Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers Film Review

With this review being written on Halloween night itself I wanted to take a look at a film that I really haven't seen until now. Which was something that proved to be alot more harder then first thought however there was something that made this film jump out and made me want to talk about it that being the overtly campy nature of the film itself and so then join me as I review the film that featured The Boss's sister in the lead role with the film in question being called simply just "Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers" enjoy.

The plot of this film is a few years after the events of the first film Angela has a job at a camp working as a camp counsellor when she decides to start a new killing spree. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with this films plot being campy and over the top but in a way that's fun and in a way that lets you know that the makers of this films know full well just what kind of film that there making and because of that they just have fun with it with that being something that comes through in the films plot as while yes it is very firmly a typical summer camp slasher film but it's what the film does with those elements that makes the films plot one that's fun to see as we have all of the elements that you'd expect to see from a summer camp clasher film only now they have a killer that the audience likes and while yes granted this films plot might not be the strongest plot out there but given that that also could be true for both the original and it's sequels it is something that does fit right at home with this film and while this is a plot that could also be seen as being pretty bad and people would have every right for thinking that as the plot isn't all that good either if you look at this film for what it is and are able to take this films plot for exactly what it is then there's a whole lot of fun to be had with this films plot with the plot of the film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Pamela Springsteen as Angela Johnson / Angela Baker and Renée Estevez as Molly Nagle. Also starring in this film is Anthony Higgins as Sean Whitmore , Valerie Hartman as Ally , Brian Patrick Clarke as T.C. , Susan Marie Snyder as Mare , Terry Hobbs as Rob Darrinco , Kendall Bean as Demi , Julie Murphy as Lea , Carol Chambers as Brooke Shote , Amy Fields as Jodi Shote , Benji Wilhoite as Anthony , Walter Franks III as Judd , Justin Nowell as Charlie , Heather Binion as Phoebe , Jason Ehrlich as Emilio , Carol Martin Vines as Diane and The Spy Who Loved Me star Walter Gotell as Uncle John.

Now then inters of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. Which was something that was quite surprising as all but one of this films actors are known actors and therefor it would have been really foolish to expect good or even great acting from this films actor and while this films acting isn't OSCAR worthy by any stretch of the imagination it's also alot more better then what it really had any right to be as by all rights this films acting should have been really bad and while it's not as a good as the acting in the first film was it's still really good in it's own right with all of this films actors really nailing their roles and having alot of fun with what little character that they all had to work with in the first place with the best actor in the whole entire film being Pamela Springsteen as Angela Johnson / Angela Baker as she not only had the toughest job out all of this films actors as she had to copy what Felissa Rose did with the exact same character but she also had to make it her own and given her very limited acting experience at the time that is something that must have been hard to do and yet she pulls it off so well with her even helping to make the character of Angela likable in this film with the acting that's in this very film not really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so bad as it gives none of this films actors absolutely nothing to work with interms of what it is that there actual characters personalities are even meant to be in the first place which is something that really does harm the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Much like alot of the slasher films from the late eighties this one also has alot of really paper thin characters in it. Which it very well could be argued is also apart of the films charm as slot of summer camp slasher films also do have paper thin characters as well and to this films credit it does make good use of those characters abut at the same time there should have been just as much effort into making the other characters standout as there was into making sure that Angela stood out from all of the horror icons out there as all of the characters apart from Angela do start to bend into one another as they don't have anything that makes them standout from each other which is something that really does make it hard for us the audience to like these characters even tho we are meant to want to see them survive the film which does mean that we end up cheering more for Angela as she's the only character that has something in the way of a personality with the other one that's close to having a personality being Angela's best friend in the film Molly and even then Molly isn't all that interesting of a character as she's just the typical final girl type of character only she has nothing added to her character that makes her feel unique with this being something that the makers of this film really could have done and given that they filmed both this film and it's sequel quite literally back to back then they could have had Molly come back for the sequel to kind of by this franchises version of the Tommy Jarvis or Nancy Thompson character and give the attention that she really did need character wise but as it is she feels like the waste of a good character as she has all of the potential there to be a good character and heck even Renée Estevez does her best with the character but there still needed to be that little extra something there to make her a better more well rounded character in the film.

Like alot of the slasher films from the late eighties this film also leaned more into dark comedy with this film going one step further then that by adding an element of camp to the film as well. As while Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and alot of the later Jason Voorhees movies had that dark comedy element in them they never got that campy in those films and yet here they fully embrace the fact that it's dark comedy by not only having Angela sing this overly happy and cheesy camp song but also by having her spout what can best be described as James Bond-esque one liners both during and after alot of the films kills al of which do make this film alot more campy in tone then what we got in the first film which took he same idea as this film but played in entirely straight with the change in tone really working well for this film as the first film was all about building up tension and making us guess just who the killer was going to be but this film doesn't have to do that due to the fact that it's a sequel and so it just has alot more fun with it's premise and with it's killer and while yes granted this film would have worked just as well if it didn't have that campy tone to it it also wouldn't have made the film all the more memorable either as it would then fall in with all of the rest of the summer camp slasher films that came out in the eighties and yet by giving the film this campy tone yes it doesn't improve the quality of the film by any stretch of the imagination it also makes the film alot more memorable to watch as well but there's also something to be said for the film playing every straight as it could be argued that by doing that it would make the film both more scarier and more funnier as well.

This film is actually quite rare for a slasher film not that it's hard to find or anything like that but what makes it rare is that both parts 2 and 3 for this film were shot back to back. With there only being a WEEKEND break between finishing filming this film and starting filming on the third film this is something that really hasn't been done in a slasher film both before this film came out and after it came out just due to the fact that unlike say a comic book movie where you have that natural cut off point in the film you can't really have a slasher film where not only alot of the main characters make it out alive but so does the killer as that's not what happens in a slasher film and so you have to have that time inbetween the filming of one movie and the start of filming the sequel and while there was a practical reason for this as the director of both films Michael A. Simpson wanted to keep the budget for the films under one million American dollars he very easily could have done that anyway as these films aren't by there very nature expensive films to make as you very easily could have made this film for around about three hundred thousand dollars and still get the same quality of effects out of it and then waited a good month or two to then begin working on developing the third film in the series instead of just filming the two films back to back as all that does is end up tiring your cast and crew something which does show in that film as Pamela Springsteen does look to be really tired in that film and when you've just filmed two movies over the course of six weeks that will tire anyone out young or old and yet for one reason or another the makers of this film thought that it was a good idea to film to films back to back even tho that now means that one of the films does suffer due to the fact that the makers of the film just aren't able to give it there full attention.

As was mentioned at several points in this film this film makes Angela a really likable character by only having her kill people that have either wronged her personally or that go against her strong moral code. Which is something that does make her a likable character as the only characters that go against that moral code are characters that aren't really all that likable in the first place and yet the film still wants to boo Angela and cheer for the other characters even tho there the ones that are doing and saying things that they know will get her made granted they don't know that she's a killer but it's still something that makes them really unlikable characters with the only time that Angela becomes somewhat unlikable is when she tries to kill her friend in the film Molly after Molly escapes the house the cabin that Angela left her tied up in and that's really it but by that point we the audience have already decided which of the two characters that we like more and it's Molly as she has nothing interesting or entertaining about her where as with Angela yes she's the films main killer but she's also a really entertaining character who actually has somewhat of a good reason for killing alot of these characters with Angela being this overtly happy character who has grown alot since the first film as she went from someone who barely said a word to someone who in her own words can't shut up and because of that she gets more of a chance to showcase her personality a bit more where she does have this dark and twitsted sense of humor about her but is also someone who wears her heart on her sleeve and takes things really personally and it's those things that help to make her not only a really interesting character but also one that's entertaining and well rounded as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and twenty minuets and seven seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time that you'd expect a film like this to have or rather you would if this film didn't have a pointless flashback scene to earlier scenes in the film that just so happens to be in slow motion as it adds nothing to the plot of the film and is quite literally a filler sequence when the film really didn't need any kind of filler at all as the film has more then enough plot there to really cover that amount of running time in the first place and while the film doesn't use it's running time all that wisely as it doesn't develop its plot all that well if it develop its plot then it wouldn't have needed that pointless flashback scene in the first place as all that does is eat up screen time that would have been better used either developing it's plot or developing it's characters as the films characters really do suffer from this as none of them apart from Angela are that well developed as characters with all of the coming across as being very one dimensional characters but for one reason or another the makers of this film thought that we'd forgotten what happened earlier on in the film and therefor needed reminding when we really didn't but what we did need was the very thing that the makers of this film chose not to give us because of that pointless flashback and that's a well developed plot and well developed characters as those are the things that will make a film good in the first place and while yes the first film didn't have either of those things either there was still an effort to have them in there whereas with this film it's the opposite that's true but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing in it tho.

So now then as this a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With the film having some delightfully over the top kills in it all of which suit the more comedic nature of this film and while for a slasher film this film is rather lacking when it comes to gore what little gore that the film does have in it works really well for this film as it isn't to over the top and is only used very sparingly with the only thing that lets the films kills down is that Pamela Springsteen doesn't really hit people very well with all of her hits seeming really weak with the best kill in the whole entire film the scene where she dresses up to guys both of which are dressed up as Freddy and Jason respectively while Angela herself dresses up as Leatherface with her killing each of the boys in ways that are similar to how both Freddy and Jason would kill there victims with her then completing her Leatherface look by wearing the face of one of the boys which really was something that really does make that kill as simple as it is all the more campy and fun then what it really should have been as by all rights those two kills should have been really dull as all they are is just a pair of throat slashes and that's basically it but because of the fact that the makers of the film leaned heavy into the characters that they were basically parodying it was something that really did make those set of kills fun even in a film that's chock full of really fun filled kills in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall whilst the fist film is quite easily the best one of the franchise this film is perhaps the more entertaining of the films just due to how campy and how over the top that this film can be alot of the time which is something that does make this film one that's really fun to watch in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in tis very film in this very review as such that really does mean that this film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , Amazon  Co . Uk , IMP Awards > Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

My SPOILER FREE First Impressions Of It: Welcome To Derry

Usually when a horror movie becomes so successful that it spawns a TV show the film was nine times out of ten a slasher film. However the same thing cannot be said for this show as it was based on a book and film that are in the supernatural horror genre and yet even so we still have a pretty cool looking first episode with it being proven that Alien: Earth isn't the only good new horror show to be based off of a film and so then join me as I give you MY SPOILER FREE first impressions of the show that takes us back to Derry with the show in question being called simply just "It: Welcome To Derry" enjoy.

The plot of this episode is four months after there friend disappears a group of kids all start hearing the song that he was listening on the day that he disappeared and set out to find there friend once and for all. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good with this episodes plot being a whole lot more better then what it really had any right to be as by all rights this episodes plot should have been the basic set up of the show type of plot and really nothing more then that but nope that's not what we get in this episode infact we know just as much about what the main shows plot is going to be about coming out of the episode then what we did coming into it with the episode really just telling it's own unique plot which was honestly really refreshing to see as now we the audience have more of a reason to check out episode two of this show with the plot of this episode being as strong as it was was ever going to be given the fact that it's the first episode of a new show and while yes this episode plot does fall into the same trappings that all first episode plots of a new show have to fall into but because of the fact that this show is a prequel to the 2017 It movie it doesn't have to set up the world that it takes place and because of that the plot of the show is allowed to be this really strong plot with the plot of this episode also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this episode is Taylour Paige as Charlotte Hanlon , Jovan Adepo as Leroy Hanlon and James Remar as General Shaw. Also starring in this episode is Stephen Rider as Hank Grogan , Matilda Lawler as Marge , Amanda Christine as Ronnie Grogan , Clara Stack as Lilly Bainbridge , Blake Cameron James as Will , Arian S. Cartaya as Rich , Miles Ekhardt as Matty Clements , Mikkal Karim Fidler as Teddy Uris , Jack Molloy Legault as Phil Malkin , Matilda Legault as Susie Malkin , Chris Chalk as Dick Hallorann , Rudy Mancuso as Pauly Russo , Dmitry Chepovetsky as Rabbi Uris , Finley Burke as Don Uris , Eli Katz as Mrs. Uris , Thomas Mitchell as Colonel Fuller , Chad Rook as Staff Sgt Masters , Mark MacRae as Young Father , Zoë Barrett-Wood as Young Mother , Audrey Wellington as Teen Daughter / Arlene , Lochlan Miller as Little Boy / Ray and Brittany Spiteri as Bert The Turtle.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episodes acting being alot like it's plot in that it's so much more better then what it had any right to be as by all rights this episodes acting should have been really flat and wooden with all of the actors still trying to figure out and find there respective characters and yet there's very little to none of that in this episode with all of the episodes actors turning in some really good performances with it being helped that this episodes director and one of the shows executive producers Andy Muschietti really does know how to get a good performance out of all of his actors a skill which he showcased in both of the It movies and does so again in this very episode with the best actor in the whole entire episode really being very hard to say as really all of this episodes actors could make that claim and it would make total sense with even the episodes kid actors not being as annoying as you'd think that they would be with Clara Stack having a bright future ahead of her should she want to continue acting but if push did indeed come to shove i'd  say that the best actor in the whole entire episode is Clara Stack as she really is the glue that holds this episode together and is just so good to watch in this first episode alone with the acting that's in this very episode really being helped by the fact that this episodes script is just so good that all this episodes actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does raise the over all quality of the acting that's in this very episode.

Character wise this episode does rather rightfully fall a little bit short as the characters aren't the best characters as they all do come across as being very one dimensional. This is very understandable at this point in time as this is after all only the first ever episode of the show with alot of the characters showing alot of promise and room to grow as characters however therein lies the problem as the foundations for these characters are rocky at best and so it doesn't matter how good that they end up being because of the fact that the foundations for these characters aren't good with the first impressions of these characters being weak at best but to be fair tho these types of shows do usually have weak characters in them as it's doubtful that any one will be remember any of the main characters names from either Friday The 13th: The Series or Scream: The TV Series which does mean that it makes sense for this episode to have weakly done characters as well and to be fair to this show it does seem like the makers of this show have watched other horror shows before now and learnt what not to do when it comes to there characters as the makers of the show do indeed take steps to show that the characters can be interesting and who knows might be good characters come the end of the season and while you always want to lead with your best foot forward here it does seem like it might be worth waiting until about the fourth episode before we get a really good handle on who these characters as people as this episode really doesn't give us a whole lot of backstory when it comes to quite literally any of it's characters.

Just incase you all don't know whilst it might easy to assume that this show is a prequel to original book it's actually a prequel to the 2017 It movie. Which to be fair is a really good idea as we don't really know what Pennywise was up to prior to the start of thar movie nor do we know what Derry itself was like prior to the start of that movie either but at the same time tho whilst is set in the world of the movies it is based on an interlude from the original book what that interlude is I can't say as i've not read the book nor do I intend to due to a certain scene involving the character of Bev but it is great to see that two pieces of media can come together and inspire a new piece of media and tell  a story that really hasn't been told before now and while yes this show could very easily fall into the same pitfalls that really all prequels tend to fall into when they have a character appear in the prequel that we know for sure is alive and well in the original here tho it is something that only time well tell if they do indeed fall into that and if so it is something that could make this show feel pointless as afterall who would want to watch a show where they already know the outcome of it but here in this episode it does seem like that the makers of the show won't be going down that route as there basically telling two origin stories at the same time the first of which being the origins of the town itself which is a really intriguing story and the second one being the one that alot of people are coming to this show to see that being the origins of Pennywise with both stories set to play out over the shows three planned seasons with each season taking a step back further into time itself.

This is an episode that really should have been alot more worse than what it actually was as usually in first episodes they spend alot of time on setting up the main story of the show and in setting up the shows main characters. Whereas here with this episode they send all of five minuets in setting all of that up before getting right to the action and when it gets to the action it doesn't let up which is what a horror show let alone one that's based off of a film should do as we already know how this world works thanks to the 2017 film and this was something that was huge issue with the debut episode of Alien: Earth as it took so long to get going that it made the episode feel more boring then what it actually was as it was to busy setting up the story , characters and the world when it really didn't need to set up the world that the show took place in because we already had the Alien movies that did all of that for us and yet here even tho it more get going quite quickly it does feel like that it's missing something like things that should have been mentioned during the episode just weren't for no reason whatsoever with this being something that whilst it doesn't effect people's overall enjoyment of the episode it is something that could effect the show the further that this first season of the show does indeed continue and while there are alot of things to talk about n the first episode alone all of those things are sadly spoilers and this post is going to remain as spoiler free as possible but in saying that tho there are things that do work for the episode like the fact that it does have some rather subtle social commentary which granted really wasn't needed in the episode but it is something that would have been present when this episode was taking place in and it was something that was handled rather well.

This is a show that is meant to have a mystery element to it as the characters do have to work out what actually happened to there friend Matty. However much like with the characters the mystery element doesn't really work as well as it might do when all of the other episodes are taken into account due to the fact that the episode really doesn't give us any clues as to what's actually going on other then the fact that it might involve the towns Army Air Base and that's really it which is fine for a first episode as you do have have to give us the audience something to make us come back and watch episode two which thankfully this episode does do a good of doing exactly that but at the same time tho that does seem like a rather obvious place to go to when we the audience know that Pennywise is going to be involved in the mystery to some degree and so all we are left doing is basically just waiting for what we know is going to happen whilst watching these characters run around trying to play catch up with us the audience when we should be with the characters interms of what they know and this is where announcing that Bill Skarsgård is coming back as Pennywise is a bad idea as it right away robs the show of any tension and surprise that it might have had had that been kept as a surprise as then you could have had that big shocking reveal that you want to have when something has a mystery to it as that then could have been the perfect cliffhanger ending to one of the episodes and would then have made you wonder just where the series is going to be going next and whilst we do still get that as not much is revealed about the shows main plot that big shocking moment of finding out that Pennywise is in the show is now spoiled.

Now then this episode has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly fifty three minuets and forty five seconds. Which to be fair to this episode does seem like a solid running time to have with the episode having just about the right amount of plot there to really cover that amount of running time in the first place with the episode making the best use of it's running time that it could possibly have done by getting the plot moving right away but in saying that tho this is an episode that really doesn't use it's running tom all that wisely as it doesn't really develop it's plot all that well which granted might be because all of that plot development is going to becoming in the later episode of the show but at the same time tho given the events of this episode it is something that really does make you wonder just why the makers of the episode isn't take the time to start that development now as they've only got seven more episodes to do all of that and still tell a really good story as well with the episode not really taking the time to develop it's characters either which again is something that's completely understandable as this sis the first episode of a new show and it would be foolish to expect the characters to be that well developed after the episode but again given what happens in this episode it would have made some form of sense if some of the characters got some character development as that is something that will make them more memorable as characters and not the kind of characters that your going to forget about five minuets after the episode airs but I really will admit that this episode really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror show that really doe mean that I gave to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very episode well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very episode was in all honesty really good. With this episode being worth watching just for the kills alone as there both that good and are that creative with them both really taking as full advantage as they possibly could do of the fact that this show is airing on HBO and HBO Max as there's alot of blood and gore in both of this films kills with both of them being really creepy in their own right with one of them showing what can best be described as a slow decent into madness and the other is basically watching a storm that you know is going to be very dangerous come slowly towards you and yet they both work really well with both of this films kills being the best kills in the whole entire episode with the first kill only just being ever so slightly ahead which even then is just due to the attention to detail with the killer in that first kill with that first kill being the ne that's more important to the overall plot of the season but in saying that tho the second kill is just pure chaos in all of the best ways possible which is something that really does make it a really good kill with both of the episodes kill scenes being really creepy in their own right which is something that does make this episodes kills as good as they were ever going to be as by all rights this episodes kills had no right to be as good as they were ant yet for one reason or another the makers of this episode went above and beyond in making this episodes kills not only really gory but also really creepy as well and it is something that does make them both some really good kills in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this is an episode that really is worth watching just for it's kills alone as they really are a true highlight of the episode with the episode also having plenty of good acting and the plot being one that is really intriguing as you don't know what's going to happen next thank god we won't have to wait that long as HBO is releasing the next episode this Friday online with it then airing on Sunday as usual which just goes to show you just how much faith HBO really does have in this show in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very post and with this only being my first impressions of the show but should I still be watching the show when the final does indeed air then I will then do a review of the show as a whole.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this vey post well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very post from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this episode being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this episode really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.

Frankenstein 2025 Film SPOILER FILLED Film Review

There are some directors that when you here that there making another movie you straight away get excited for that movie and well Guillermo Del Toro. Is one of those directors and with his latest film technically being released as it has a received a limited theatrical release before being released on to Netflix it only made sense that I review his latest film and so the join me as I give you my SPOILER FILLED review of the film that is easily better then what The Bride is going to be with the film in question being called simply just "Frankenstein" enjoy.

The plot of this film is hoping to defeat death after the death of his beloved mother Victor Frankenstein creates something that may bring the end to both of them. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as while this films plot is basically a more direct adaptation of the book even down to the main artic setting however tho this films plot is still one that's really interesting as while it is a more faithful retelling of the book it's also not afraid to just be it's own thing something which does come through in how the film tells it's story and while this films plot is still really good it's also one that's not as strong as it perhaps could have been as it was hard to tell just what the main plot of the film was even meant to be alot of the tie with the film instead feeling more like a novel than an actual film as it takes so long for the film to explain things which is fine for a book as there you can have as many pages as you need to tell the story but in a film you have set amount of time and to have vast chunks of time in just setting things up and not paying them off as something that does hurt the plot alot more then help it with it feeling like this films writer , director and producer Guillermo Del Toro wanted to get across that he was a fan of the book which is fine but it's something that shouldn't come in the way of telling a genuinely good story in it's own right with the plot of the film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Oscar Isaac as Baron Victor Frankenstein , Jacob Elordi as The Creature and Mia Goth as Lady Elizabeth Harlander and Baroness Claire Frankenstein. Also starring in this film is Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein , Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson , Christoph Waltz as Henrich Harlander , David Bradley as The Blind Man , Lauren Collins as Alma , Sofia Galasso as Anna-Maria , Ralph Ineson as Professor Krempe , Burn Gorman as Executioner and Charles Dance as Baron Leopold Frankenstein.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty i i all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this being something that's not really all that surprising for two reasons the first which being the fact that Guillermo Del Toro does have alot of good acting in all of his films with it being made clear as day that he's a director that really does know how to get a good performance out of all of his actors with the second thig being the fact that alot of the actors that are in this film are a bunch of really good actors in there own right as actors like Mia Goth and Oscar Isaac for example have proven time and time again that they are really good actors and they do indeed prove it again in this film however tho this films best actor quite clearly have to be Jacob Elordi as The Creature as while Oscar , Mia and Christoph can all use there facial features to get across there characters emotion Jacob really can't under all of that heavy make up and therefor has to rely on nothing more then body language and movement and yet he pulls it off so well with him getting across everything that The Creature is thinking and feeling in almost all of the scenes that he's in and while no one will ever be able to top what Boris Karloff did in the role in 1931 Jacob however manages to make the role his own whilst still turning in a really good performance in his own right with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script was just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Doing the CGI for this film is Herne Hill Media , Hotspring and the legends and the greats that are currently over at Industrial Light & Magic. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty 9 in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual CGI that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the makers of this film really only using CGI when they have to and not when they want to which is a the best way to use CGI as it would have been super easy to have alot of this film be done inside of a computer and even have The Creature be an entirely animated character but there not and he's not with the film really only using CGI to great things like fire and lightening and even the ship that the characters are on does seem to be fully CGI with the film even having alot of CGI when Victor is claiming up to attack the device that would allow the lightening to hit the creature which even then seems like it was done more for practical reasons as one you obviously won't want your leading actor up on a very tall building whilst it's raining and two you can't predict when your going to a have a thunder storm therefor the only way to do that scene was with CGI backgrounds and lightening and while the film does over use CGI fire which does look decent but it's never going to top the real thing even this films bad looking effects still look some what decent because of the fact that there's more practical elements there which makes it alot more easier to blend those effects into the finished film.

SPOILERS START HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like a film like The Hateful Eight which told it's story in chapters this film does the exact same with the film having three chapters with the first one being the prelude or basically the prolog and then we have Chapter One "Victors Tale" and finally there's Chapter 2 "The Creatures Tale". With Chapter 1 feeling more like a very loose remake of the original Frankenstein film as we do get to see pretty much alot of the things that was covered in that film only now we get alot more backstory for Victor with it being reveled that he has a brother who he doesn't really get along with that well and they had a father who pretty much hated Victor but loved his brother but what's odd is that whist Chapter 1 is pretty much a remake of the Frankenstein film Chapter 2 is pretty much a remake of The Bride Of Frankenstein with that chapter hitting on alot of the same plot elements from that film and whilst yes that film is pretty much just a carbon copy of alot of the book it still feels weird seeing things that are closely associated with that film like The Blind Man and The Creature learning to talk be featured in this film despite the fact that they were originally in the book with the only thing that's different being the fact that Victor doesn't create a Bride for his monster which really is a shame as seeing what Guillermo Del Toro could have done with The Bride as a character is pretty interesting to think about but given that this film is pretty much a more direct adaptation of the book it does make sense that he follow the book almost to a fault but at the same time tho it is odd that elements that are more well known for being in The Bride Of Frankenstein are suddenly showing up in this film for no rhyme or reason as those moments on their own don't really add anything to the plot of this film but they do add alot to this films version of The Creature.

To be frank I do very strongly feel that this film will be better then the upcoming remake of Bride Of Frankenstein which is called The Bride. As this film whilst still doing new and interesting things with the characters is still respectful to the source material whereas just based on the films teaser trailer and posters The Bride looks like it has nothing to do with the world of Frankenstein and the world that Mary Shelly created back 1818 with this film from a visual stand point looking very visually stunning with there being alot of practical sets which is something that Guillermo Del Toro himself insisted upon as it's proper old school hollywood film making and whilst The Bride does look like that it has practical sets as well it also looks like something that would be better off as a direct to DVD or even a straight to streaming movie and while yes this film has also gone direct to streaming you can't tell that that was always going to be the plan as it looks like the kind of film that you'd want to see on the big screen and not something that you'd expect to see on your computer screen with this being due to the fact Guillermo Del Toro is a fan of film making and will do anything to make the best film possible and it is something tat does show in all of his products as they all have looks to them are very distinctive and are looks that you'll only find in this films as your not going to mix up his take on Pinocchio with say the live action Disney version or that Russian one that stared Pauly Shore as the Guillermo Del Toro Pinocchio film looks like a Guillermo Del Toro film as it has alot of love and passion put into it where as The Bride just based off of the teaser trailer alone looks like that it's lacking that passion.

Where this film does somewhat fall apart is in it's characters as the film spends far to long in setting up Victor. With not enough time spent on making the characters seem all that interesting as the film sets up Elizabeth as Victors love interest but then gets rid of that part of the film once Chapter 1 finishes up with her character not having all that much to her as she's just basically the love interest to both William and Victor and really nothing more then that with William himself basically being a more sane version of Victor and the ships captain doesn't have anything about him that makes him interesting which I guess does make sense as he's having this story told to him and so we don't really get to see that much of him and what little of him we do see is just him asking Victor and later The Creature questions and that's really it with the only somewhat interesting character in the whole film outside of Victor being of course The Creature as this is a character that does go from loving Victor as the only father figure that he'd ever known really to hating him due to the fact that Victor is expecting progress to be made with him to be quick and easy when The Creature is basically a baby and therefor things like speech and learning words won't come easy to him like they don't come easy to a baby with this version of the character much like the Karloff take on the character all he wants is a friend and father figure and that's it and yet Victor who thinks that he's god because he's created life isn't willing to be either of those things as he's been driven mad and yet when The Creature does indeed lash out at Victor we feel for his character because at his core he's a just a kind and gentle soul with this being something that Guillermo Del Toro really did understand about the character.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly two hours and twenty one minuets and fifty one seconds. Which even for a horror film let alone a high end one like this one is is still a pretty long running time to have but my god is it worth it as there's not a single frame that could be cut from the main story of this film as if you loose any scene of this film it does effect the plot of the in a massive way with this film even having the right amount of plot there to cover that amount of running time as even tho this film feels like a novel and not a feature film this is a film that really did need a longer running time in order to tell it's story in a way that does justice to the story itself and while this film does use it's running time wisely in one regard in that the films plot is as well as it's ever going to be with the world of the film being as well thought out as you'd expect from a Guillermo Del Toro it's when it comes to the films characters that it doesn't use it's running tome wisely as none of the films characters barring Victor and The Creature are that well developed as characters which is fine for side characters like Henrich Harlander or even Baroness Claire Frankenstein as well as there just side characters at best but for characters like Captain Anderson , The Blind Man , Elizabeth and William there really should have been more thought and effort put into there characters as those are characters that are close to the films main characters and yet we get to find out very little about either of them as the film is alot more focused in giving all of Victor's origin story then it is in giving us good and well thought chaacters but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a horror film that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual horror that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really well done. As what makes this film scary is the same thing that makes any good Frankenstein scary which isn't the kills but rather it's the idea that a man can play god which is a really creepy and scary idea in it's own right made even more so when that man then goes mad and starts to believe that he is god with this being something that was done really well in this film as we get to see Victor go from this charming and hopeful young man who wants to defeat death and yet due to the fact that he lost his beloved mother and wasn't really loved by his father he goes down this long and slippery slope to pure insanity which does end up with him basically becoming his father when he beats The Creature for saying nothing more then his name over and over again with the idea of man's hubris being big enough that he des believe that he is a god when all he's going is messing with things that are best left alone are themes and ideas and all good Frankenstein media should talk about as it's something that will always need to be talked about with this being film that whilst it doesn't have good kills in it it really doesn't need them as the idea alone is scary enough to make this film worth watching but in saying that tho it would have been nice if this film did have some good kills in it as that would then give us the audience a reason to be scared of The Creature in the first place in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

SPOILERS END HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall it doesn't matter if you've seen this film during it's limited theatrical release or if your going wait until November 7th of this year to watch it on Netflix either way you have to watch this film as it is a really good film in it's own right and is a film that you won't regret watching in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad thigs that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images.

A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Film Review

In just about a weeks rim two big things are happening for the A Nightmare On Elm Street the first of which is the fact that Robert Englund is finally getting a star on the Hollywood walk of fame and then quite literally the very next day A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge turns thirty years old. As such it only seemed right that I take a look at one of the movies from this truly iconic franchise and while there are a few good sequels in this franchise there's really only one that comes close to matching the original film interms of quality with that being the film that i'm going to be talking to you all about today and so then join me as I review the film that killed of two legacy characters with the film in question being called simply just "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" enjoy.

The plot of this film is one year after the events of Part 2 Freddy is back yet again and this film it's up a bunch of psychiatric and an old foe of Freddy's to team up and put a stop to him before he gets rid of them all for good. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good as while this films plot wasn't as good as the plot for part 1 was it's easily alot better then the plots for parts 4 through 6 as this films plot takes it seriously enough that you do by into whilst also advancing the overall plot of the franchise in ways that make sense and don't just feel tacked on or half hearted with this films plot being one that is something that does work really well for this film as while it would have been super easy to have the whole of the film take place on the same street as the first two films having it takes place in a Psychiatric Hospital is a great idea as it means that all of the films teens are now in constant danger as they can and in some cases do get forcibly put to sleep with this films plot actually being the most stronger film plot when it comes to the sequels as this is a plot that could only work in the movies and isn't something that could be told in other mediums something which it very easily could have done as this is a plot that if it was in the wrong hands could feel more like the plot of a TV show episode and not that of a movie but due to the fact that this was made by people who clearly love the Nightmare On Elm Streets movies you can tell right away that they put alot of thought and effort into giving this film the best plot that they possibly could have done with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson , Craig Wasson as Dr. Neil Gordon and Patricia Arquette as Kristen Parker. Also starring in this film is Ken Sagoes as Roland Kincaid , Rodney Eastman as Joey Crusel , Jennifer Rubin as Taryn White , Bradley Gregg as Phillip Anderson , Ira Heiden as Will Stanton , Larry Fishburne as Max Daniels , Penelope Sudrow as Jennifer Caulfield , Priscilla Pointer as Dr. Elizabeth Simms , Clayton Landey as Lorenzo , Brooke Bundy as Elaine Parker , Nan Martin as Sister Mary Helena / Amanda Krueger , John Saxon as Donald Thompson and Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt tat the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this veery film was in all honesty really good. Which was something tat was really shocking as while Lawrence Fishburne and Patricia Arquette are big names stars today they weren't back in 1987 and with all of this films actors being very little known actors it would have been foolish to expect great performances from any of them and yet that's exactly what they all give us as every single actor in this film really does nail there character down perfectly so much so that it is hard to picture quite literally anybody else playing these characters as that's just how good that this films actors really are with it being obvious that Robert , Jon and Heather all turn in some really good performances as well which is something that again makes total sense as they would have had the experience of playing there respective characters before and so they would best know how best to perform there respective characters in any given situation with the best actor in this film being none other then Robert Englund who even at this point in the franchise simply just IS Freddy Krueger with him clearly having alot of fun being this truly evil character something which does shine through in the final product of the film with it being no wonder that he would stay with the franchise all the way until 2002 as he really does get the Freddy Krueger character with the acting that's in this film really being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performance will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

Caracter wise this film does fair really good as well as the film not only has some really good returning characters but it also has some really good new characters as well. While Nancy herself will be talked about more later on in this review she is someone who does gel well with the new characters owing to the fact that she knows exactly what there going through due to the fact that she's been through it herself in he first movie with the film really shining in it's new characters and setting up Kristen as someone who could possibly take over as the franchises next main character and while all of the other new characters do get alot of attention put on them that make them feel alot more fully developed as characters it's Kristen who is basically a main character in the movie and heck the film even starts with her trying to try awake despite having nightmares of Freddy however tho it still would have been nice to see more of the other new characters as while they are fairly well developed the ideas behind them feel undercooked as the film doesn't take the time to fully explore them like for example Will who we are told was in an accident at somepoint that cost him the use of his legs but we don't get more about his backstory then that with it only being hinted that it was Freddy that caused his accident something which would have been nice to hear more about as it is something that would have made there confrontation near the end of the film feel all the more personal and while it could be argued that Taryn gets a mini arc in the film with her trying to overcome drugs it would have been nice really to see that side of her character explored alot more as it could have been a welcome break from the main plot of the film.

This film does mark he start of what I like to call the dream trilogy as it's where all of the films up until the sixth film have one on going plot element run through them all and have more returning characters in them. While trilogy's usually have the second film be there best one with the third being the one that alot of people agree is the worst and the first being serviceable and the second one being the best one here it's not true as while the third one The Dream Child is still the worst one the first one which is this film is the best one with The Dream Master being a serviceable film as it's where Freddy started to turn more and more into MTV Freddy where he's always cracking jokes and being less scary where as here due to the fact that there was some effort made into developing Freddy further by having his powers be stronger then what they were in either the first or second film that's just something that that's not true for any of the other two films as they keep Freddy as strong as he is with him only getting stronger and more like a cartoon character in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare and heck it could even be argued that the dram trilogy has it's own supporting cast of characters as well as Kristens mother reappears in the next film as do Kristen , Joey and Kincaid all of which do make the films feel alot more bigger then what they previously were as it says that the people who survived one Freddy attack can come back to take him on again and while that is something that could be argued started with this film with them brining back both Nancy and Don Thompson it is somethin that does become a recurring thing in the other two films as well which makes those film feel more connected outside of just being a sequel to a previous film.

The film does add some backstory to Freddy in this film as well with it being reveled that his mother was assaulted hundreds of times after being locked in a room with hundreds of maniacs over some holidays. Which is something that both does and doesn't work for the film it works for the film in the way that it does give the character of Neil Gordon something to do other then be an obvious love interest for Nancy but at the same time tho out side of it being releveled how to "permanently" kill of Freddy it adds nothing to the film and was really only there to pad the film out and that's it when something that's this important should be given more screen time and be apart of the main plot of the film and not be in the films side plot as it's Nancy and the kids that have to find out how to kill Freddy not Neil and Don therefor giving them that plotline doesn't work as you very easily could have had the kids fighting of Freddy in the dream world while Nancy is rushing of burying Freddy in the real world something that would have made total sense for the character of Nancy Thompson to do in the first place but at the same time tho it is something that works the way it is as well as it means that Freddy and Nancy can have that one last big confrontation in the dreamworld something which the fans of this franchise would have been wanting to see since the first film with the only thing that could have made the concept of people having powers in their dreams even better being two things the first one being showing Nancy's powers and the second one being having the main characters be a now institutionalized Jesse from the previous film as then we'd get to see the two heroes from this franchise teaming up to take on Freddy.

This film could be argued is the film that started of the trend of killing of legacy characters as while Friday The 13th Part 2 also killed of it's previous main character in that film it was at the start of the film and really played no part in the rest of the films plot. Where as here not only her return but also the death of Nancy and Don as well for that matter is seen as being huge plot points in the film as it's Nancy that calms down a hysterical Kristen and ultimately becomes a friend and an alley to the rest of the teens as well and therefor when she does die it is something that could be seen as being quite shocking even tho her death does make her look quite dumb as she knows that she's still in the dreamworld and therefor Freddy could still be alive and yet she goes to hug who is at first her father telling us that's also died but then it turns out that it's Freddy who ends up killing her which is something that does go against her character as in the first film she was presented as being someone who is quite capable and is quite smart with her even dragging Freddy out of the dreamworld and into the real world so that she can do some harm to him and possibly end him in the real world but here it felt like for that matter her character was changed where as there is a way that she still could have died by Freddy's hand and that's just by her getting into a fight with Freddy with her first winning the fight but then something happens that causes her to be distracted and that's when Freddy takes over the fight and kills her which is a death that feels true to her character as you'd not only get that one big epic final confrontation between Freddy and Nancy but you could also have Nancy trying to outwit Freddy as well.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty six minuets and thirty one seconds. Which is pretty much the bog standard running time for alot of these A Nightmare On Elm Street film with the film even having the right amount of plot to cover that amount of running time as well and for once the film does use it's running time very wisely as the film does take the time that it really did need to fully develop it's plot with it's plot feeling a natural continuation of the first films plot with the film advancing the plot of the film and it's characters with this being something that the film didn't really have to do but the fact that it was included is something that really does prove that the makers of this film really did care about this franchise which is something that makes sense as this film was co-written by franchise creator Wes Craven with even the films characters getting alot of character development as well with it coming all through the use of whatever there dream powers are meant to be with in the case of Will it being the use of his legs something that the character really misses and in the case of Joey it's the ability to talk which is something simple but at the same time it's also something that he's not able to do in the real world for whatever reason with the only thing that's not as developed as it could have ben being the fact that it's not really explained how or why the characters have these powers in their dreams when this is something that really should been a bit more thought out due to the fact that it is such a big plot point in the film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is a slasher that really does mean that I have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With Freddy getting in some of the franchises best and most well known kills in this film all of which do look really good with the makers of this film even coming up with alot of really creative and creepy kills all of which do take as full advantage of the fact that all of this films kills do indeed take place inside of a dream with the film even having quite alot of really well done gore effects which are sure to creep out people along with the kills with the films best kill oddly enough not going to Jennifer altho she is the films most well known kill with the best kill in a film that full to the brim with really good kills going to Phillip as even tho it's the first kill in the whole entire film the amount of effects that went into making that kill and how visually impressive that that kill still is and the fact that it's a kill that could be argued is a key plot point that makes it the best kill in the film with even the visual of Freddy controlling Phillip like a puppet being something that is pretty creepy especially with Phillips veins in his arms and legs acting as the puppets strings with his kill being one that whilst it's not as iconic as Jennifer's death it is one that is a pretty creepy kill in it's own right with the film being filled to the brim with kills that are really creative and that are really fun to see in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall it's not that hard to see why this film is considered by many to be one of the best entries in this franchise as it not only matches what the first film did but it also takes them in a completely different direction whilst also remaining true to what the characters are and what the franchise is all about as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images hat I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images.

Predator: Badlands Film SPOILER FREE Film Review

The Predator franchise is one that more often then not sees decades pass between each film and yet when Prey was a hit it really was a shock...
