A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child Film Review

A Nightmare On Elm Street fans the character of Freddy Krueger has reached many highs in his film career but he's also sunk to many lows as well and it's one of those lows. That i'm going to be taking a look at today simply because I just wanted to review a film in the A Nightmare On Elm Street film and multi-media film franchise and so join me as I review the film that officially marked the decline in quality for the A Nightmare On Elm Street films with the film in question being called simply just "A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" enjoy.

The plot of this film is exactly one year after the events of A Nightmare On Elm Street 4: The Dream Master Freddy Krueger is once again back from the dead and so it's once again up to Alice to put a stop to him and to find out how he is invading her dreams whilst she is still freaking awake. Now then in terms of what I actually thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was just a bland plotline and it's one that sadly wears thin pretty freaking quickly in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is of course Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger and Featured Maniac and Lisa Wilcox as Alice Johnson. Also starring in this film is Kelly Jo Minter as Yvonne Miller , Danny Hassel as Dan Jordan , Erika Anderson as Greta Gibson , Nicholas Mele as Dennis Johnson , Joe Seely as Mark Gray , Whitby Hertford as Jacob Daniel Johnson , Valorie Armstrong as Doris Jordan , Burr DeBenning as Mr. Jordan and Beatrice Boepple as Amanda Krueger.

Now then in terms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty just average with of course leading actor Robert Englund and Lisa Wilcox but everybody else is just turning in bad performances that really does bring down the overall quality of the acting that's in this very freaking film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then with this film the character of Alice and thus actress Lisa Wilcox actually becomes the second leading lady in a A Nightmare On Elm Street film to appear in two separate films as the exact same character. I have to say that i'm in all honesty shocked that they didn't really bring back previous characters before a A Nightmare Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors since there is a wealth of possibilities that you could do with of this franchises main characters in my freaking personal opinions anyways / at least.

Now then all of this films new main cast of characters are just bland character and all of whom have no personality to speak of whatsoever and this even goes for the character of Yvonne Miller whom gets the most grand total screen time out of all of the newer cast of main characters for this film. Which is a shame because the one personality trait that they are all given is a pretty good springboard to really delve into whom all of these characters are as people and as actual freaking characters in this freaking film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then perhaps the biggest villain that's in this film isn't Freddy Krueger himself but it's instead rather the MPAA. Who cut this film to absolute shreds which means that we get literally no gore whatever in this film and it also means that scenes were either cut down or straight up removed from the film which in case of the graduation scene actually causes a freaking continuity error and Dan's death was meant to be even more graphic that what it already was which means that the MPAA really didn't understand whom this films main target audience was or even is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then we also get the stereotypical killer backstory for this film which given that were five films into this franchise at this point was totally unnecessary. Since at this point in the franchise you're either not going to watch or even like this films or you've seen and thus hopefully liked enough of these films to already know what the actual backstory is or even behind the character of Freddy Krueger in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now while I cannot for the life of me remember what exactly this films exact grand total running time was I do know that film at the very least for at the vert least one and twenty five minuets and I think fifty one seconds but i'm not exactly on that last part tho. Wither way I really do feel that this film was far to short since this film had to introduce five or possibly six new characters but because of this films incredibly short running time there cannot be enough time to be devoted to these characters and so these new characters really do suffer because of this films incredibly short running time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then since this film is a slasher film after all that means that we have to actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very freaking film and well then in all honesty i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very freaking film were in all honesty freaking good. Which given how badly that the MPAA treated this film is something that is well and truly freaking shocking to me indeed in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is huge freaking step down in quality from literally all of the other A Nightmare On Elm Street films that came before it and while there are some good things to be found in this film those good things don't make for all of the bad things are that is found in this very freaking film in my very freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 5.5 out of from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official A Nightmare On Elm Street fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get the images that are actually from this film and that that I personally / actually used in this very review being Google Images this is simply because Google Images actually has alot of images from this film and plus alot of / nearly all of the images that are from this film and that are currently up on Google Images are all fairly high in quality and as well as being fairly high definition and as always we end this review as we always do which is with one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams indeed.
