Saw III Film Review

Horror fans it's been quite along time since I last reviewed a Saw movie and just as long since I last reviewed a much more older horror movie. As such I thought that i'd scratch both of these itches at the exact same time by reviewing a early Saw film and so then join me as I review the film that saw the death of two antagonists and the introduction of another one with the film in question being called simply just "Saw III" enjoy.

The plot of this film is husband and father Jeff Denlon finds himself the latest victim of Jigsaw's deadly games meanwhile his wife Lynn finds herself having to do the most deadly surgery that she's ever done. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that' actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad as this films plot genuinely quite engaging and very entertaining as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Tobin Bell as John Kramer , Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young and Angus Macfadyen as Jeff. Also starring in this film is Bahar Soomekh as Lynn , Donnie Wahlberg as Eric Matthews , Dina Meyer as Kerry , Leigh Whannell as Adam , Mpho Koaho as Tim , Barry Flatman as Judge Halden , Lyriq Bent as Rigg , J. Larose as Troy , Debra Lynne McCabe as Danica , Costas Mandylor as Forenesic Hoffman , Betsy Russell as Jill , Stefan Georgiou as Dylan , Niamh Wilson as Corbett , Alan Van Sprang as Chris and Kim Roberts as Nurse Deborah.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with the cast members doing their best to make this films script worked for them the issue is tho is that this films script is weakest of the earlier Saw sequels with the newer characters not being give much of a personality and so the cast can't really turn in a great performance because of the fact that this films script just won't allow for it.

This is also the film that saw John Kramer die which was a rather bold move to make as no horror franchise has their main killer be killed of. Which was something that I rather liked as it showed that the makers of this film fully respected their audience as the audience would remember that from the first film onwards John was already dying and so to see him finally meet his end in the third film really did make sense and it's something that really does work well for not only this film but for the franchise moving forwards as well.

As you can no doubt work out by who was credited in this films cast this film also marked the debut of Costas Mandylor as Forenesic Hoffman. Who despite only appearing in one short scene near the start of the movie goes on to become the main villain for the following three films it;s this sort of forward thinking that I really love about the Saw films as it makes all of the films very re watchable as you can now spot how certain things that pay of in the later films are now all being set up and this kind of forward thinking that's very sorely missed from films in general.

This film very sadly also marked the death of Amanda Young with her death and her complete character change being something that I really disliked. I hated her death just because it wasn't something that was built up in the film and so it just comes out of nowhere and I hated how they wrote her character since in this film she's written as somebody who have become very dependent on John and that's not how she was written in the previous Saw movies and so this character change really comes out of nowhere and isn't in character for her at all.

Thus film chose to have Amanda's subplot and Jeff's main plot act as parallel's to each other which was something that i'm very mixed on. As in some ways it does work but at the same time I don't think that it's something that they really needed to do even more so when you take into account that it doesn't play a part in the film at all and so it makes you wonder why the makers of the film chose to do something like that especially since you could have done something with it just by having John say to Jeff that if you carry on down this path you'll end up just like her and have Jeff and John then both look at a dead Amanda.

Now then while I don't for the absolutely life of me remember whatever this films grand total even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly one hour and forty minuets. Which was a tad bit on the long side for this film but given just how much storyline and plot that this film had to wrap up having a much more longer running time does somewhat make sense and to this films credit it does some really pretty good pacing to it as well which does make the film really fly right on by.

So now then since this a Saw film that means that I have to talk about the actual traps that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual traps that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad. With this film having some pretty creative and more often then not very gory traps but at the same time they also felt like that they were pretty tame traps as well especially when you compare them to the traps of the later films in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while this does serve as a great end to the John Kramer era of Saw films it's also a fairly weak film with the film being more focused on killing John and Amanda then it is in telling a good story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official Saw fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Image actually has images from this film up on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all fairly high quality and as well as being as fairly high definition and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.
