be it from their personality or what makes them likable in the first place as the only thing that makes the Xana a somewhat likable character is the fact that she actually likes and wants to spend time with her son where as his father Simon doesn't and that's it and while that is a nice thing to have and it is something that does go along way into making the character likable she she also drags her sons Uncle several miles via a caravan which is being driven by her son at high speed to get away from Bambi and when she sees her sons uncles body she shows no signs of remorse of basically sending someone to their death which is something that makes her unlikable and the Grandma Mary she gets it worst of all as all throughout the film we told and shows that sh has dementia only for her to start recovering from it by the end of the movie this is something that just wouldn't happen as once you get dementia that's it your not going to recover from it as it's going to kill you in the end and this is something that people who know someone who has had dementia can attest to.

The film does try to have to the story for Xana and Benji tie into the story of Bambi and his mother with Xana in this case acting out the role of Bambi's mother. This was a great idea as we get to see all throughout the film just how far she is willing to go in order to protect her son even if it's something as basic as not telling him that his dad who he loves dearly won't be coming with them to see his family to protecting him at several times against Bambi himself with this echoing the fact that Bambi's mother does at times when she was alive went to great lengths to protect him with the film even going out of it's way to make sure that we know that the hunters are the films true villains as while Bambi is of course the one killing people he's only doing it because of the fact that the humans took his fawn and he's trying to get the kid back something that any loving parent would of course try to do with Benji's dad Simon in this case filling in the role of the hunter as he wants nothing to do with his son with him even begging his wife at one point to take him and never see him again as all he wants to do is cause havoc and destruction in the forest lives with all of the other hunters Simon including showing such a distain for all of the other animals that live there including Thumper and while it's Benji that ultimately stops Bambi's killing spree by giving the deer the only thing in the world that he wanted it doesn't mean that the Bambi character in this one is a straight up good guy as while yes his intentions are indeed noble it's how he goes about them that makes him the villain as even tho he is an animal and therefor wouldn't be able to go about getting his kid back any other way he still didn't need to kill as many people as he did to get what he wanted as just killing the hunters would have been more then enough to justify him getting his kid back from them.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour hour and fifteen minuets and twenty one seconds. Which does make this film one of if not the shortest film in the The Twisted Childhood Universe series of films with this film having just about the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time but in saying that tho this is a film that really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as it doesn't develop it's plot well enough to the point where it feels like a strong enough plot to support an entire movie and as such it does at times feel like that the characters are just on repeat as they go from one location to the next meeting a bunch of people before a Bambi attack rinse and repeat and while this films plot did have all of the potential in the world to be a really good plot for this film it just needed alot more time devoted to it and to developing it to the point where it does feel like a strong plot and to the point where it doesn't feel like that the characters are stuck on repeat mode all of the time with this even effecting the films characters as all of them could have used alot of development in this film as none of them have anything that's even close to being a fully formed personality with the only thing really that makes alot of them standout is if they hate animals or not with the character of Harrison for example having a deep hatred for what is possibly his Grandma even down to the point where he's borderline abusive to her with his death being the only one that's actually satisfying as his character was just so annoying and wasn't really developed much apart from his deep hatred of his Grandma but i really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now the as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film as in all honesty pretty decent at best. As while there are alot of really good kills in this film alot of them either go on for far two long or aren't long enough for use the audience to really fully enjoy them with the best example of this film being the fact that when Harriet gets killed by Bambi he stabs her with his antlers and rips her body in half which would be more then enough to kill anyone but then the film cuts back to being just about alive later on in the film where she she then gets killed by one of the hunters forcing his knife into her throat which just ruins what was a perfectly awsome kill in it's own right all of the sake of padding out the running time and making sure that we know that the hunters are the actual villains of the film with an example of quick kill in this film being Simon's death as he's mauled to death by several rabbits only we don't get to see all that much of it as the film does lots of quick cuts and then it's all over and so we don't get to enjoy the death of a character that we really didn't like all that much in the first place sometimes going slower on your kills is better as us the audience want to fully enjoy the kill and we can't do that if the death is being cut to so fast that we can't tell what's going on until it's actually happened and while the film does have alot of really impressive gore effects due to the fact that the films is entirely set at night we don't get to see them all that much with the films best kill being the death of Harriett just due to how cool it is in the first place with the makers of this film really making the best use possible of the fact that it's main killer is a deer in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while it's hard to say if this film is the worst film in The Twisted Childhood Universe it's also quite clearly not the best entry either as it does takes several steps back from what the previous two films did so well but in saying that this there is still alot more effort in this film then there was in films like Popeye's Revenge for example as here you really can tell that the makers of the film are still trying to make a good film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then  i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are un this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does ern itself a grand old score of exactly a 4 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards .
