Ilsa, She Wolf Of The SS Review

You guys know that I very rarely throw up the 18 rating warning however I feel that it's very warranted for this film. This is a film that I have covered before but i'm covering it again because well honestly my thoughts on the film might have changed plus if things go the way that I think that they are going to go then there's a chance that you might be seeing a review of the sequel Ilsa, Harem Keeper Of The Oil Sheiks and so join me as I review "Ilsa, She Wolf Of The SS" enjoy the review.

There's is no real plot to this film but the basic premise of the film is Ilsa is a Kommandant of a Nazi prison camp and she conducts who conducts sadistic scientific experiments designed to demonstrate that women are more capable of enduring pain than men are. That's honestly it in terms of both the premise and the plot and honestly for this kind of film that's all you need but at the same time I would have liked it if there was a story but that's just me tho.

Starring in the film is Dyanne Thorne as Ilsa , Gregory Knoph as Wolfe , Tony Mumolo as Mario and George Buck Flower as Binz. Also starring in the film is Maria Marx as Anna , Nicolle Riddell as Kata , Jo Jo Deville as Ingrid , Sandy Richman as Maigret Rodina Keeler as Gretchen , Richard Kennedy as The General , Lance Marshall as Richter , Uschi Digard as Pressurized Chamber Prisoner , Colleen Brennan as Redheaded Prisoner and Sandy Dempsey as Prisoner.

I'm going to be honest here nobody expects great acting from any of these Ilsa films and yeah the same is true for this film. Since even tho there is some decent acting in this film the overall quality of the acting is in my opinion pretty low mostly due to the fact that the script doesn't give any of it's characters any kind of personality are characteristics and so the actors can only do so much with the material which in this case to performances that are at best passable.

Now there is a very good reason as to why i've thrown up the 18 rating at the start of this review and that's because there are alot of scenes which are very uncomfortable to watch. Even for a horror film there are alot of scenes that are just straight up uncomfortable to watch and alot of imagery due to the setting of the film are in my opinion uncomfortable as well with one of those things being that the hero not only works for but supports the Nazis.

I do have to give this film credit for pushing the boundaries of what could be considered good taste since you never know where the line of good taste ends unless you cross it and this film did a good job of telling me where that line could be for me personally. Everybody is going to have different opinions on what they consider to be in good taste and I honestly feel that's good to see what you consider good taste and force yourself to try and go beyond those limits.

I will say that the character of Ilsa who as mentioned is played by the late and very stunning if you ask me Dyanne Thorne is perhaps one of the most truly evil villains in horror. Simply because she was not only based of real life people who committed very evil crimes but also because she is someone that truly doesn't give a damn about anyone or anything which not makes her an entertaining villain but it also makes her someone that demands be feared.

Another part of what makes Ilsa evil is what she does to men i'm not going to spoil what she does since it's uncomfortable but let's just say she cuts of something that no man can live without if you get what i'm saying. I've honestly never seen a horror film that has the balls to cut of something so shall we say important to the male body and I oddly wish that more horror films would have the balls to do this just because it's a great way to get people feeling uncomfortable which is what you want in a horror movie in my opinion.

This film has a running time of one hour and thirty six minuets and six seconds which for me personally was a big issue. I say that it's a big issue because of the lack story and due to the fact that there's no actual plot in this film the film can honestly feel boring which is a shame because the idea behind the film is honestly really good and could very easily support a film but it still needs a story to keep your audiences interested in the characters and sadly there's isn't a story here and so all your left with is boring characters which make the film feel alot longer then the one hour and thirty six minuets and six seconds running time but that's just what I think tho and if you guys find this film to be either very entertaining or the greatest film ever then more power to you i'm just not one of those people that rate this film very highly.

Now then since this is a horror film that does mean that I have to talk about the scares that are in actual the film itself. To me the scares in this film were honestly very effective due to the fact that like I said the Ilsa character was based on at least two real life people and so that makes everything she does to these prisoners seem all the more scary and it helps that the scares in the film are genuinely quite scary or at leas they in my opinion anyways.

Overall yes this film is honestly really freaking good and I can very easily see how this film got three sequels. I will say that even tho there technically three Ilsa film the third film in the Ilsa film franchise actually isn't an Ilsa film and has so many freaking titles that it's unreal ,going to back to this film tho yes there are plenty of good things to be found in this film as i've covered in this review but there's also alot of bad things about the film as well which i've also covered in this very review as such Ilsa, She Wolf Of The SS gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from one website only with that website being the one and only Google Images. Since I only went to Google Images for the images that I used in this review I have no choice but to recommend that you use Google Images if you to use any image from any of the Ilsa movies and i'm not going to end this with Elvira saying unpleasant dreams just because it wouldn't be fitting considering the film that i've just reviewed but who knows maybe she'll feature in tomorrows possible review but only time will tell tho so don't go getting your hopes up and the reason why I didn't include Elvira at the start of the review is because it didn't feel right given the film that i'm reviewing but like with the ending she might appear in tomorrows possible review but don't go getting your hopes up tho.

Krampus 2015 Film Review

Horror fans it's been about three weeks since I last reviewed a straight up horror movie and well with Christmas right around the corner I thought it would be fun to try and tie Christmas and horror together. Well I think i've found the perfect film one that is honestly a little kid friendly so you can have it on over the Christmas and one that honestly has alot of good scares and so here is my review of the 2015 film "Krampus" enjoy.

The plot of the film is Max a kid who still believes in Santa looses his christmas spirit after an argument with one of his relatives turns violent and so without knowing it Max unleashes Krampus a demon who punishes naughty or badly behaved children and so the family have to fight for there lives and regain their christmas spirit. Plot wise this film is great because you have a great story that is not only well told but one where you cannot predict where it's going and honestly makes the film alot of fun to watch since your honestly interested in finding out where the story is heading which no matter when genre the film is is always a good thing.

Starring in the film are Emjay Anthony as Max Engel , Adam Scott as Tom Engel and Toni Collette as Sarah Engel. Also starring in the film are David Koechner as Howard , Allison Tolman as Linda , Krista Stadler as Omi Engel , Conchata Ferrell as Aunt Dorothy , Stefania LaVie Owen as Beth Engel , Lolo Owen as Stevie , Queenie Samuel as Jordan , Maverick Flack as Howie Jr. , Seth Green as The Voice Gingerbread Man Lumpy , Rick & Morty co-creator and star Justin Roiland as The Voice Of Gingerbread Man Clumpy and Gideon Emery as The Voice Of Krampus.

As for the acting in the hell it's just as a movie like this deserves like you hear a Christmas theme horror comedy and you don't expect great acting you expect OK to solid acting. Which this film has all of the actors turn either OK or solid performances with there being no true standout performer because this kind of film really doesn't demand that anyone turn in OSCAR worthy performances which in this case is a very good thing because it was clash with the film' goofy tone.

Doing the CGI for this film are the greats and legends over at Weta Digital , Ghost VFX and Mokko Studio. For a film that cost fifteen million American dollars to make this film honestly have some decent looking CGI to me what helps the CGI is the fact that it's mixed in with alot of practical effects and so even if you see a bad CGI effect which your honestly not that likely to do it doesn't really matter because it's followed up with a really cool looking practical effect.

I honestly love the fact that they didn't use that much CGI in the film since i'm a huge fan practical effects and I believe that if you can do something for real in a film then it should be a practical effect. Take for example this film they only use CGI when they absolutely have to and lot of what your seeing on screen is a practical effect and I have to say that the practical effects look so much better then the CGI effects because the practical effects were actually there on set where as the CGI effects don't always look like they were there on set.

Honestly the best way I can describe the tone of this film is that it's the kind of tone that you'd get if you mixed family Guy with The Simpsons and with a dash of Looney Tunes added in for good measure. Since yeah this film basically is a live action cartoon in places and while that does kind of clash with the horror elements in the film you could also argue that that's the point because Christmas and horror are complete polar opposites and so making a horror themed Christmas film that's aimed for teenagers and little kids just isn't going to work tone wise and you could very well make the argument that the tone doesn't work for this film and i'd honestly agree since the film can be a bit to goofy which doesn't work for the horror elements but then it could be a bit to scary which doesn't work with the films more comedic moments but that's just what I think.

There is one thing that I didn't like about this film and it's the commentary that the film has which is that Christmas has become to commercial. The only reason that I didn't like this aspect of the film is because it's a piece of commentary that's been played to death and while that commentary works for other films you have to add something new to keep it fresh which sadly they don't do here they just talk about points that over Christmas films not just Christmas themed horror films have talked about and that makes the commentary in this played out but it does lead to what I think is one the greatest horror openings since the original Carrie and if you've seen this movie you'll know exactly what i'm talking about.

This film has a running time of one hour and thirty seven minuets and forty seconds and if i'm being honest that's the right amount of time for this film. I'm not going to lie I would have liked this film to have been a bit longer just because I was having a good time and it would have allowed for some character development which is very sadly lacking with the current running time (which as i've mentioned is one hour and thirty seven minuets and forty seconds) but at the same time if the film was longer even by ten minuets it would stretch what is already a pretty thin story to it's breaking point but that's just my opinion tho.

Now then this is a horror comedy and so that means we have to talk about both of those aspects and so let's talk about the comedy in the film. Which to me personally was honestly OK at best I can't say that this film didn't have me laughing because I did laugh a few times at the films jokes but at the same time I wasn't laughing as much as I wanted to given the amount of comedic talent in this film who we know can make people I was expecting to be busting a gut laughing instead I was left just smiling at a couple of the films jokes which for a horror comedy let alone any kind of comedy is in my opinion a pretty bad thing but that's just me you guys might have found every joke in this film to be freaking funny as all hell i'm just not one of those people who liked all of the jokes in this film.

Now that we've talked about the jokes in this horror comedy it only makes sense that we now talk about the horror aspect of this horror comedy. Which in my opinion is where this film shines best because my god are the kills in this film super freaking creative and for a PG13 film (which in the UK translates to either a 12 or a 12a) they get away with lot they dont show any blood or anything but you see people get killed in worse ways in this film then most horror films aimed at people either in their late teens or adults.

Overall the best word that I can use to describe this movie is fun because honestly this film is pure fun to watch. That being said there are some issues with this film which i've covered in this review and while you can very well say that the issues that I had with this film are the films whole point to me they are still flaws with the film but at the same time the film does have alot of good things in it as well all which i've also covered in this review and so this film gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I got in this review I got from either Wikipedia , Google Images or the official Krampus fandom wiki page. Since I got the overall majority of the images from Google Images I have no choice but to recommend that you use Google Images if you want images from this film but be warned there really aren't many high definition images to be found on Google Images so use Google Images at your own risk and as per usual we end this review as we always do with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

Freaky Film Review

Horror fans we are living in a time were no new films are being released in theaters well now there is a film that is out in theaters so you just know I had to check it out. I can't say that i've been looking forward to this film hell until about a few weeks ago I had no idea that was even a thing but with there being a savvier lack of new horror films being released I thought why not check this film out and so here is my review of the 2020 slasher comedy horror film "Freaky" enjoy.

The plot of the film is a high school student finds herself switching bodies with an older man the only thing is the older man happens to be a serial killer and so the high school student only has a few hours before the change is permanent. The best way I can describe the plot is that it's like a dark and twisted version of Freaky Friday and honestly I can't believe that this kind of story hasn't been done in horror before at least to my knowledge anyway since the story of this film is honestly really refreshing and is really well told in my opinion.

Starring in the film is Vince Vaughn as The Blissfield Butcher and Millie Kessler and Kathryn Newton as Millie Kessler and The Blissfield Butcher. Also starring in this film is Katie Finneran as Paula Kessler , Celeste O'Connor as Nyla , Alan Ruck as Mr. Fletcher , Misha Osherovich as Josh , Former Girl Meets World star Uriah Shelton as Booker , Radhesh Aria as Kumar and Dana Drori as Charlene "Char" Kessler.

As for what I thought about the acting in the film it was honestly a lot better then what I thought it was going to be. I say that because I literally knew nothing about this film and so when i saw who was in the film I didn't have much hope i'll be honest and so it was truly shocking to me to see that all of these actors actually turn in really good and solid performances because it's something that I honestly wasn't expecting to be the case whatsoever.

One of the things that this film doesn't do that well in my opinion is explain it's supernatural aspect which is kind of a big deal due to the film's premise. I honestly feel that the film should have explain why these two characters who have never met each other before are now suddenly switching bodies and the film should have explained it's supernatural aspect since like I said it's key part of the film's premise hell they could have done both with a few scenes or a few lines of dialog but for some reason the filmmakers pay no attention to the supernatural aspect of the film.

Unlike alot of horror films that have come recently this one is honestly the most fun to watch and that is honestly the best thing that I can say about the film. A film doesn't always need a deep story or deep characters sometimes it just needs to be fun and that is where this film excels in my opinion because I honestly had a good time watching this film and it's one that I can see other horror fans having a blast watching as well.

I honestly really like the idea behind this film since putting a creepy twist on the idea of people swapping bodies is such a cool idea and even the original idea of people switching bodies is honestly pretty creepy. I'm shocked that there might even be a horror film with this idea as it's main vocal point because it's such an original and refreshing idea and you could really go as far as you want to with that one idea.

Now apparently this film has the same DNA as Happy Death Day which basically means if the filmmakers of either film wanted to they could have characters from either film crossover and meet each other. As awesome as that could be I don't want there to be a crossover between these two film films just because I think the idea for this film is good for this one film and it would really work well in sequels or crossover films because we would have seen it played out in this film but if they filmmakers behind both films came up with an original idea then i'd be down to watch a crossover film.

This film is one hour and thirty six minuets long which I feel is a bit to long for this film simply because there's only enough story for an hour and a half at the most. As such this film does start to drag on a bit from around the half way mark onwards which is never a good thing regardless of what the film is as such I feel that whoever is in charge of deciding a films running time should have said to make it shorter but that's just what I think tho.

Since this is a horror comedy that means that we have to take a look at both of those aspects and so let's start with the comedy aspect of this horror comedy. I honestly feel that this film was pretty funny with alot of the jokes coming from the fact that it's a girl inside of a man's body (yes I know how it sounds and I didn't mean it to sound like that it's just that was best way to describe it) and so you'd think that the jokes that they can get out of that wouldn't be that funny and that they would get alot of jokes from that set up but no they make alot of jokes and they manage to make the setup very funny.

Now that we've talked about the comedy part of this horror comedy we now have to talk about the kills in this horror comedy. Which i'm not going to lie are super freaking creative yes there are some of the standard throat slits in this film but the overall majority of the kills are freaking creative as all hell and just from the fact that there creative kills I would honestly recommend this movie to slasher fans just because your going to see people get killed in ways that you've hopefully never seen before in a slasher film.

Overall this is honestly a really fun and refreshing horror film it's just a shame that it's being released at a time when no one will venture out to the cinema's to go and see it due to the on going pandemic. As i've made clear at this point I do honestly feel that you should go and see this film if you love horror films but with that said this isn't a perfect film since i've talked about it's faults in this review just like i've talked about all of the films good points in this review as such this film gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from either Google Images of the official Happy Death Day fandom wiki page. Since I got the majority of the images from Google Images I have no choice but to recommend that you use Google Images if you want images from this film but be warned not all of the images or high definition but a shocking amount of theme are and as always horror fans we end this review as we always do with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

Cult Of Chucky Film Review

Horror fans I promised you that i'd review of a bunch of Chucky movies and well i've finally got to the last and most recent Child's Play / Chucky movie. It might have taken me alot longer then what I had originally planned but at least I can say that I have now covered the vast majority of the Child's Play / Chucky films and yes I will at some point get to both Child's Play 2 and Child's Play 3 but I don't know when tho and so here is my review of "Cult Of Chucky" enjoy.

The plot of the film is Chucky is once again terrorising Nica who after the events of Curse Of Chucky (the last film) has found herself in a mental institution and it's up to Nica to once again defeat Chucky before it's two late. Plot wise the film is fairly decent since it does offer a pretty unique setting at least for the Child's Play / Chucky films at least but at the same time the whole cult plot to me feels really out of place for this franchise but the story of this film I thought was really well told but that's just what I think tho.

Starring in this film is Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce , Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay and Brad Dourif as The Voice Of Chucky. Also starring in the film is Michael Therriault as Dr. Foley . Adam Hurtig as "Multiple" Malcolm / Michael , Elisabeth Rosen as Madeleine , Grace Lynn Kung as Claire , Martina Stephenson Kerr as Angela , Zak Santiago as Nurse Carlos , Ali Tataryn as Nurse Ashley and Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine.

The acting in the film is honestly a lot better then what I remember it being and please bare in mind I first saw this film when it was first released. The actors who you expect to deliver a solid performance really do deliver with Brad Dourif once again killing it as the voice of Chucky and Jennifer Tilly turning in a solid performance as Tiffany and I have to say Alex Vincent is still really good as a now grown up Andy Barclay.

Now it's been confirmed that the upcoming Chucky TV series which is called either Chucky or Child's Play The TV Series will continue the cult plot set up in this film. Which for me is a good idea since this plotline really does need to explained more since it not really handled very well in this film in my opinion and so spreading it out over several hour long episodes is honestly the best thing that they could do for this plot line.

While they do explain how Chucky suddenly knows how to split his soul across several other dolls to me it's something that doesn't really work. Since for all Chucky could have known the spell that he found could have killed him or made him mortal and so I find it very hard to believe that Chucky would blindly put his faith in a spell that he found on the internet that to me just doesn't make any kind of sense.

I will admit that the only part about the voodoo cult subplot that i liked is that we get to see Chucky take over Nica's body. That to me is such a cool idea and I cannot wait to see what the TV series does with that idea should they do anything with the idea but the only thing that I didn't like about it in this film it's that Fiona Dourif who plays Nica doesn't change her voice that much to me would would have really sold me on the idea of Chucky taking over people's bodies is if she changed her voice to sound close enough to her father since her father is THE voice Chucky Brad Dourif which would not only have been a cool idea but it would have total sense as well.

These direct to DVD films have so far had a really cool habit of bringing back actors from the earlier films in the franchise and while this film gas been out a while i'm still not going to say who it who cameos in this film. Simply because well ne it would ruin a really awesome moment and two it is literally just that a cameo and nothing more but I will say that this person's cameo is an after credits scene and it hopefully sets up the characters possibly appearance in the the upcoming TV show but only time will tell.

The running time for this film is one hour and thirty minuets and fifty six seconds so let's round that up to one hour and thirty one minuets. Which while it does feel about right for the main story of the film but when you take into account the whole voodoo subplot then this film could have been better if it had a longer running time just because the whole voodoo thing really did need explaining better and this film just plain and simply didn't have the running time it needed in order to fully explain that plotline in my opinion.

Now then boys and girls since this is a slasher film that does mean that we have to talk about the kills that are in the film. Which for me are very hit and miss since for every cool looking kill we got it was then quickly followed up by two or three kills that didn't look as good but for me tho there were more good looking kills then there was bad looking kills which for a slasher horror film is always a good thing.

Overall this was a decent film but I can't honestly say that it's better then Curse Of Chucky because it really isn't in my opinion. That doesn't mean that there aren't some good things to be found in this film because there but there's just as many bad things about the film. To me and many Child's Play / Chucky fans Curse Of Chucky was a return to form for the franchise and so it's sad to see it's sequel not be as good as such this film gets a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from either Google Images or the official Chucky fandom wiki page which is just called The Chucky fandom wiki page. Since I got alot of the images that I used in this review from Google Images I have no choice but to recommend that you guys Google Images if you want images from this film simply because there are alot more images from the film but not all of them are high definition tho so you have been warned and as always horror fans we end this review as we always do with our true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

Curse Of Chucky Film Review

Well then horror fans I told you that i'd be taking a look at a bunch of Child's Play /  Chucky movies and well I meant it. So today and if things go according to plan tomorrow i'll be reviewing both of the direct to DVD Child's Play / Chucky sequels just because I haven't seen those movies since they came out and I want to see if the films are better then what I remember them being and so since this film came out first join my as I review the 2013 film "Curse Of Chucky" enjoy the review everyone since we all know this film is going to be better then Seed Of Chucky.

The plot of the film is Chucky is out for revenge this time on someone who wronged him when he was alive and known as Charles Lee Ray and it's up to Nica Pierce to stop him before he kills her entire family. In all honesty after the terrible story that we had in Seed Of Chucky the plot for this movie isn't that bad infact it's oddly refreshing and the plot in my opinion is really well told both of which help make the film more enjoyable in my opinion.

Starring in the film is Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce and franchise star and the father of Fiona Dourif Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray and The Voice Of Chucky. Also starring in the film is Danielle Bisutti as Barb Pierce , Brennan Elliott as Ian , Maitland McConnell as Jill , Chantal Quesnel as Sarah Pierce , Summer H. Howell as Alice Pierce , A (Single) Martinez as Father Frank and Adam Hurtig as Officer Stanton.

Now you might have noticed that there are a few returning actors that i've not credited and that's because when this film first came out it was a surprise to see those actors again and so I want to keep there return a surprise just incase there are people who haven't seen this film but are Chucky fans. As for what I thought about the acting in this film it was a lot better then the acting in Seed Of Chucky i'll give this film that but that's not a high bar to reach and it goes with out saying but Brad Dourif really does kill it as the voice of Chucky in this film as does his daughter Fiona Dourif who as mentioned before is playing Nica Pierce.

Now this is something that I honestly wasn't expecting but there are references in this film to I think all of the other Child's Play / Chucky movies. Since on a computer when Nica is looking up stuff on Chucky we see LA , Hackensack New Jersey and Chicago and the army school from Child's Play 3 all listed as locations for where Chucky has killed and I think when Chucky is talking about all of the families that he's visited he mentions the family from Child's Play 2 but I could be wrong tho.

Either way I liked that they found away to mention all of the films in the franchise without having to do the standard recap of the storyline of the films that all slasher films seems to do. The way that they did it here felt more organic since there would be newspaper reports on the murders that we've seen in these films and while it doesn't make sense for Chucky to start talking about the families that he's visited it's really the only way that they could have referenced Child's Play 2 without people getting confused as to why a Toy Factory blowing up is front page news.

Just kind of keeping with what I just said I like the fact that they are keeping Seed Of Chucky canon just because even tho it's a bad film it is still a film in the Child's Play / Chucky franchise and the fans of the franchise might be angry if they chose to ignore Seed Of Chucky and instead chose to make this film a direct sequel to either Child's Play 3 or Bride Of Chucky. It's due to this that makes think that Child's Play creator and writer of all the films and director of Seed Of Chucky , Curse Of Chucky (this film) and Cult Of Chucky Don Mancini respects his audience because he knows that the fans will pick up on anything to do with either continuity or the timeline of the Child's Play / Chucky film franchise but that's just what I think.

Let's get onto some negative aspects of the film because trust me the film does have some bad things going for it. The first of which being they try to make this like the first film which doesn't really work when you take into account the film's title or the fact that they credit Brad Dourif as The Voice Of Chucky in the opening credits and so the audience is already going to know who the killer is and that Nica isn't going insane which means all suspense on that plot line is now lost because we know how it's going to play out.

I'm not going to lie I liked the character of Nica who as mention before is played by Brad Dourif's real life daughter Fiona Dourif. Nica to me is more proactive hero in that from pretty much the first murder she's on to Chucky and is doing everything she can to prove that Chucky is the killer which to me makes the film alot more fun just because your seeing this character who already knows who the killer is trying to persuade her other family members that she's telling the truth.

However the downside to all of that is even when the evidence all points to Chucky being the killer Nica's family acts dumb. The worst offender for this is the character of Barb (as played by Danielle Bisutti) who right after finding a knife on Chucky sits Chucky down somewhere in the attic and leaves the knife right next to him while she carries on looking for her daughter the very fact that she left the killers weapon of choice right next to killer is just so freaking dumb.

This film has a running time of one hour and thirty four minuets which to me is a little bit to long but that's just what I think. I say this because even tho there's more then enough plot to cover that running time alot of the time there's nothing interesting happening and so I did get bored alot of the time which no matter what the film is or what genre the film is having your audience get bored during your film is something that you never want to happen.

Now then since this is a slasher film that does mean that I have to talk about the kills in the film and while we do get to see alot more kills in this film. There are a few kills in this film which look cool but they happen off screen which is a shame because they could have made for some really cool kills but the kills that we do get to see are honestly pretty creative and in some cases are honestly pretty freaking funny with the chief example of that being the death of the babysitter which just had me laughing just due to how easy that kill is for Chucky.

Overall this film is so much better then Seed Of Chucky and is honestly the shot in the arm that the franchise needed. That being said the film does have alot of issues some of which hurt the film quite alot but where as with Seed Of Chucky where the negative aspects of the film outweighed the positive here the positive aspects outweigh the negative aspects of the film and so this film gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from either the official Child's Play fandom wiki page or Google Images. Since I got alot of the images from Google Images I have no choice but to recommend that you guys use Google Images if you want high quality and in some cases high definition images and so we end this review as we always do with our true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

Bride Of Frankenstein 1935 Film Review

Ladies and gentlemen the last time I reviewed a Frankenstein movie was two years ago and ever since then i've been dying to cover one of the sequels and so today i'm finally taking the plunge and taking a look at the first Frankenstein sequel. This is one that like alot of these much older horror films I haven't seen but im very much a where of certain things from the film and so join me as I review 1935's "Bride Of Frankenstein" enjoy.

The plot of the film is Frankenstein's monster is still alive and so is Henry Frankenstein and while Henry wants nothing to do with the monster he himself created an old friend by the name of Doctor Pretorius wants Henry to help him in a scheme one which involves giving the monster a bride. In my opinion the plot of this film isn't as good as the first film but it is still a very engaging plot and the story is very well handled in my opinion.

Starring in the film is Boris Karloff as The Monster , Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein and Valerie Hobson as Elizabeth Frankenstein. Also starring in the film is Ernest Thesiger as Doctor Pretorius , Elsa Lanchester as Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley and The Monster's Bride , Gavin Gordon as Lord Byron , Douglas Walton as Percy Bysshe Shelley , Una O'Connor as Minnie and E. E. Clive as The Burgomaster.

In my opinion the acting in this film is honestly really good with all of the actors giving truly great performances. I honestly feel that it was hard for the actors to top the work that they did in the first film but they honestly come really close with this film and while the script does let the actors down a little bit since the actors aren't really given much to do for large portions of the film when they are given something to do however that's when you get to see some truly good acting or at least that's what I think anyways.

As you can all no doubt tell from the title this film features the only film appearance of The Monster's Bride. While this character would appear in some form or another over the years this is the only one in the original Universal Pictures line of monster films in which she appears and despite her name being in the title she only appears for less then a few minuets near the end of the film as such I find it remarkable that the character made as much of an impact as she did considering she's not in the film for that long.

To me this film is as much a tragedy as it is either a romance or a horror film because we see all throughout the film The Monster getting terrorised even when he's actually doing more good then other people in the film. This makes me think if the whole message behind the Frankenstein's monster character is "don't judge a book by it's cover" because we see people judging The Monster just by his appearance and yet we the audience see The Monster is actually a pretty friendly person who just wants to be liked by someone.

Adding to what I just said there's a really great sequence in this movie where The Monster meets a blind man and the two becomes friends. This to me is a great sequence because we get to see The Monster be truly happy and while of course it does come crashing down when some hunters that The Monster fought earlier recognise him that to me makes the sequence all the more heartbreaking because The Monster is never going to have what he truly wants which is a friend and nothing more.

I do like that they made The Monster speak actual words in this film since to me The Monster is a mentally disabled child. As such it makes alot of sense that the character would start to speak full sentences which oddly makes the film more heartbreaking considering almost everyone that the Monster runs into wants to see him dead and i'm shocked i've never seen the Frankenstein the way that i'm seeing him now because in hindsight it really does make sense.

I know that i've already talked about The Monster's Bride but I have to talk about her again just due to how engraved in pop culture she is. I would have liked it if this film appeared in the film more then what she does just because it would have been nice to see how she is with The Monster and this way we can get a glimpse of what her personality is like which would hopefully make us like her and plus it'd be interesting to see what the villagers would have thought of her would that have accepted her or would they treat her exactly how they treat The Monster there's a whole world of ideas that could have been done with this character and sadly the film does none of them.

For some reason this film opens up with a scene featuring Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley which as far as I can tell is only there just so the film can show flashbacks of the ending of the first Universal Pictures Frankenstein film. Since the characters in that opening aren't revisited at any point in the film and so I have to wonder why did the film makers bother to include that opening since it adds nothing to the film and is honestly quite pointless in my opinion.

This film is one hour and fourteen minuets and fifty four seconds long and so lets round that up to one hour and fifteen minuets shall we. I honestly had no idea that this film was that short since I always assumed that it was at least an hour and a half long if not a little bit longer then that and so to find out that it's not even and hour and twenty minuets long was for me quite shocking even more so when you take into account all of the story that they somehow manage to fit into this. Which is a another issue that I have with the film since the film is so short plot points that would come naturally in a longer film here feel rushed.

Overall while I cannot say that this film is better then Frankenstein I can say that it more then matches up to the high standards set by that film. Yes this film does have alot of issues all of which i've talked about this review but for me this is a case where the good out weigh the bad and as such I do feel that this film is must watch for any horror fan and with all of that in mind this film gets a 7 out of 10 from me. All of the images that I got for this review were gathered from either Google Images who I have no choice but to recommend that you use if you want images from this film or the official monster fandom wiki page and so we end this review as we always do with our true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.
