Scream 2 Film Review

Scream fans we are but just a few short days away from the release of Scream VI ad well you all just knew that I had to find a film to produce a tie in review for Scream VI. However I will admit that it was super hard to choose which film would be perfect for this tie in review but I think i've chosen the right film to review for you all and so then join me as I review the film that saw the franchise move away from Woodsboro for the very first time with the film in question being called simply just "Scream 2" enjoy.

The plot of this film is two years after the events of the first film Sydney finds herself being stalked by another Ghostface killer and must work out who this new killer before she ends up the victim in his movie. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot doing a good job of giving us something new and different whilst at the same sticking to what's familiar in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is David Arquette as Dewey Riley , Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. Also starring in this film is Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar as Cici Cooper , Jamie Kennedy as Randy Meeks , Laurie Metcalf as Debbie Salt , Elise Neal as Hallie , Jerry O'Connell as Derek , Timothy Olyphant as Mickey , Jada Pinkett as Maureen Evans , Liev Schreiber as Cotton Weary , Lewis Arquette as Louis Hartley , Duane Martin as Joel , Rebecca Gayheart as Lois , Portia De Rossi as Murphy , Omar Epps as Phil Stevens and Roger L. Jackson as The Voice Of Ghostface.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which given just how good of a director that Wes Craven was the fact that this film has some really good acting within it isn't that much of a surprise since a good director will always try and in most cases succeed to get good performances out of their cast.

This is of course the film that introduced us to the Stab franchise which I think is Wes Cravens and Kevin Williamson's way of satirizing how Hollywood glorifies pretty much everything. With the very opening of Stab being a prime example of this since in the original Scream the Casey Becker character wasn't taking a shower when she got her phone call and yet in Stab she's about to take a shower thus tricking the fictional audience that they would be seeing some nudity which is something that Jada Pinkett's character does comment altho the Stab version of Casey does have a reason a reason to be nude since she's about to actually take a shower something which the Jada Pinkett character fails to realise.

To me the character of Sydney Prescott just wasn't needed at all in this movie since her story was all wrapped up in the end of the first movie. Tho I get the feeling that she was only brought back just so that they could get as much of the surviving cast of characters back in which case the film did do a good job of advancing her character but the franchise really should have killed of in Scream 3 since then would not only live up to one of the rules thats mentioned in that film but it would also rise the stakes as well since it would mean that any of the characters can die and this is something that Scream 2022 did wonderfully since by killing of Dewey that now says to us the audience that if that character can die the any if the characters can now die.

This film was made and released in less then a ear after the first film and to this films credit it really doesn't show. As it looks like the exact same amount of care and detail that went into the first film went into this one and while some aspects of the film do suffer it's not due to the incredibly short time that they would have had to write the movie since those mostly boil down to the rewrites that the team had to do whilst making the movie with things like the killers reveal being one of the things that does suffer due to the rewrites.

What I think was rather interesting is that the character of Hallie was meant to be a killer in this movie this was something that her actress Elise Neal confirmed on her own Twitter account. This does somewhat tie into my theory that this film does secretly have three killers since there was no way in heck that Ghostface would be able to be in two places at once as would have had to have bee the case when the cop car crashes and so if Hallie was originally a killer in this movie then she could have helped set up a plan so that there didn't have to be that many killers and it would have added some dimension to her character as well.

Now then I really cannot for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films running time even was but I do know that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and fifty minuets. Which was the perfect amount of time for this film to last since it has just the right amount of plot an story to cover that amount of running time and nothing more then that bu I do wish that also more time was dedicated to fleshing out the new characters tho since they all come of as being very one dimensional.

So now then since this is a slasher that means that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. Which isn't a bad thing since we do get alot of really creative kills in this film but at the same time alot of the kills are just stabbings and there's really only so much time that you can see that be the case before it starts to get boring and rather samey as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall out of the earlier Scream sequels this is the better one but at the same time it still feels like a step down interms of quality when you compare it to the first film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from IMP Awards . Com , the official Scream fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being the official Scream fandom wiki page simply because the official Scream fandom wiki page  actually has images from this film up on the official Scream fandom wiki page and pus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on the official Scream fandom wiki page were all fairly high quality and as well as being as fairly high definition and so then horror fans we ends this review as we always do with our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

The Final Film Review

There are alot of horror films that sadly don't get alot of attention from either the mainstream audience or die hard horror fans alike....
