Goldilocks And The Three Bears: Death And Porridge Film Review

Why is it now a thing for a classic children's stories to get turned into very cheaply made horror films yes there very cheap and easy to make but alot of them have no creativity to them. With the film that i'm going to be reviewing for you all today being ANOTHER one of these films that are based off of a kids story only unlike say Mouse Of Horror for example this one isn't based off of anything that is under copyright law which makes it all the more perplexing that it's taken until now for this version of the story to be made and so then join me as I review the film that sees four classic kids characters get turned into slasher villain for literally no reason whatsoever with the film in question being called simply just "Goldilocks And The Three Bears: Death And Porridge" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when some friends accidentally find themselves at the wrong home for a brief holiday they have to try and survive when they find themselves under attack by a girl and three bears. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just as bad as you'd think it would be and not in a fun way either as everything that you think that this film will do from a plot point of vie they do it as they hit all of the horror tropes including not being able tp use a phone for insert reason here and in this case not being able to use the internet and it's this lack of creativity that makes what could have been a good and fun plot seem dull and generic as this is a plot that's been done ten times better in other horror films heck even The Mouse Trap has a better plot then this and while that film has it own set of problems with it's plot the one thing it is not was predictable where as here you can tell right away what horror plot tropes that there going to hit as it's just that generic with it being made clear as day that the makers of this film were banking on the fact that they had four kids characters as there main villain as next to no effort was put into making the plot of this film actually good with the plot of this film not even being really rather entertaining and nor is it really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Abigail Huxley as Kelly , Olga Solo as Goldilocks and Jack Barry as Mama Bear and Julian Amos as Norman. Also starring in this film is Grace Darling Smith as Baby Bear , this films co-writer and director Craig Rees as Simon , Mali Crowley as The Tortured Teenager , Susan Franks as Jamie , Robson Medler as Daddy Bear , Jimmy Roberts as George and Flex Friday TV Show star Flex Singh as Jas.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad. Even for one of these films the acting was laughably bad which at first might seem unforgiveable but then when you look into the films IMDB page you discover that alot of this films actors are making there acting debut's with this film and those that aren't have only been in short films at best but even with that excuse in mind there should have been some effort to make this films laughably bad acting at the very least somewhat tolerable to watch but as the makers of this film but more attention into the fact that the had four kids characters as the main villains then they did the actual important aspects of the film then what we are left with is a bunch of actors who are mostly feeling lost with the only decent actor in this film being Olga Solo as Goldilocks who at the very least sounds like that she's having fun playing the character altho with the bad audio that they give the character it really is hard to tell what she's actually saying with the acting in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

For all of the many , many , many things that this film gets wrong the one thing that it gets right is the fact that at times it is very visually stunning to look at. With that being due to the fact that this films cinematographer Toson Chan not only knew what he was doing but he was also a co-producer on the film as well and because of that we do get alot of really nice looking shots that don't feel at home in this film but would feel more at home in  other and quite frankly better movies and while alot of the shots do look nice alot of the time as well with the film making use of warm colors when the characters are safe at the start of movie before then going into more cooler colors when Goldilocks and the three bears do start to attack them the film does also choose to mute the colors when our heroes are being attacked as well when it would have made more sense for the makers of this film to just stick with cooler colors rather making use of alot of browns as then you have the contrast from the start of the movie with the warmer colors being used to represent safety and the cooler colors being used to represent the fact that the characters are in danger when were using alot of brown on the main characters just makes the whole film look ugly and less colorful and given what type of film that this is and the fact that it was never going to win any awards in the first place you could really go over the top with the colors just to highlight the pure insanity that the very concept behind this film really is as let's be honest here the very idea of kids characters being turned into slasher villains is such an insane idea that having these bright and over the top colors would oddly work in he films favor.

Out of all of these horror films that i've seen this one is quite easily one of the more worst ones as even Mouse Of Horrors was entertaining in alot of respects. This film isn't even so bad that it's good it's just bad and it's because of the fact that even tho it tried to have a comedic relief character in George that did call out the fact that it's laughable that Goldilocks and the three bears are trying to kill them the film doesn't go all the way with as as it would have been more fun to see the characters act like how they do in a the original 1837 Robert Southey story only you put more of a darkly comedic twist to it as then the characters personalities become heightened enough that it becomes funny and there still true to how they written in the third and most famous version of the story as here the characters are all acting super serious and because of that what should have been a slasher comedy film is instead played straight and the film looses all the potential that it had to be a fun film because of it when going the opposite route would have made the film more entertaining to watch and while yes granted it wouldn't have fixed literally any of the films issues it would then say that the makers of the film knew what kind of film that they were making and so they just had fun with it where as here it comes across as the makers of the film wanting to make a more serious slasher film without realizing that the villains of the films are kids characters with that idea alone making it more funny then what it ended up being as what we ended up is a boring film that to be frank really isn't all that fun of a film to watch when it should have been alot more fun due to it's villains alone.

Even films like Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare knew to be different enough from horror films that it can stand out on it's own. Where as this film is far to focused on hitting all of the tired horror tropes that you can see them all coming away and because of that it makes this film comes across as being predictable when the film should have been trying to do something new and different but because of the fact that the makers of this film were more focused on having a bunch of well known characters as there villains that the whole film comes across as being tired and cliched and yet even tho Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare was also boring alot of the time the makers of that film were at least willing to listen to what the fans of the Blood And Honey films wanted where as the makers of this film won't get that chance as there's no way there going to be making a sequel to this film this is despite the fact that this film literally just ends with the main villain Goldilocks not even being killed off the very thing that you'd expect to happen in a slasher film and even if it did get a sequel there's no way that they can continue the story of this film as it was all wrapped up by the film came to a stop and while the makers of this film do get some small credit for at the very least going out there and actually making a film they still failed to do even the most basic of film making tricks to make the film actually good in the first place which means that all wen end up with is a film that we know where it's going to go from the very first frame of the film with the film going to those exact places in the exact same way that's been done in other and better horror films something that Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare really didn't do all that much.

As with all of these films that have a classic kids character as there main villain where this film really does falls to pieces is the fact that it's characters just aren't that interesting or well written for that matter. As none of this films characters have absolutely nothing interesting about them whatsoever they start something with the blonde haired girl having a dream about what happens at the end of the movie but the film does nothing with it and doesn't even mention it at all all throughout the movie which makes it a pointless thing to set up in the first place with all of this films characters at best being one dimensional characters and at worst just flat out being dull and boring characters to watch in this film as the blonde Kelly has about as much personality as a grain of sand and George he tries to the clown of the group but isn't given anything that's actually funny to say or do and the rest of the films characters just fall into the background apart from Simon and maybe Jas and that's really it with all of this films characters being the kind of characters that you'll forget about five minuets after you've seen the film so say what you will about the Blood And Honey films but they at the very least tried to make characters that you might remember and here's hoping that Popeye The Slayerman does that as well as just counting on the fact that your main villain is a beloved childrens character doesn't mean that you have to slack of in other aspects of the film as all that does is make the makers of this film and other films like this seem like lazy people who are only made there movies so that they try can try and make some easy money without actually putting in the work to make something that alot of people will actually like and possibly even enjoy as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty two minuets and twenty eight seconds. Which to be fair is pretty much the exact grand total running time that all of these films seem to have with this film not even having the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time as this film only has enough plot to cover about twenty minuets if that with this film not even using its running time all that wisely as literally nothing about this film is explained at all so we don't get to find why Goldilocks is wearing a mask nor do we get to find out why the three bears are literally people in costumes nor do we get to find out why the main character of the film had a dream about the end of the film with this not really being helped by the fact that this film doesn't even develop any of it's characters as all of this films characters are just bland characters who just do things because the plot of the film demands that they do it and we don't even get a good look at the films villains to will past the TWENTY minuet mark of the film and even then the first kill of the film doesn't come to well past the FORTY minuet mark which is always going to be a bad sign as now we are forced to stay with these characters that the film gives us no reason to care whatsoever with the film not even using that time to make give us a reason to care for them or develop them in such a way that we do end up caring for them for all the while the film tries and fails to build up suspense for the characters that we actually want to see in the film but I really will admit that this film really doesn't have good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho this films weren't all that good either. As while we do get to see some impressive looking make up effects for this films tiny budget the actual kills themselves just oddly feel tame in comparison to other films like this one where the kills are usually highlight of the film and given who the killers are meant to be in this film and the fact that all of the killers have there own unique weapon it would have been fun to see have them kill of these characters in rather unique and disturbing ways but for one reason or another the film just plays it safe by having the characters either be burned to death by having boiling hot porridge dumbed on there faces or just being shot in the head and while the porridge kills does work as it does play into the original story it would have been more fun if we saw more kills that played into the original story as that at the very least would be putting a uniquely dark spin on the original Goldilocks story but for one reason or another the makers of this film chose not go that route and instead all we get is a bunch of kills that are just tame when they should have been alot more extreme and fun to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it doesn't really need saying but this film is just so bad this isn't a film that could recommended to people who love bad movies or horror films as there's nothing of value to be found in this film with this film not even being so bad that it's good it's just a flat out bad film that isn't even entertaining in the slightest way possible as that's just how bad that this film really is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good an as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 2 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Freddy Vs. Jason Film Review

Versus battles are always fun to think about as it's never not going to be fun thinking about which character would beat who in a fight and with there being a ton of horror icons out there it only made sense that one of those battles feature two of the biggest horror icons from the eighties. With this battle being one that has been wanted by the people who love these characters since the late eighties and well then in 2002 we got exactly that and so then join me as I review the film that was the last time that horror iconic Robert Englund appeared as Freddy Krueger in a film with the film in question being called simply just "Freddy Vs. Jason" enjoy.

The plot of this film after years of being fed up of being forgotten about by the people of Elm Street Freddy Krueger resurrects Jason Voorhees to start killing teens on Elm Street and with a bunch of teens caught in the middle it's only a matter of time before these two titans of terror set there sights on each other. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as they dud a good job of setting up why these two slasher villains want to fight each other in a way that does feel true to both of there characters but at the same time tho this films plot doesn't really do any of them justice as it just feels like a by the numbers plot from one of the latter A Nightmare On Elm Street sequels then it does something that makes us excited to see play out regardless of if either Freddy or Jason are on screen or not and while the main focus of the film is rather understandably on both of those characters that doesn't mean that the plot of the film had to be weak as the makers of this film could and should have put alot more effort into giving a good plot regardless of either character is on screen or not and while the plot that we got wasn't that bad it also wasn't all that good either with the plot of the film being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger , Ken Kirzinger as Jason Voorhees and Monica Keena as Lori Campbell. Also starring in this film is Kelly Rowland as Kia Waterson , Jason Ritter as Will Rollins , Chris Marquette as Charlie Linderman , Lochlyn Munro as Deputy Scott Stubbs , Katharine Isabelle as Gibb Smith , Brendan Fletcher as Mark Davis , Zack Ward as Bobby Davis , Kyle Labine as Bill Freeburg , Chris Gauthier as Shack , David Kopp as Blake , Jesse Hutch as Trey Cooper , Tom Butler as Dr. Campbell , Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins star Garry Chalk as Sheriff Williams and Paula Shaw as Pamela Voorhees.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With all of this films actors turning in some really good performances which given that alot of them aren't that really well known is kind of surprising but in a good way as you don't usually expect good performances from little to unknown actors and yet that's exactly what we got in this film and even Katharine Isabelle who we all know now to be this horror icon wasn't that well known when this film was first being released and yet she steals all of the scenes that she's in be it when she's being dramatic or when she has an over the top line delivery it's something that really does work for that character and while no one will ever be able to top Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees Ken Kirzinger is passable in the role as while he does lack the physicality that Hodder brought to the role he does have a slight menace about him that works for this film with the best actor in this whole entire film being of course Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger who is just simply a joy to watch in this film with this films acting really being not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be the in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Cinesite , Pixel Magic , Digital Dimension Entertainment Group , Asylum VFX , Digiscope and Yannix Technology Corporation. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as it does look decent in some places but yeah for alot of the time tho this films CGI does look really bad and hasn't really aged all that well granted it does look alot more better then the CGI that's in the A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010 remake but even that's not really saying all that much but to this films credit they do only use CGI to create things that you couldn't do practically like having Freddy's shadow grow and attack Blake near the start of the film or having Freddy transformed into a slug near the end of the film both of which are cases where CGI was needed because of the fact that there's no way that you could do either shot practically but at the same time tho it would have been nice if the film did have some practical effects that harkened back to those early films instead of relying so much on CGI that was always going to look dated where as if they went the practical route alot of the time it would have been seen as timeless and would really have added a timeless quality to the film as well and yet because of the fact that the makers of this film did add in extremely bad looking CGI that looked good for the time all it does is make this film seem really dated.

While this film does have the main villains from both A Nightmare On Elm Street ad Friday The 13th it's more of a continuation of Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday. As this film picks up pretty much where that film left off with it being reveled why we saw Freddy's glove at the end of that movie and while that might service the fandom for those movies those who like the Nightmare On Elm Street movies don't really get anything outside of a few clips being shown at the start and end of the movie and a few few nods and winks to A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and that's really it and heck to use wrestling terminology here the film presents Jason as the babyface of the film while Freddy Krueger is undoubtedly the heel of the film while yes Jason does do alot more of the killing then Freddy does it's done in service of Freddy and not because of the fact that it's something that he wants to do and if the film wanted to have both characters be on equal footing which is something that they really should have done then they should have had both characters get an equal amount of kills before turning there sights on each other and not have Freddy get alot less kills then Jason as all that does is make it look like that the makers of this film were favoring Jason when both killers should have been treated equally and have the same amount of threat and kills as each other and yet because they don't it makes Freddy look less effective and Jason look more effective when it comes to getting more kills in this film which is something that makes alot of sense when you take into account that long time Friday the 13th producer Sean S. Cunningham is also a producer on this movie.

Incase any of you are wondering if this film effects the continuity of either film it really doesn't with it being made clear as day that this film ignores the events of Jason X and ignores the events of Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Which basically means that Jason isn't going into outer space any time soon and while Freddy does talk to the camera alot in this movie he doesn't do anything other then that which to be honest might be for the best as if you tried to incorporate everything from both films and try to fit this film into the continuity of both films as well then you end up with a film that would be a complete and total mess where as here since all there doing is ignoring the events of two movies it does kind of streamline the continuity a little bit and make it easier for none fans of either character to follow along with and choose who they want to win in the end as well and while yes it would have been nice to see them use characters from either film outside of the main killers and Pamela Voorhees that might be pushing it a bit to much not only for the people who didn't grow up with these movies but also for the people who don't usually watch slasher of even horror movies for that matter but are only watching this film because of the fact that the hype for this movie was so good and it's those people that the makers do have to think about as well which is a shame as picturing Tommy Jarvis talking to either Nancy or Alice is more then enough to get die hard horror fans excited about seeing this movie but rather understandably this film is set with in it's timeline with only a few things from either franchise being carried over.

What does let this film is the fact that the main characters just aren't that interesting as all of them feel more like characters that would only work on a teen drama. With this films characters also just screaming 2000's horror as these are the kinds of characters that you would find in alot of horror films from around the time that this film was being released with none of them having nothing that makes them all that interesting and while on paper Lori as the main character should work as she does have alot going for her given the fact that Freddy did kill her mum in the past it's that very thing that makes no sense as Freddy should have been so weak that we he wouldn't be able to kill anyone something that we saw in this film but nope apparently he was able to kill this one person's mother instead of doing smart like going after Alice or his own daughter for that matter with Lori as a character not really working because of the fact that the makers of the film give her no personality where as if you look at say Kristen or Alice or even Nancy for that matter they all have clear cut personalities that work well enough not only for the films in which they appear in but for there respective characters as well where as Lori along with all of her friends have no personality and therefor what could have been a really cool protagonist for this film instead comes of as being someone who is trying to hard to be really cool and like Nancy when she should have been more focused on just being a really good character in the first place.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one four and thirty seven minuets and sixteen seconds. Which is pretty much the bogstanderd running time for both the A Nightmare On Elm Street and the Friday The 13th films as well with this film having just the right amount of plot there to really cover this amount of running time however tho this film really doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as instead of developing it's plot and characters to the point where we as an audience actually like the characters and want to see them survive the film the makers of this film instead give alot of there attention to both Freddy and Jason which again is something that does make alot of sense as it's there names in the title of the movie and it's them that the audience is going to see however tho at the same time without a good plot and good supporting characters it really doesn't matter how well done those two characters are because of the fact that the audience just won't care and if the audience doesn't care then you've already lost the battle because in order for not only this film but alot of horror films to work you have to care as much about the protagonist as you do about the villain and while we the audience have several other films to form a connection to both Freddy and Jason with these new characters we only have this one film and if you can't make us care about them then why should we care about the rest of the film as at that point all we're left doing is waiting for a bunch of a characters that we don't care about to get killed of so that the characters that we do care about and want to see more off can take centre stage but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. As both Freddy and Jason do get some really good kills in in this film but oddly enough it's Jason that gets more kills when it's something that should have been alot more evenly split as this would make both killers more effective and while the two kills that Freddy Mark Davis and Bill Freeburg are some decent kills there not going to top the great kills that Jason has just because of the fact that Jason has alot more kills in this film then what Freddy does and while Freddy does have alot more off screen kills none of those kills are any good as there off screen or are only mentioned and never actually seen with the best kill in the whole entire movie being a three way tie between the Trey death scene where Jason not only stabs him at the very least two dozen times but then folds up the bed that he lying on with him still on it , the raver scene where Jason kills several people including an unconscious Gibb who was about to be killed by Freddy or the final fight between Freddy and Jason does play out alot like a a no disqualification wrestling match and to be frank any of those kills could rightfully make the claim of being the best kill in this movie as all of three of them are just that good in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this movie is a decent send off film for actor Robert Englund it's also not the best send off for his version of the Freddy Krueger character as the film doesn't do the character any kind of justice but at the same time tho it is a film that gives you exactly what you've came to see and isn't afraid of being exactly what it is and that's being nothing more then a dumb horror film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thigs that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

The Little Mermaid 2024 Film Review

We are now officially living in an age where every character that you all loved as a child is now getting turned into a horror villain. With there being a small handful of Winnie The Pooh based horror movies , a large handful of Popeye horror movies and countless Mickey Mouse horror movies well now we have another one to add to that list as while the original book has been in the public domain for some time now it's taken until now for there for there to be a horror film based off of The Little Mermaid and so then join me as I review the film that is more based off of Disney's take on the book then the actual Hans Christian Anderson novel itself with the film in question being called simply just "The Little Mermaid" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when on a dig in the Caribbean archaeologist Dr. Eric Prince uncovers something far more sinister then what he thought possible. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally tought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time tho this films plot wasn't all that good either as it is a tad bit on the weak side of things with it being quite hard to tell what the actual plot of this film is even meant to be alot of the time but when the film does focus in on it's plot that's when the film no only show promise but actually gets good as one of the things that these types of horror movies don't do is do something new and interesting with either there plot or there characters and that's something that this film doe do from a plot point of view as they don't go with the stereotypical setting that you'd expect to find in a film like this but at the same time tho the films plot isn't as good as it really good have been either with the plot of the film not getting alot of focus this is despite it being one of the things that makes this film borderline good and yet the film doesn't give it the focus that it deserves and yet if the film did give this plot alot more focus and more screen time then the plot of this film would also be a alot more better then it already really is with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Mike Markoff as Dr. Eric Prince , Lydia Helen as Aurora Bey and Jeff Denton as Ferdinand Ashley. Also starring in this film is Sean-Michael Argo as Sebastian , Samuel Selman as Archie and Thomas Downey as Old Gregg. While it might look like that this film has a really short cast list it really doesn't it's just that the only actors listed are the only ones that re playing named characters with the rest of this films actors including the one played by this film co-writer , director and editor Leigh Scott also isn't named as well.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as it is this kind of acting that you'd expect to see in a film like this one. However at the same time tho this films acting isn't all that good as it's the exact same kind of acting that you'd expect to see in a film like this one and really nothing more then that which is something that does make alot of sense as all of this films actors are a bunch of unknowns and as a result of that is the fact that it really would be foolish to expect a good or even great performance from them in this film with all of this films actors being nothing more then passable at best which for these kinds of horror movies where the main attraction is seeing a beloved childrens characters turned into a horror villain having passable acting in one of these films is a nothing short of a good thing with it being cleat as day that whist Leigh Scott might be a decent writer director and editor then one thing that he is not good at is being a good writer as he does manage to get some really passable performances out of all of his actors with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

One of the many things that this film does gave in common with other horror films like this one is the fact that it's very poorly done characters. With none of this films characters having anything about them that makes them memorable or even stand out for that matter as there all just very bland characters that feel more like a first pass at writing a good character then something that you'd actually expect to find in the final draft of the films script as all pf this films characters really could have done so much more better then they were in the final cut of the film as all of this films whilst they are likable characters they don't have anything there that informs us the audience of just who they are as characters as how they act and how they written in this film could belong to any of the films other characters and isn't something that's exclusive to any one character which is something that really does make it harder for us the audience to form a connection with any of this films characters be it in or good or bad way which does make it hard for us the audience to route for the good guys and boo the villains as when the film gets to final act there's nothing to distinguish friend from foe out of the fact that we are meant to cheer for one character because there the goo guy and are meant to boo Aurora because of the fact that she's this films main villain and that's really it and that's nothing that creates good characters but with this films putting more of a focus on the fact that it's a horror version of Disney The Little mermaid then it in creating good characters this is something that we should be expecting at this point in time.

As was mentioned at the start of this review this film is basically a horror version of Disney's The Little Mermaid. Even down to having two of the character names from that film be the names of characters in this film heck all they had to was make this film a musical and that's what it basically would have been and it's something that would have gone down just as well as the 2023 version of Disney's The Little Mermaid as well if the makers of this film wanted to create an original tale for these characters then what they should have done is gone back the original source material and adapt that book as you very easily could have made a more twisted version of that story in this film instead of just playing it safe and copying alot of what Disney did as all that does is make the makers of this film look lazy but given that the most famous version of this story is the one created by the house of mouse of course that's the version that's going to he getting alot of love when it comes to people who are making there versions cheap and quick as it means that half the work is already done for them when it would have helped there film quite alot of they told a more dark and twisted version of the original book as that would have been similar enough for it to pass of as a horror film that's based off of a Disney character but also different and unique enough because of the fact that it's based off of the original source material and not any of the Disney films and heck if they did make a more dark and twisted version of the book then they could even have a version of the books more sadder ending instead of the more upbeat and happy ending present in either Disney film.

To this films credit it doesn't go the typical route that these films do tend to go in and make the villain a slasher villain. As here the main villain of this film is more of a supernatural thriller type of villain which is something that does fit in with her character but at the same time tho it does mean that the makers of this film couldn't go all in with how fun a film like this one really could have been as while you couldn't outright make this film a horror comedy like you could have done with literally any of the Mickey Mouse based horror movies that doesn't mean that this film couldn't be fun as that's the one thing that this film is lacking as it's not that fun of a film to watch when just by going off of the idea of having a Little Mermaid themed horror film does open itself up to being a pretty fun filled film as there are so many ways that you could take the story even the Disney one and just have fun with it and yet because of the fact that the makers of this film chose not to make this film rally all that fun to watch in the first place then it can make what should have been  fun film to watch instead feel boring and lifeless as there's no reason to go and watch this film outside of the novelty of seeing The Little Mermaid told through the eyes of a horror film and given just how many different horror films that there that are doing the same thing with different characters that's not something that's going to get the audience back in for a repeat viewing of the movie as the audience for these movies is starting to get smart and starting to see them for exactly what they are and that's cheap and soulless cash grabs of a free to use IP and that's really all there is to it.

To this films credit it does try to do something unpredictable and that's try to switch up the lead male character of the movie. Which is a solid thing to try to attempt to do but the issue stems from the fact that neither male character in this movie has much in the way of personality outside of the fact that one of them is in love with Aurora and the other isn't in love with with Aurora and that's really it which makes the idea of trying to switch out who is the main make character pointless as there's really nothing to to make either character stand apart from one another which is something that you really need to do if your intention is to something like that otherwise all your left doing is replacing one one dimensional characters with one dimensional character and that's really it and all that ends up ding is making your audience confused as to why you tried to do something like that in the first place if you wanted to do something like that then what the makers of this film should have is make both Eric and Ferdinand actually likable characters with distinct personalities that are complete and polar opposites of each other as then it would make alot of sense when Eric falls for Aurora and Ferdinand doesn't and yet by not doing that all this film is doing is making it self look lazy and stupid for trying to do something cool and interesting but failing in putting in the actual effort needed to make such an idea work in the first place when an idea like this one really does need alot of work put into it in order to make it work and that's something that these films just don't do nor should they ever do when they can get by just by having a beloved children's character being the main villain of the movie.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty eight minuets and forty six seconds. Which to be fair to this films credit it really doesn't need any longer then that in order to tell it's story as the film has more then enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time but at the same time tho this film really doesn't use it's running tm all that wisely at all as the plot of the film is barely focused on and thought out all that well with it coming across as random things just happening for the sake of them happening and that's really it with this films characters not even being thought out and fully developed either with all of them even the titular villain being forgettable at best with all of them having the personality of a piece of paper and heck even the romance between Eric and Aurora isn't that well done either as the two of them share no romantic chemistry together and while that might be be the point as she's only using him to help her destroy the world for some reason there still needed to be some effort into creating a believable romance as that's something that Aurora would need to do in order to make her plan work and yet because of the fact that the actors don't have any kind of romantic chemistry with each other the whole film just falls in on it's self with alot of these issues being things that could have been fixed if the film not only had a much more better script to it but also had a slightly longer running time as well as that would mean that the makers of this film could devote some screen to developing both the plot of the characters as well but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual scares that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual scares that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad but at the same time they weren't that good either. As the film does rely more on tension to give us the scares which is a good thing as it means that things can get creepier and scarier more naturally instead of having the music telling us when to be scared but at the same time tho all of this films scares come from very poorly done jump scares and while having a jump scare in a horror film is great every once in a while you still do need to have verity of scares in there just to keep your audience guessing and awake and when you the only type of scare that you have in your film is the same one but done over and over again then your audience will not only see the scares coming a mile away but that they'll also get bored of them pretty quickly and while the film does have some really impressive gore effects even for what would have been a really small budget those aren't enough to make the film scary and while they are enough to get your audience back and interested in your film it's not enough to make your scares actually scary as for that you need to have some actually really good scares in your film and that's something that this film is very sorely missing out on in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this film is quite easily better then Mouse Of Horrors and The Mouse Trap as this film does at lest try to do something with new with the IP and characters that there adapting to this format it's still a pretty film in it's own right albeit one that actually has alot of potential to improve should the makers of this film choose to make a follow up film that is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all o the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 4.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Disney fandom wiki page , Tenor and Google Images.

Night Of The Dead Sorority Babes Film Review

Thousands of horror films are made and released every single year and sadly this film is one of them and as is apparently the trend of horror films this year it's not that good. With this film being one that not alot of you would have known and heck until a few short days ago I myself didn't even know about this movie and now watching I wish I still didn't know about this movie and so then join me as I review the film that lets you know right away just from it's title just how really bad that this movie is really going to be with the film in question being called simply just "Night Of The Dead Sorority Babes" enjoy.

The plot of this film is several college girl all find themselves wanting to join a sorority house only to discover that the house has a dark and sinister secret. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really bad with this films plot being laughably bad and just really dumb but not dumb in the same way that the Fast & Furious movies are dumb movies as nothing regarding this films plot not only doesn't work but it also doesn't make a whole lot of sense either with all of these girls all of which do seemingly go to the same college and yet when there at the sorority that there meant to be trying to join not only is there know college building in sight whatsoever but there the only girl that show up neither of which raises a red flag for any of these characters which would be fine if this was a comedy as then you could say that it's meant to be making fun of horror movies but it's not as it plays everything straight and that is something that does make this films feel all the more worse then that it actually is as now it just makes the writers of this film seem lazy as they know there not writing a good movie but can't be bothered to fix it with the plot of this film not really being really rather entertaining and as well not rally being really rather engaging either in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Jessa Flux as Veronica Harper , Lynn Lowry as Kimberly Blake and this film co-director Angel Nichole Bradford as Blair Layne. Also starring in this film is Kelsey Livengood as Lucy Livengood , Anna Clary as Megan Anderson , Mel Heflin as Bambi Hamilton , Ashleigh Amberlynn as Victoria Vanderwall , Mia Katz as Roxie Spark , Samantha Hupp as Tiffany Hudson , Miranda Kilpatrick as Lilly , Ashley Hefner as Lex , Trisha Nicole Bagby as Sarah and Ann Myrna as Angelica Grace.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just as bad as you'd think that it would be. Which is something that does make sense for this film as all of this films actors aren't that well known actors in the first place and as such it would have been foolish to expect good or even great acting from tis films actors but when you don't even give us passable acting then you can tell right away that the film is in trouble as it's clear as day that this films co-directors Angel Nichole Bradford and Steve Hermann really do have no idea how to direct there actors with all of the actors in this film feeling lost and unsure of what performance to give something that makes this even more worse is the fact that Steve Hermann also wrote the script for the film so you'd think that he'd know the characters better then most and tell his actors what kind of performance to give but it's clear as day that the co-directors and the actors just didn't talk to each the at all with the acting that's in this film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there respective characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does hurt the over all quality of the acting that's in this very film.

In what is an understandable move this film doesn't really have that high of a production value as the film was crowd funded through IndieGoGo. So this film was never going to have that high of a production value to it anyway as it does look like that they only raised just enough money to cover the makeup effects budget and not enough to cover anything else as alot of this films actors are actually pulling double duty with alot of them doing work behind the camera as well as in front of it which is a great way to save money and to this films credit it's the behind the camera stuff that looks better then what was put n infront of the camera as the special effects make up doesn't look that bad for what is a really small independent horror film and given this films incredibly small budget the cinematography doesn't look half bad but even with all o that in mind the makers of this film could have done alot of work to make sure that the film did have a higher production value then what it actually had as that is something that would make the film look so much more better then what it does as right now the film looks like every single low budget independent horror film ever made when adding to the films production value would only serve to make the film stand out as everything about this film does look cheap which again is something that's understandable given just hoe this film was funded in the first place but this is film that should have looked alot more better as the people infront of the camera are quite clearly far more talent behind th camera then they are infront of it.

Much like Saw this film is based off of a short film with the short film being called Sorority Babes but unlike Saw which either added or replaced actors from the short film. This film actually kept not only alot of the crew but also alot of the actors as well with alot of the actors even playing the same characters that they played in the short film but unlike Saw where the makers actually took the chance to improve upon what they had started in the short film here it seems like that the makers of this film just doubled down on what they did in the short film and didn't bother to expand upon or fix any issues that they had with the short film which only serves to make the makers of this film even more lazier then what they already are as now they've had the chance to fix any issues with the short film and make them better for the feature film adaptation and yet they openly chose not to when instead what they should have been doing is taking the time to fix any issues that the first film had instead of just doing nothing and assuming that the short film is perfect as just based off of this film that's not going to be the case whatsoever as no film short film or not is without fault as alot film makers know as alot of then do take the chance to fix things that made the original work not as good as they wanted it to be like for example with the second Blood And Honey film where the makers of that film took on board all of the criticism that the fans gave them in the first film and showed that they learned there lesson by applying them to the second film something that the makers of this film quite clearly didn't do or just straight up didn't want to do.

To say that this film main characters are bad characters would be like saying that Scooby-Doo is a dog as yeah this films character are just that bad. With the film not even bothering to give any of the main girls any sort of personality outside of the one trait that they display when there being interrogated by Roxy at the start of the movie and that's really it and while that might be enough for a short film it's damned near not enough for a feature length film as all of the main characters just have the same personalities with one of them being the dumb one of the group and we also have the smart one , the tough one , the b*tch and the h*rny one and none of them ever stray from that one personality trait every and heck we even have the very rarely seen personality type of the quite or shy one of the group with the makers of this film not even bothering to go into who these characters are as people something that they couldn't really do in the short film as there they had only a short amount of time to tell a story and get some kills in so it's forgivable in that format they didn't give the characters much in the way of personalities but now that it's a in a feature length film then the makers of this film really should have taken the time to fully flesh out if not all then at least some of it's main characters as then it would make the characters seem more like fully formed and thought out characters instead of being the one dimensional cardboard cut out characters that they actually are and yet because of the fact that this films writers are just lazy writers we end up with a bunch of characters that are going to be forgotten about in ten minuets in a film that's going to forgotten about in fifteen minuets.

For some strange reason the makers of this film thought it was a good idea to have some sort of mystery angel in it. Only they forgot to do one silly little thing and that's create and actually good mystery as the film tries to have a mystery going about how hurt this one girl at the start of the movie and yet when these two elder ladies come on screen it's painfully obvious that it's them as they just look evil and the film really doesn't do anything to try and hide that fact by giving us red herrings or even try to throw us the sent something which with the amount of characters that they have in the film is something that really could have done and while the film does get some credit for at least trying to do something different with the slasher genre by adding the supernatural in it the film does nothing with either the mystery angel that it's trying to do or the supernatural element that helps to make it stand out from all pf the other slasher films out there all of which combine to make both of those aspects of the film feel rather undercooked when instead those are the elements that should have gotten alot more focus and attention as they do help the film come at least somewhat more interesting then what it actually is and while yes granted there have been other slasher films that have had a supernatural element to them but there's not enough of them and so for us the audience it can still be considered and it's something that this film had the chance to do right and it's the same thing with the films mystery aspect as well as the film just straight up drops t an never mentions it again after it's pretty poorly done cold open and then expects you to remember who that character is at the end of the film.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty minuets and one second. Which is pretty much the exact bogstanderd running time for all of these low budget slasher films with this film not really even having enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time either as being realistic here this film really only has enough plot there for about forty five minuets if that with this films plot being stretched thin by pointless scenes with the main characters where all they do is just get across there one character trait from the start movie and nothing really more then that thus goes without saying but this film really doesn't even use it's expanded running time all that wisely either as it doesn't give the main hero characters any kind of development or anything that makes them interesting or even likable for that matter where as the main villains of the film get one scene where they get across there backstory and why there doing what there doing and that's really it as even they aren't given anything in regards to a personality compare this to something like A Nightmare On Elm Street another supernatural themed slasher film with a strikingly similar running time and yet the makers of that film still managed to give there main villain Freddy Krueger tons of personality and yet the makers of this film couldn't even do that for that villains in this film which is something that really does make the makers of this film seem lazy but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very fil well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty the best aspect of the film. As it's clear as day that this is were alot of the effort went when it came to making this film as this films kills whilst there not the most creative of kills as alot of the tike it does boil to someone being stabbed with a kitchen knife when the film does lean into it's supernatural aspect in it's kills that's when they get to be the most fun and creative to see in this film as we get see these to elder women do some damage to our main heroes in really creative ways but here's the thing tho because of the fact that the makers of this film haven't given us the audience a reason to care about it's main characters even surviving the film then how we are meant to feel anything when they get killed of a in a really brutal as if you want us the audience to actually feel something literally anything for these characters then you have to make us care for them and make us want to see them survive and make us want to see more of them and yet they and while the best kill of the film is quite easily the one where the shall we say bigger of the girls gest killed with the elder women take a picture of her and just move there fingers across the picture thus creating a scar on the head in the same way that it was done in the photograph which is a to be frank a really creative kill and is quite easily the best kill in this whole entire movie as it's just that creative of a kill in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall if you have the chance to see this film do NOT take it as there's nothing of value to be gained from watching this film as it's just that bad and while the makers of this film do indeed get credit for at the very least having the courage to go out there and make an actual movie they still needed to have made a movie that's actually good and not something that is actually worse then Mouse Of Horrors was in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 2.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Twisted Childhood Universe fandom wiki page , Tenor , IMP Awards .

Shiver Me Timbers 2025 Film Review

For some weird reason young horror filmmakers are obsessed with turning Popeye into a slasher villain as this is now the third slasher film ...
