Friday The 13th: The Series "The Inheritance" Review

Horror fans alot of successful films have spawned TV shows it's oddly enough seems to be a right of passage for a horror film. Even more so for a slasher since for some strange reason TV executives seem to be obsessed with turning slasher films into TV shows and what alot of those shows have in common is they at least try to be like there respective film counterparts however there is one show which doesn't even try to be like the film series it's based off of and so here is my review of the debut episode of Friday The 13th: The Series with the episode being called "The Inheritance" enjoy the review guys and girls and everyone inbetween.

The plot of the episode is cousins Micki and Ryan inherit an antique shop from their late Uncle Lewis Vendredi and after selling one of the shops products they find everything in the shop is more deadly then they first fought and so have to try and get back the sold item in this case a doll before it's to late. Even tho I just gave a fairly detailed summery of the episode my summery is more story then what's featured in the actual episode since the actual story is so thin and it takes nearly twenty minuets to get going which is not a good thing at all.

Starring in the episode is John D. LeMay as Ryan Dallion , Louise Robey as Micki Foster and Chris Wiggins as Jack Marshak. Also starring in the episode is R.G. Armstrong as Lewis Vendredi , Sarah Polley as Mary , Lynne Cormack as Mrs. Irene Simms , Michael Fletcher as Mr. Simms , Esther Hockin as Babysitter , Sean Fagan as Boy #1 , Gordon Michael Woolvett as Boy #2 , Robyn Sheppard as Nurse and Barclay Hope as Boyd.

The acting in the episode even tho I say this alot I feel is true here but it was alot better then what I was expecting it to be. I went into this show expecting the acting to be really freaking bad if i'm being honest but to my surprise the acting was passable which for a show based of a movie is a very good thing , it helps that alot of the actors are at least putting in some effort into making the script and the idea work but they can only do so much tho.

Say whatever you will about the quality of Freddy's Nightmares at least that show is actually connected to the A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise even if it's just by having Robert Englund back as Freddy Krueger. This show literally has nothing to do with the Friday The 13th franchise hell even co-creator and Friday The 13th franchise producer Frank Mancuso, Jr. admitted that they only named the show Friday The 13th: The Series so it would be easier to sell the show to networks.

I get that you have to sell a show and I get that it could be hard selling a show and putting the name Friday the 13th in title would make it easier. However by doing that your going to make alot of fans of the Friday The 13th franchise both angry and confused angry because it doesn't feature any characters or settings that they are familiar with and confused because you don't make it clear if this is set in the same world as the films or not and so the fans will be watching just to see if there favourite character appears in any of the episodes.

In all honesty one of the good things about this episode hell about this series is the fact that they don't feature Jason's mask. I say this because there was a rumour going around that if the show did get a fourth season or even more time to film a final episode then they would have tried to connect the show to the movies through the way of using Jason's mask which on paper sounds cool but when you take into account that we see how Jason got his mask in Friday The 13th Part 3 it really makes no sense for the mask to appear in this show.

Perhaps the biggest issue that I have with the show is the fact that the story takes close to twenty minuets to get going. I say this because the episode is forty five minuets long (an hour with adverts / commercials) and so for a story to take that long to get going is not a good thing at all since it means that your now rushing to hit all of these plot points without taking the time to get us there at a more natural pace as such the episode has very uneven pacing with the first twenty minuets feeling pretty dull and going slow as heck but the final twenty five minuets going by super fast as such it leaves the episode feeling very uneven.

Now given that this show debuted on October 3rd 1987 and the original Child's Play movie was released on November 9th 1988 I feel that someone copied someone when it comes to the killer doll concept. Just because there are far to man similarities between Chucky and the doll that is featured in this episode I don't know who copied who but it's clear to me that someone copied someone and i'm hoping that i'm not the only one that feels like this.

Just to make things clear on what those similarities first is the fact that the kid is attached to the doll which while it doesn't mean that the concept was copied it does however lead into what else is to follow. Since both Child's Play and this episode have the kid and doll try and kill people only in this episode the kid knows what she's doing and the fact that there's something supernatural involved is enough to make me wonder who copied who.

Unlike the Friday The 13th films this series takes on a supernatural approach instead of being a slasher which from a budget point of view makes sense since it would cost alot to produce high quality make up effects. However at the same time the die hard fans of the Friday The 13th franchise would be expecting this show to be a slasher and so to against that would only upset the fans but all of that could avoided if they just changed the title of the show to it's original title which was The 13th Hour which to me is a more fitting title.

This show started airing on October 3rd 1987 with the final episode of the show airing on May 26th 1990 with the show lasting a good three seasons. This show actually didn't air on any network instead it went straight to syndication and so it aired on many channels / networks all at once which I honestly feel was a bad move for this show because the people who bought the show must have been expecting an actual Friday The 13th show and not something that is literally Friday the 13th in name only but who knows maybe the various networks knew what they were getting themselves into.

Overall this episode while it wasn't that bad it wasn't that good either it was a very mixed bag in almost every aspect. For everything that this gets right there are two or three things that it gets wrong which for your debut episode is not a good thing at all since it doesn't leave a good enough first impression on the viewers but the fact that this show lasted three seasons means that there must be some fans who like this show this episode tho gets a 5 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from either the official Friday The 13th fandom wiki page , the official A Nightmare On Elm Street fandom wiki page , the official Child's Play fandom wiki or Google Images. If we are talking strictly images from this show then I would recommend Google Images just because those images I found to be more high definition however if we are talking images in this review then I have to recommend the official Child's Play fandom wiki page just because the poster for the original Child's Play was nearly nine mega bites and as always we end this review as we always do with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

The Final Girls Review

Horror fans the slasher genre was at it's peak in the eighties and  the one setting that audiences seemed to love was the summer camp setting. Hell that setting was loved so much that you could honestly make a film just riffing on the tropes that you'd see in one of those movies and well one such movie actually exists and well I thought I thought i'd take a look at it mostly because I honestly haven't reviewed this movie and so here is my review of "The Final Girls" enjoy the review everyone.

The plot of the movie is five high school students find themselves trapped in a nineteen eighties camp slasher film called "Camp Bloodbath" and have to find away to survive the movie while also teaming up with the cast of the movie one of whom happens to be the dead mother of one of the friends. The idea of having kids transported into a summer camp horror movie is honestly an idea that I haven't seen done before and I don't know it's not been done since this movie since the jokes honestly do write themselves and the story itself is honestly really freaking well told in my honest opinion.

Starring in the film is Taissa Farmiga as Max Cartwright and Malin Ã…kerman as Nancy / Amanda Cartwright. Also starring in the film is Alexander Ludwig as Chris Briggs , Nina Dobrev as Vicki Summers , Alia Shawkat as Gertie Michaels , Thomas Middleditch as Duncan , Adam DeVine as Kurt , Angela Trimbur as Tina , Chloe Bridges as Paula , Tory N. Thompson as Blake and Daniel Norris as Billy Murphy.

The acting in this film is alot better then it really had any right to be I don't think anybody would have blamed these actors if they turned in a bad performance. However none of them do in fact alot of the performers in this film turn in funny performances which for a comedy is always a good thing and it helps that the script while there's not alot there in terms of character there's enough for the actors to make the script work.

This film takes shot at pretty much any slasher film that's set at a summer camp most notably Friday The 13th. Since how this film's killer came to be could be seen as a spoof of Jason Voorhees as well as the fact that the villain's main theme is a spoof of Jason's classic theme and the fact that the killer in this film like Jason wears a mask that looks like a hockey mask , I honestly like that they chose to borrow elements from the Friday The 13th movies and spoof them but at the same time I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't look at other slasher based summer camp films like how funny would it have been to see them try and spoof Sleepaway Camp for example.

Even tho this is a horror film to me the main focus of the film and it's story isn't about the friends trying to survive this movie but rather the fact that Max our man character trying to come to terms with the death of her mother. This to me is seen quite alot in the film since out of all the movie characters that she could form a bond with it's her mothers character that she goes to and when she feels stressed out it's her mother's character that comes to comfort her and hell they even have a heart to heart talk near the end of the movie thus making sure that Max has come to terms with the death of her mother but thats just what I think anyways.

There are alot of crazy cool camera movements in this movie which is honestly something that I wasn't expecting to see at all. However while those camera movements are indeed pretty cool nine times out of ten there not really showing stuff that's important to the story however there are times where the camera does pick up stuff that's important to the film and it's story like for example the theatre scene we see every part of what causes the fire which leads to our main cast breaking the screen and thus becoming trapped in the movie but then there are times like the car crash at the start where the camera rolls with the car and that's just not needed since we don't need to see that.

I had only one wish during this movie that's when the our main cast get trapped in the movie I wished that the film went all out to sell us that it's in a cheesy slasher summer camp movie. Like they could have changed the aspect ratio to the screen more like a VHS / TV and the video and sound quality should have been dropped those things to me would have not only been pretty funny but it also would have helped sell the fact that our main characters are in a cheesy as hell summer camp slasher film but nope they keep everything the same.

This film has a lot of commentary when it comes to slasher films set at a summer camp like the fact that the writing is very rarely that good or the fact that they feature the same sort of characters. It's that kind of attention to detail that makes me believe that writers M.A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller watched alot of these movies because they hit alot of the tropes that are found in those movies even like I said to using the same kind of characters in every film.

Now then since this is a horror comedy it only makes sense that I talk about the jokes that are in the film. Which yeah the jokes really aren't that funny at least in my opinion anyways which is a shame because alot of the actors are giving really funny performances the actress who plays Tina (Angela Trimbur) is honestly really funny but alot of the time the cast are given nothing funny to say which is something that you never want in a comedy.

Now it wouldn't be a slasher film without any kills and so it only makes sense that we now talk about those kills. Which yeah just like the jokes did nothing for me personally but here I feel that that makes some sense since the focus is more on spoofing the summer camp slasher film rather then being an actual slasher but with that being said it is still kind of a slasher film and so you'd expect the kills to be pretty decent which sadly they weren't or at least in my opinion they weren't anyways but her you guys might like the kills in this film.

Overall this is honestly a really entertaining film that doesn't take itself to seriously and yet still finds time to have those serious moments. I'm not going to lie and say that this is a perfect film because as i've said in this very review that couldn't be further from the truth with one issue being that the film doesn't take full advantage of it's cheesy 1980's summer camp slasher movie setting but even with all that mind the film gets a 7 out of 10 from me.

All of the images that I used in this review were gathered from Wikipedia , the official Friday The 13th film fandom wiki page and Google Images. Honestly given that I got more images from Google Images I kind of have no choice to recommend that you use Google Images if you want images from this film just because out of the three websites that I used Google Images is the only one with high definition images from this film and as always we end this review as we always do with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

The Babysitter Review

Now then horror fans yesterday I promised you that i'd be doing a review of the 2017 film The Babysitter. While I wasn't quite sure as to when the review would be coming out I thought it was best to get this review out early in the morning so that way i;m not putting of watching this film and I gave to say that after watching the film there are aspects of the film that I feel was done better in the sequel and so join me as I review "The Babysitter" enjoy.

The plot of the film is Cole is left with his babysitter when his parents go away for the weekend only after staying up past his bed time he discovers that his babysitter is part of a cult and wants to kill him. Just like with the second film I felt that the story in this film was honestly rather refreshing and for once original and it helps that the story was rather told in my opinion and it helps that is a story that I don't think we've seen before in horror films but I could be wrong tho.

Starring in the film is Samara Weaving as Bee , Hana Mae Lee as Sonya and Judah Lewis as Cole Johnson. Also starring in the film is Robbie Amell as Max , Bella Thorne as Allison , Andrew Bachelor as John , Emily Alyn Lind as Melanie , Leslie Bibb as Mom , Ken Marino as Dad , Doug Haley as Samuel , Miles J. Harvey as Jeremy and Chris Wylde as Juan. As with the sequel this film has a really good cast and that really does help the film in my opinion.

Again just like the with the sequel the acting in the film is enjoyably over the top with all the actors giving an over the top performance that oddly works for these films. I'd say that for these films at least if you give an over the top performance then your doing something right because this is the kind of the film series that doesn't require you to deliver an OSCAR worthy performance but instead requires you to go full on over the top with your performance.

Out of all the cult members I personally found Allison played by the stunning as all hell Bella Thorne the most fun to watch. Yes all of the cult members are fun in there own ways but to me the best one apart from bee is Allison just because she gets alot of the best lines in the entire film and it's because of that fact that she becomes the most fun cult member for me and yes she is the must fun cult member in the sequel as well.

In a case where the sequel did something better then the original is the films running time I honestly feel that the sequel's running time of an hour and forty two minuets is alot better then this film's hour and tweney five minuets running time. Just because with those extra seventeen minuets the story can get built up better , the kills can be more insane and any running jokes can be set up which all all the film in the long run and that's just not the case here.

I'm just going to say Bee is the best character in this whole movie and yes that includes our hero of the film as well. I say this because Bee is just so cool and in charge she won't be afraid to kill you if you make her angry and on top of that she's also oddly likeable which is something that I don't think i've said when talking about the villain in a horror film but I feel that it's true here plus she feels like she's a cool person just to hang out with.

I know I just talked about the running time but I have to mention it again because for me at least it's a pretty big issue. Since this film feels like it was made to be longer but for whatever reason it was cut down just under an hour and a half as such what could have been a truly great movie at times feels rushed because there trying to hit the next big plot point without taking the time to get us there at a more natural pace.

Now this film is listed as a comedy and so that does mean that I have to talk about the jokes that are in the film itself. I'm not going to lie there are some good jokes in this film most of which come from Bella Throne's character but at the same time I feel that the empathise here was put more on the horror aspect rather then the comedy so even tho this film does have it's laugh out loud moments the second film to me is funnier since there the focus is more on the comedy then the straight up horror but that's just what I think tho.

Like I said before the focus here is more on the horror element rather then the comedy and I have to say that that's a pretty good thing. Since we do get alot of cool deaths in this movie and while alot of the deaths in this film are as over the top as you'd want them to be from this kind of film there not always played for laughs like they are in the sequel which for a horror film let alone a horror comedy is always a good thing.

Overall now that i've seen the two films I can say that I personally prefer the second one more just because it lives up to the comedy horror name a bit better. However with that said there are things that I like about this film as well like for example the deaths in this film are much better then in the sequel but this film also gets alot of things wrong in my opinion as such this film gets an 8 out of 10 from me. All the images that I used in this review were gathered from the official Netflix fandom wiki page , the official villains fandom wiki page or Google images and as always we end this review with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

The Babysitter: Killer Queen SPOILER FREE Review

Horror fans one of the most talked about horror films of 2017 is sadly a film I never got round to watching and well it just came out with a sequel. So i'm going to get ahead of the game here and take a look at the sequel and then hopefully tomorrow if not by Monday i'll be taking a look at the original because doing things in order is just dumb and so here is my review of "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" enjoy this SPOILER FREE review.

The plot of this movie is two years after the first Cole goes to a party at a lake with some friends only for his past to catch up with him. In terms of what I thought of the story it was honestly really freaking enjoyable and I like the fact that the plot doesn't take itself to seriously since that makes the story and the film more fun in my opinion and while I can't say for sure if the plot of this movie is the exact same as the previous movie from what i've seen on Youtube that does seem to be the case but I could be wrong tho.

Starring in the film is Judah Lewis as Cole Johnson , Emily Alyn Lind as Melanie and Jenna Ortega as Phoebe. Also starring in the film is Robbie Amell as Max , Andrew Bachelor as John , Leslie Bibb as Mrs. Johnson, Hana Mae Lee as Sonya , Bella Thorne as Allison , Ken Marino as Archie Johnson , Chris Wylde as Juan , Carl McDowell as Dr. Big Carl McManus , Maximilian Acevedo as Jimmy , Juliocesar Chavez as Diego and Jennifer Foster as Boom Boom.

Since I haven't seen the first film I can't say who is returning and who isn't and so I chose not to separate the two. As for what I thought about the acting in the film it's honestly alot better then what I thought that it was going to be and I say that because the acting in MCG films is rarely that good and so it's good to see a film made by him feature actually good acting and I hope that the same is true for the previous film as well.

Now despite not listing who is and isn't returning I do know a few actors who are returning but it wasn't enough to justify listing all of the returning actors. Incase your wondering if they say how the killers from the previous film come back I sadly cannot say that because it's a spoiler but I will say that the scene that the killers come back in is honestly a really funny scene and I highly recommend watching the movie just for that one scene alone it's that good.

Speaking of funny scenes we do get some backstory for the previous films killers but again i'm not going to say what those scenes are because honestly the film is worth watching just for those scenes alone. The scenes that give us the backstory to the previous films killers while they are indeed funny as hell they also add nothing to this movie and I honestly feel that they should have been included in the previous film.

They do try and do a fake out as to whose involved and who isn't and while it was very well set up with alot of hints given that this could have been the case. Sadly tho the reveal for me didn't really work mostly because the scene in question is mostly played for laughs instead of being treated like a big moment like it should have been which is a shame because the fake out is set up really freaking well in my opinion but the actual reveal as to who this film killers are is honestly really freaking well done in my opinion.

There is a certain character who does appear in this movie who is returning from the previous film but i;m choosing not to reveal who it is just because fans of the previous film will most likely read this review and I don't won't to spoil anything for them. Plus this is something that Netflix themselves should have left out the trailer since it would have made for a very cool surprise but since it's in the trailer it kind of ruins it a little since you know that it's coming.

This is a horror comedy and so that does mean that we have to talk about both of those aspects and so let's start with the comedy. I'm not going to lie this film is funny as hell I cannot count the times that I laughed during this film at all as for what I thought that best joke was apart from the scenes that give the previous films killers some backstory my favourite is actually near the end of the movie where they play a song that makes the title of the movie make so much sense.

Now that we've talked about the comedy in the film it now means we have to talk about the deaths in the film. Which without giving anything away the deaths in this film are just as over the top as you'd expect from a film called "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" with each death being so over the top and creative that you just can't help but love them and in some cases laugh at them since alot of the death scenes in the film include some jokes as well and the blood looks so good as well which for me at least is always a good thing.

Overall while I can't yet say if this is better then the first film simply because i'm yet to see the first film. I can say that this is a really good film and before you all say anything no you don't need to have seen the first film in order to understand this film since the film does cover what happens in the first film , while this film has alot of good things in it the film also has some faults which i've covered in this review as such the film gets an 8.5 out of 10 from me.

All the images that I used in this review were gathered from either the official Netflix fandom wiki page or Google Images. For once I actually cannot recommend which website is better for images from this film or the previous film simply because while I did find high definition images on the official Netflix fandom wiki page I also found a few on Google Images as well and so I have to say use whichever website you want to use and as always we end this review with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.

Species Review

Horror fans it's almost a month since I talked about something that was without a shadow of a doubt a horror film and my god have I picked a good one to talk about. There's not really alot that I can say about this film but I can say that this is the kind of horror film that you didn't want your parents catching you watching when the film was first on TV and so here is my review of "Species" enjoy the review.

The plot of the movie is a female alien named Sil is on the loose and it's up to crack team of people to get her back before she mates with someone. The plot probably isn't the best aspect of the film since it's kind of dumb even at the best of times and it does require you to suspend your disbelief alot but at the same time the story so enjoyable because of the fact that it's pretty dumb and doesn't take it self to seriously.

Starring in the film is Natasha Henstridge as Sil , Sir Ben Kingsley as Xavier Fitch and Michael Madsen as Preston "Press" Lennox. Also starring in the film is  , Alfred Molina as Dr. Stephen Arden , Forest Whitaker as Dan Smithson , Marg Helgenberger as Dr. Laura Baker , Voice acting legend Frank Welker as The Voice Of Alien Sil , Michelle Williams as Young Sil , Whip Hubley as John Carey and Anthony Guidera as Robbie.

I honestly cannot believe how many great actors are in this movie granted this film was made very early on in alot of there career's but still it's impressive none the less. As for what I thought about the acting in the film it was honestly not that bad which given the amount of great actors that are in this film is really not that surprising whatsoever hell even Michael Madsen is good in this film and that's a very rare thing for anyone to say.

This film actually had me asking the question of who the real bad guy of the film is since all Sil wants to do is escape which is fair enough. However all this crack team wants to do is capture and study her for reasons unknown and so when I started to look at it from that point of view I was forced to wonder if the people who are trying to capture Sil are actually the bad guys and hell even the leader of this team treats young Sil more like an object to study rather then a person.

Now if you look at Sil someone who just wants to escape and be loved by someone it makes her look like the good guy. Yes she does kill people but only when she feels threatened and so in that regard she's like a teenager in that she will attack you if she feels threatened by you and that's really something that could have been removed if someone at the facility where she was born and raised actually took the time to care for her.

This film was pretty much a passion project for writer and produced Dennis Feldman who came up with the idea for what would become Species in 1987 when he wrote a treatment when the film was first called The Message. Which unlike the final product would take more a police procedural approach to the story which I don't really think would have worked for this kind of story but luckily the idea would get turned down alot until Feldman wrote a script for the film and re-titled it Species and changed quite a bit from his original approach.

Sadly this is the only film in the franchise that Feldman wrote with all the other sequels being written by different writers. Which is a shame because I do believe he is best writer for this franchise since he knows what would work in that world and what wouldn't where as the other writers are just doing it for a paycheck and not because they have a passion for the world that the film and this franchise is set in or at least I think so.

One of the issues that I have with this film is the fact that's nearly an hour and fifty minuets long which is about twenty minuets to long for this film. This film should have been no longer then an hour and a half long but since it's not we get badly paced scenes with scenes going on for far to long which in turn makes the film feel boring to watch which is a shame because when the film wants to be fun and entertaining it really can be fun and entertaining to watch.

Now I do actually have some memories of watching this film when I was very young I can't say the exact year but I know that it was sometime in the mid to late nineties. As such I can speak from experience when I say that you don't want your parents walking in and catching you watching this film because not only will end awkwardly it will also mean that you won't be able to look your parents in the eye for a while.

Now then boys and girls there are kills and scares in this film and so that means that we have to talk about both of them. In terms of the kills I thought that they were very well done with the film taking full advantage of the fact that Sil is an alien and so your not really limited to what a human can do which makes the kills creative , as for the scares there really wasn't any or at least there wasn't any that scared me.

Overall yes this is a dumb movie the premise alone should tell you that but at the same time it's also an enjoyable movie. That doesn't mean however that the film is without fault because trust me it has plenty of them it just means that despite those faults many of which i've discussed in this review the film is still pretty enjoyable and fun to watch as such this film gets a 6 out of 10 from me and no i'm not covering or planning to cover the Species sequels.

All the images that I used in this review were gathered from either the official Species fandom wiki page or Google Images. I have to say that I honestly wasn't expecting to find any high quality images from this film and while alot of them are fairly low quality there are a few that are shockingly high quality and those are the images that I got from the Species fandom wiki page as such I have no choice but to recommend the official Species fandom wiki page if you want high definition images from either this film or the franchise as a whole and as always we end this horror review as we always do with our true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very very unpleasant dreams.

Scary Movie 2 Review

Now then horror fans you've seen me review alot of horror movies but you've never seen me review a parody horror movie before. Well that ends now as I only have one of those in my DVD collection and trust me when I tell you it was pretty freaking deep in my DVD collection and honestly I forgot that I even had this movie in the first place and so then horror fans here is my review of "Scary Movie 2" enjoy.

The plot of the movie is one year after the events of the first film Cindy , Brenda , Shorty and Ray find themselves in college and for a class assignment they and several over students , there professor and his assistant go to haunted house and must survive when they realise the house has a poltergeist. I honesty found the plot to be rather enjoyable to me the story is just the right amount of stupid which for a parody movie is always a good thing.

Returning from the previous film are franchise stars Anna Faris as Cindy Campbell and Regina Hall as Brenda Meeks also returning is franchise co-creators / co-writers and co-executive producers all for this film by the way Marlon Wayans as Shorty Meeks and Shawn Wayans as Ray Wilkins. Joining them are Christopher Masterson as Buddy Sanderson , Kathleen Robertson as Theo , the best part of the live action Alvin And The Chipmunks films David Cross as Dwight Hartman , James Woods as Father McFeely , the best part of any or TV show he's in Tim Curry as Professor Oldman , Tori Spelling as Alex Monday and Chris Elliott as Hanson.

Now then for me the most important thing when judging a comedy is do the actors give a funny performance. Which yeah alot of the actors in this film do and given that they got actually funny people to write the script and have a cast that we know can get us to laugh and who know how to make us laugh that really shouldn't come as surprise to anyone and it's those funny performances that really carry the film in my opinion.

Now this film is the last film that had The Wayans Brothers both Shawn and Marlon as well as there brother films director and other creator  Keenen Ivory Wayans. Judging from the fact that i've seen at least one of the later sequels I can safely say that if a sixth film was to be produced then the studio would need to get these guys back because they get this franchise perfectly and they now what the best joke is in any scene of the film.

I honestly do feel that this family is perfect for the Scary Movie franchise because not only do they know how to make us laugh. They also know that the joke isn't what's being parodied it's what's being said or what's happening that's the funny part and that's something that alot of parody films just don't understand they seem to think that whatever they are spoofing is what's funny while at the same time not writing any jokes.

I have to say that out of the new characters I honestly liked Chris Elliott's Hanson simply due to the fact that the character was so out there and pretty funny. Which is something that alot of the newer characters just weren't at least for me don't get me wrong the new characters were acted well enough but very few of them could get me laughing which is something Hanson did at least once in every scene he was in.

Unlike the first film which poked fun at the slasher genre the most famous parody of cause being the then recently released film Scream. This film pokes fun at the supernatural genre of horror films which I honestly thought was a very interesting thing to d since it would have been very easy for them to poke fun at slasher sequels and just go nuts with that but the fact that they took an a different sub genre of horror films I thought was a brave move to make.

This film is actually alot shorter then what it really should have been since it's just under eighty minuets long. Which for me is a huge issues since it means that things like the story and the characters can't be developed as fully as they can be since the film has to pack in all of these jokes and still tell a decent story as such I feel that this film really should have been at least an hours and a half maybe even an hour and forty minuets just so they can develop the characters and the story alot better which is something that they can't do with the very freaking short running time that they have.

Now then this is a comedy and so that means that we have to talk about the jokes that are in the film itself. Which I feel is the film's aspect since the film is honestly really funny and like I said what makes this film funny isn't the fact that there spoofing something popular and that's the joke it's the fact that they have funny things going on when making that parody and that to me makes a huge difference since it makes the first two Scary Movie films actually good parody movies instead of movies that are just cashing in on whatever's popular at the time of production.

Overall this film is easily the best out of the Scary Movie sequels simply due to the fact that it's actually trying to be funny. I'm not going to lie and say that this film is perfect because honestly that would be freaking stupid and as you can see by the fact that I listed some issues with the film I found there to be quite alot of issues all of which needed to be fixed but weren't as such this film gets a 7 out of 10 from this horror fan.

All images used in this review were gathered from either the official Scary Movie fandom wiki page or Google Images. I honestly cannot recommend either website for high definition images for this film which I kind of expected would be the fact since this film came out in 2001 and so to expect any high definition images would be insane and so we end this review as we always do with our one true goddess Elvira wishing us all some very unpleasant dreams.
