Saw IV AKA Saw 4 Film Review

The Saw franchise is perhaps one of the longest horror franchises apart from the Chucky franchise that is. With each three Saw films telling one story and the overall Saw films telling one complete story and as such I thought that it was about right to take a look at the first film in a new Saw trilogy and so then join me as I review the film that introduces us to a new Jigsaw killer with the film in question being called simply just "Saw IV" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a Police officer who is obsessed with stopping the Jigsaw killer for good suddenly finds himself in a Jigsaw game. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot just being the stereotypical Saw film plot and nothing more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Tobin Bell as John Kramer / Jigsaw and Costas Mandylor as Detective Mark Hoffman. Also starring in this film is Scott Patterson as Agent Peter Strahm , Betsy Russell as Jill Tuck , Lyriq Bent as Officer Daniel Rigg , Athena Karkanis as Agent Lindsey Perez , Justin Louis as Art Blank , Donnie Wahlberg as Detective Eric Matthews , Angus Macfadyen as Jeff Denlon , Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young , Bahar Soomekh as Lynn Denlon , Mike Realba as Detective Fisk and Dina Meyer as Detective Allison Kerry.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films cast doing their best to make what little this films script gives them to work with work well enough for them in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The saw franchise is perhaps the best horror franchise when it comes to setting things up and paying things off. Since this film pays off things that were set up in both Saw 2 and Saw 3 respectively with the character of Eric Matthews who of course made his debut appearance in Saw 2 and appeared again in Saw 3 where something happens to him off screen well here we find out that he's been missing for six months while this new game was being set up and of course there's the character of Detective Mark Hoffman somebody who was only a background character in Saw 3 but here it's revelled that he has a much bigger role in the franchise moving forward that's just how good this film is at setting things up and paying them off in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Of course this film takes place at the exact same time as the events of Saw 3 which while that is a pretty cool idea on paper. It's not something that's worked all that well into the final film since we only get one scene with the character from Saw 3 and that's it and as such I would have liked it if we got to see more events from Saw 3 seen through the eyes of the characters from Saw 4 just to show a new prospective on things since that would have been pretty cool to see in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

I'm not really a big fan of this film showing certain events out of chronological order since in this case it doesn't really serve the story all that well. All it does is serve the big reveal at the end which is fine but the main focus of the film should always be the story and not the ending twist of the film but at the same time that autopsy scene is a pretty creepy and a very gory scene to see play out in this movie in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Another thing that I take issue with in this film is the fact that the death of Eric Matthews a character that we've known since Saw 2 just isn't that satisfying. I will admit that his death is kind of cool but at the same time tho the character has no impact on this films plot and the character has been presented as a character who had anger issues in Saw 2 but who was learning from that experience and becoming a better person and as such he didn't really need to die in this film at all at least not in this way in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then while I cannot for the absolutely live of me remember what ever this films running time even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact running time of roughly one hour an thirty minuets. Which is kind of the bog-standard running time for these Saw sequels but this film really could have been alot longer since there's quite alot of story there to easily get this film up to at the very least one hour and forty minuets and yet for some reason the makers of this film chose to make this film around one hour and thirty minuets which really does hurt this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this is a Saw film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual traps that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual traps that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty pretty good. With alot of this films traps being pretty creepy and having some very gory and scary outcomes which for a Saw film is always want your traps to be like in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is good start to this new trilogy of Saw films but at the same time it's film that could have been quite alot better since it does have alot of promise to it in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com , the official Saw fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because of the fact Google Images actually has alot of images from this film up on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all fairly high quality and as well as being as fairly high definition and so then horror fans we ends this review as we always freaking do with our one and true freaking goddess Elvira wishing us all some very freaking unpleasant dreams indeed.

The Final Film Review

There are alot of horror films that sadly don't get alot of attention from either the mainstream audience or die hard horror fans alike....
