In A Violent Nature Film Review

Horror had one of it's best years last year with alot of horror films that got released being genuinely really good films. With the film that i'm about to review for you all today being just such a film as it's a film that really did come out of nowhere and while it didn't set the horror world ablaze like the Terrifer films have done it is still a really good film in it's own right and so then join me as I review the film that quite literally puts you in the shoes of the killer with the film in question being called simply just "In A Violent Nature" enjoy.

The plot of this film is when his locket that is keeping his soul at rest is stolen Johnny comes back to life and goes looking for the teens that stole his locket. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with the plot of this film being really refreshing as well as while alot of films will tell you that they've put you into the shoes of the killer this one actually does it and because of that the plot of this film does come across as being new and different whilst if you looked it from the teens point of view it's old and tired as from there point of view the killer is just attacking them in the woods for no reason and while yes the plot of this film could have been alot more better then what it actually was given the fact that this films had a very tiny budget and a debuting writer and director it's a wonder that this films plot turned out to be as good as it was as on paper this films plot could have felt tired and boring and yet somehow the film manages to pull off this plot with it being helped by the fact that this films plot is really new and different as well which is something that does keep you invested and wondering what's actually going to happening next with the plot of this film also being really rather entertaining and as well as being really rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is Ry Barrett as Johnny , Daddy's Perfect Little Girl star Andrea Pavlovic as Kris and Cameron Love as Colt. Also starring in this film is Reece Presley as The Ranger , Liam Leone as Troy , Charlotte Creaghan as Aurora , Lea Rose Sebastianis as Brodie , Sam Roulston as Ehren , Alexander Oliver as Evan , Timothy Paul McCarthy as Chuck and Friday The 13th Part 2 star Lauren-Marie Taylor as The Woman.

Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually feature / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With all of this films actors turning in some really shockingly good performances which wasn't to be expected as nearly all of this films actors are complete and total unknowns with the same thing also kind of being true for Lauren-Marie Taylor as well and as such it really would have been stupid to expect good performances from everybody in this film and yet that's exactly what we got as all of this films actors turn in some really good performances with it being clear that this films writer and director Chris Nash really knowing how to direct his actors and get a really good performance out of them with this being something that the film really does need as the pure concept of the film alone means that that the film requires good acting and while yes some of the films actors aren't as good as others that doesn't mean that those actors are bad it just means that the other actors in this film are better and that's really it with the acting that's in this very film also being helped by the fact that this films script is just so good that all this films actors really have to do is just say the lines as they are written and a good performances really will come out of them naturally which is something that really does help to raise the overall quality of the acting that's in this very film.

The slasher genre is one that requires change every few years to keep it fresh and engaging for modern audiences. We saw it happen in the eighties and in the nineties and with this film we can see it again as putting us the auidence in the shoes of the killer is a really good idea as it means that we see everything that he sees and that we feel everything that he feels and it also means that we the audience basically become the killer of the film and while many people might not like that it is something that makes us feel uncomfortable and can at time be downright scary and that's horror especially slasher films can do when there done right but sadly Hollywood will never recognize this film as being game changer not because it's not using a very popular IP to do so but because of the fact that it's not being released by a major film studio and as such it can pretty much be guaranteed that when a slasher film comes out that's being released by a major studio like Universal for example then the overall vast majority will recognize that film as being a game changer when all it would be doing is following in the footsteps of this film as it's something that already happened with The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity with The Blair Witch Project introducing the idea of found footage movies but because it wasn't released by a major studio it wasn't claimed as being a game changer where as Paranormal Activity was when it was just following in the footsteps of that film.

To be blunt 2024 was a really good year for horror films with the overall vast majority of horror films that were released in that year being really good and while yes we did get a few bad ones like The Mouse Trap for example alot more of them were good if not great. This does go to show that the more strange and bizarre ideas like the one that this film has are the ones that audiences want to see more of and that big studios should look to smaller streaming services like Shudder who also had a had in co-producing this film and look at them for ideas for there horror films as there's no way in heck that this film would have gotten made by a big studio because of the fact that it's central idea is just so strange and out there and yet it's due to that strange and out there idea that the film oddly worked as it means that alot of he things that could be considered faults with the film could also be chalked up to the fact that the killer wasn't there when we got those things with this film also going to show you that while yes some mainstream horror films like Abigail can indeed be really good films but that every once in a while you have to look at the smaller film companies to find fresh and new ideas that prove that the horror genre isn't dead but instead it's thriving and it could also be argued that smaller horror films like Late Night With The Devil and this film will do better for the box office then the more popular horror films as at least with these films your giving audiences something new and something that they didn't know that they wanted in the first place.

Just to get back on track with this film one of this films major faults is the fact that none of the teenage characters are fully developed characters. Which as was just mentioned could also be chalked up to the fact that the killer just wasn't there when we got scenes that developed there characters but because we are left with characters that are nothing short of being two dimensional characters with none of them not really being given much interms of hobbies with the only one who actually does get a hobby is Aurora as she does express an interest in yoga but that's really it and while there are hints to what the teens do when there back at home none of those things affect who they are as characters and instead feel like that they were tacked on to help the characters seem more well rounded then what they actually are with even the films killer Johnny coming across as being more of a three dimensional character then the teens are and he's the one that's not meant to be a fully formed character as the audience is meant to see themselves in him but this is something that could be chalked up to this films writer and director Chris Nash really hasn't written for a feature film before now with his only other feature film credit being as a writer and director on his segment for ABCs Of Death 2 back in 2014 and that's really it but at the same time he really should have worked on creative ways for the teens to get across what it is that makes them fully formed three dimensional characters whilst also keeping it in line with the films idea of just following the killer around as it is something that could be done you just need to be creative to get it done and that's really it.

Another fault of this film is the fact that there so many shots in the film with the killer just walking to his next destination. Which while granted it does serve a purpose in the film and they do try to mix things up a bit by having some of them be cut down by quite a bit but at the same time tho we don't need to see how the killer gets to his next destination as sometimes what you don't see is more scarier then what you do see and while this is to explain the fact that this killer is going to be teleporting to his next victim it can also make the film feel a bit repetitive and boring as there's only so long that you can see long shots of the villain just walking and this is something that should have been broken up a bit more just to keep the film from being dull and boring like maybe near the end of the film Johnny starts running or maybe we get to see something other then him walking and while yes the whole idea is to show that he can't teleport it is something that needed to be thought out a bit more as on paper having him walking to his next victim is a good idea but in actuality it is something that does keep the film from being a really entertaining film with it being like for people can't get into The Lord Of The Rings because the characters have to walk to Murdor well here it's the exact same thing and it is something that should have been taken into account as there are quite alot of scenes with him walking that stretch on and on.

Now then this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and thirty three minuets and fifty two seconds. Which is pretty much the exact grand total running time that you'd expect a film like this one to have and to this films credit it really does make the most of it's running time with the film having more then there interms of plot to really cover that amount of running time as well and while the film does make the best use of it's running time that it possibly could have done with the concept of this film a huge portion of this films running time is made up of Johnny walking which is something that you don't really need to see alot of the time and instead not showing him walking would allow for the teen characters to get some character development as it would mean that we could spend more time with them and there characters as while Johnny is an interesting character as he killed for essentially being different then all of those that he grew up with it's the teen characters that get short changed because of the fact that we get to find out next to nothing about them as characters with this being something that you could do whilst still keeping the core concept f the film intact as you could have Johnny eavesdrop on them while there explaining more about who they are which granted wouldn't work in the context of the film but it would help to get across who they are as characters and it would also mean that we'd get a break from seeing Johnny walking which eats up alot of the films running time with the only thing that really needed to be cut down was the ending as the scene with Kris and The Woman goes on and on for quite a while and all for no reason as none of what The Woman says adds anything to the plot of the film but I really will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it tho.

So now then as this is slasher film that really does mean that I have t actually talk about the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual kills that are actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film not only having some of the goriest kills but also some of the most original and actually scary looking kills as well and while yes granted this film will never be able to top the Terrifer films when it comes to having some really gory kills the kills that in this film are just as gory as well with it actually being really hard to say just what the best kill of this film even is as realistically all of them could lay claim to that honor and it would make total sense but the most painful kill was easily Ehren's death scene as he gets strangled by a saw which then cuts into his throat but the goriest kill in the film is easily that of the Park Ranger's kill as he gets paralyzed by Johnny who then take him to a log splitter and dismembers him which is just such a cool and it's something that does set this film apart from all of the other slashers out as Johnny really doesn't have a primary weapon he just has whatever it is that he can find out at the time and he makes use of all of the things that he can find by using them to create some really inventive and wince inducing kills in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall while the Terrifer films might have captured the audiences interest it doesn't mean that smaller known films like this one that have just as gory kills as the Terrifer films aren't as good as this film is one that really does need to be seen to be believed as while yes it does have it's fair share of problems those problems could also be part of the films charm and part of the films central idea as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review ad as such that really does mean that this very film really does earn itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Tenor , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personally preferred website to use to get images from this film being Google Images simply because Google Images actually has images from this film really are up and on Google Images and plus pretty much much all of the images that I personally found on Google Images were all really very fairly high quality and as well as being as really very fairly high definition as well and so then horror fans we end this review as we always do with really our one and true goddess Elvira wishing us all some really very unpleasant dreams.
